Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/06/2020 14:54

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

I'm okay with step until it gets to the "party" track and then I think wtf, get grumpy and give up!

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 17/11/2020 13:45

Hi ladies. Sorry if this has been addressed already but it's a long thread...

What do you use to access LMoD? I had to give up on the Jillian Michaels app because I couldn't get it to work on my FireTV stick and my phone screen was too small.

PurpleDaisies · 17/11/2020 13:54

I’m just using my laptop. That’s good enough for classes I know quite well like body combat but it’s harder for learning new moves.

kittykarate · 17/11/2020 14:09

I'm just running it on my tablet and squinting a lot!

MsMartini · 17/11/2020 14:36

@SeasonallySnowyPeasant, I downloaded the LMOD app to my firestick TV - it works fine.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 17/11/2020 14:51

Ah brilliant. I'll have a go at downloading the app after work.

ilovecardigans · 17/11/2020 15:00

Hi Snowy, I've only recently started using the LMOD app via my Firestick. So far so good!

Prior to that, I was connecting my laptop to my (not so Smart - hence the Firestick!) TV via an HDMI cable and that also worked fine. If laptop was being a pain, due to regular, seemingly endless Windows updates I would 'cast' the screen of my tablet to the TV. I think it's called screen mirroring or something like that. I don't know if your phone would have that facility, but it's worth checking out if you have a Smart TV.

nbee84 · 17/11/2020 21:40

I cast the app from my (android) phone to my smart tv. I need to make sure my tv is switched before I open the app.

Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?
SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 18/11/2020 09:22

I successfully downloaded the app to the Firestick last night but then failed to sign up as the payment page kept crashing on my phone. Trying my laptop today! If that doesn't work then I'll take it as a sign and just stay fat Cake

MsMartini · 18/11/2020 09:35

@SeasonallySnowyPeasant Grin. Good luck. I signed up on laptop he. dowloaded firestick app. It is worth it!!

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 18/11/2020 11:08

Got it. DS's year group is self-isolating so I did Body Attack with him just now. He was just going around shouting 'paaaaaarrrty!' at the top of his voice while I was dripping sweat and opening windows.

ilovecardigans · 18/11/2020 18:40

Great stuff Snowy. Grin at your son.

kittykarate · 18/11/2020 22:03

I tried my first ever Grit Cardio. That was unpleasant.

Pebbledashery · 18/11/2020 22:19

Lol. Do you need equipment for grit? I'm alternating between combat and attack at the moment.

MooChops89 · 18/11/2020 22:53

Ahh there's a LMOD thread! Hi everyone, I signed up a couple of weeks ago as I used to go to BodyCombat at the gym before I got pregnant with baby no2 who's 4 months old now. And I was sick of trying to find poorly filmed classes on YouTube!
Just bought myself a barbell to start doing Pump and I might get a step as well although where I'm gonna put it all I dont know!
I've got about 4st to lose, lost 7lb so far in 4 weeks but I defo feel myself getting fitter and more able to keep up with less modifications!

TabbyStar · 19/11/2020 06:53

I bought a step and worried about where to put it, I find it looks fine in the middle of my dining room though 😁.

justpoppy · 19/11/2020 19:11

I’ve ordered my equipment today. Anyone here ordered from LM recently and if so how long did it take to arrive? Can’t wait to get started on BP. We already have a spin bike so will have a go at RPM or Sprint tomorrow. Very excited!!

kittykarate · 20/11/2020 15:36

Do you need equipment for grit?

Not for grit cardio - it's just the 3 S's required. Sports Bra, Shoes, Space!

Oh and something to mop up the sweat as I was pouring with it. I couldn't keep up to be honest, though none of the exercises were complicated. It was just soooo tiring.

Today I did my first ever full-length (55 mins) Body Attack as the previous plan I was following was all 30 mins. It was fun, but feeling it now.

Pebbledashery · 20/11/2020 15:47

@kittykarate ohh i might try it :)
I love the older bodycombats and attacks. I did Bodyattack 89 yesterday and Bodycombat 64 today.. they are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

SingingSands · 24/11/2020 13:39

Hi everyone - I've just signed up to LMoD as was missing bodypump classes at my gym.

I can't believe the amount of content on the site - it's sort of blown my mind a bit! I'm going to start with bodypump and step as that's what I know, but excited to try a bit of everything.

I have a question about the workout numbers - what do they mean? Are they meant to be done in order? Why do they have hashtags? Wondering if I'm just being dim, or overthinking on it!

nbee84 · 26/11/2020 21:05

@SingingSands - the workout numbers are related to each release, so at the beginning there was bodypump 1, combat 1, barre 1 etc New releases come out about every 3 months. I started doing bodypump at about release 89 and we're now up to 113 on the app. They are a couple of releases ahead in the gyms. No particular order to do them in. It's worth doing a particular release a few times when you're a beginner so that you get the hang of the moves. To start with you'll probably feel a step or 2 behind or going left when they're going right (well I did! Grin) After a while you'll find you have favourite ones that you go back to. I quite like doing the remix ones.

nbee84 · 26/11/2020 21:08

Today I did The Trip 06 - again Grin It's the one I do the most. It's a really good workout with a good mix of sprints, surges and hills.

kittykarate · 30/11/2020 17:03

Today was a Hybrid workout - actually I think they are quite a clever way to use existing content, and you get a chance to try some workout types you might have been avoiding grit without committing to a full workout.

nbee84 · 30/11/2020 20:47

I did the Bodycombat United - I think the United ones were only added today. Made a few adaptions for my knee injury but really enjoyed it. Will try the bodypump united tomorrow.

On Saturday I did the LM training strength with a couple of adaptions. Think the training ones are supposed to be a beginner version of Grit. Was a good workout and got my heart rate up. Can't wait until my knee is sorted so I can get some real intensity into my workouts.

TabbyStar · 01/12/2020 07:58

I might try a hybrid workout today, thanks for the tip. I sat on my step and cried yesterday because I couldn't work out the coordination! I've had other things going on, it was just the last straw!
