Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/06/2020 14:54

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

I find Combat easier to work up a good sweat in, but it's more that the moves are more familiar to me from doing martial arts years ago, so I'm wasting less time standing there with a WTF expression on my face.

The only Body Attack I've noted down in BA#90 short (30 mins)- really enjoyed that and had a sore arse for days after because it was lunge-tastic.

I need to find myself a new plan to do, I was doing Optimal Mix Prime as it had no-equipment options. As I bought more stuff, I added in the 'alternates' from the schedule to make it a 5 day a week thing.

Sorry for the visuals but I sweat like an absolute beast by track 3 in Combat, by the end of it I am finished.. it's good for releasing tension as well! punching the air :P

TabbyStar · 05/11/2020 18:48

I like Body Attack 105, the one on the roof.

My step came today, I ran this morning but hoping to do BodyStep tomorrow, probably just 30 mins to start off with.

EatPrayYoga · 05/11/2020 18:58

I haven't done any LMOD for a couple of weeks

I might try some Shbam tomorrow but I only really like the ones with recognisable music that I like

earlydoors42 · 06/11/2020 15:48

I did the Body Attack on the roof today too! I liked that one, although I did take a breather between each track.

Pebbledashery · 06/11/2020 16:22

I did body combat 64 this morning.. Muy Thai is a killer in that one..

TabbyStar · 06/11/2020 16:50

I did my first Step class this morning. It got me out of breath, which was good, but I was getting a bit irritated at not being able to work out the movements! My cardio fitness is good but I just can't move so quickly as I've got older, so I get behind, that might improve a bit I suppose as I get more familiar with it. I had the feeling I'd get a bit bored with it though, which I don't really with Attack.

JacobReesMogadishu · 07/11/2020 12:40

I’ve done my first ever cxworks class today. Number 38. It was ok.
Might try a step class in a bit.

I’m impatiently waiting for the missing clips for my barbell to arrive so I can do pump.

PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2020 16:04

I’ve just signed up. I’ve been doing physical body combat and body balance classes for a while. Looking forward to getting going.

Pebbledashery · 07/11/2020 16:33

It's the best thing I've discovered in lock down I have to say

PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2020 17:12

I did body combat 64 and now feel like I am about to keel over. As good a workout as at the gym.
Need to lie down now...

Pebbledashery · 07/11/2020 17:34

@PurpleDaisies 64 is my favourite. The muy Thai is absolutely killer.

PurpleDaisies · 07/11/2020 17:41

@pebbledashery BC64 was out when I was doing combat at the gym three times a week. Lots of muscle memory. Loved it! Think going to seriously ache tomorrow though.

My local leisure centre hasn’t had classes at convenient times for ages and I’ve really missed it. I was surprised how good it was at home (and how much cheaper!).

Pebbledashery · 07/11/2020 18:27

@PurpleDaisies me too I was doing it in 2017 pre pregnancy and stopped in 2018.. I love that I can do it from home and feel a sweat on and don't give a crap what I look like because its only me in my home 😂

earlydoors42 · 08/11/2020 10:51

I just did BC64 after reading this thread. I managed most of it except a few push ups and a few lunges! Also took a slight breather before the muy thai! Great recommendation thanks!

Pebbledashery · 08/11/2020 14:49

Body combat 65 is also absolutely killer it's quite addictive.

earlydoors42 · 08/11/2020 15:46

I will try that one next!

I got quite a shock last week as I attempted one of those elbow strikes but went wrong and punched myself in the face. I am very careful with them now!

Pebbledashery · 09/11/2020 10:01

I did body combat 63 this morning.. NO JOKE - it literally made me sick!!! the 2nd power track and the last one are absolutely amazing!!!

Duckwit · 09/11/2020 19:05

My absolute faves are Body Combat 77 and Body Pump 111. I feel like I probably need to branch out a bit more!

JacobReesMogadishu · 09/11/2020 20:21

I’ve been doing BodyPump for 3 years in the gym so I must have done quite a few but no idea what my favourites were. And also loads more which I’ve never done.

I did the current release today to get me back into it but think I’ll branch out tomorrow and try a new one.

earlydoors42 · 12/11/2020 07:42

Not sure whether to try BC63 as I don't want to be sick! Since BC 64 I have done 1 barre, 1 BA, 1 cx works and 1 pump. Back to Combat today!

Pebbledashery · 12/11/2020 11:18

I alternate between combat and attack.. Attack kills my legs. Yes bc 63 is absolute killer.. But i loved it. I much prefer the old ones.

kittykarate · 12/11/2020 11:38

I do like their plans for making you try different releases and different programs.

I'm just finishing optimal mix prime and now I'm doing Burn Prime (no equipment), topped up to 5 days a week with stuff from the Tone and Strengthen Prime. It might be a bit of a step up , as Optimal Mix was the 30 min versions, and Burn Prime is full length.

I'm still finding Body Step a bit hit and miss. I cannot work out what on earth is going on with some of the swirling/turning routines (e.g. BS102 is one that has a lot of turning off and on the step).

earlydoors42 · 17/11/2020 13:29

I don't think I could coordinate with the step! I tried Grit Cardio today - didn't love it! And tuck jumps make a bit of wee come out :-(

PurpleDaisies · 17/11/2020 13:33

I tried Barre for the first time today and quite enjoyed it. Some of the jumping type moves weren’t particularly well explained and my legs wouldn’t move in the right way. It felt like a good workout for my legs though.
