Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

In fact, I’d have less than 2mx2m as I’d have the baby on the play mat on the floor to jump around 😖

TabbyStar · 03/11/2020 06:29

There is quite a bit of traveling in BodyAttack, I'm less familiar with Combat, but you could adapt most things to do them on the spot I would have thought.

JacobReesMogadishu · 03/11/2020 06:35

Right I have ordered a barbell and weights and will sign up for Les Mills when they arrive. I’m used to Pump, combat and balance from the gym but no idea about anything else.

What else is good? I have an ankle injury so can’t do high impact stuff. So Attack would be out. Out of the others what doesn’t involve jumping about?

earlydoors42 · 03/11/2020 09:53

I only have a small space and manage Body Attack. I just either stay on the spot or take smaller steps than they do. It still makes me a big sweaty mess!

Cx works doesn't involve jumping, worth a go!

JacobReesMogadishu · 03/11/2020 10:09

Thanks, I've ordered a Reebok tube thing so I can try cxworks.

earlydoors42 · 03/11/2020 10:28

I just got my tube thing yesterday so did cx works yesterday and today. My buttocks can feel it!

JacobReesMogadishu · 03/11/2020 11:33

Excellent, that sounds promising

earlydoors42 · 03/11/2020 11:38

I tried the ballet one too which makes me feel like an elephant but I enjoy it. I haven't done much but I think that has some hopping about. The shorter / beginner ones are more plies and things (not hopping) so you could try those for a change?

KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 03/11/2020 12:36

Urgh, I did Grit for the first time ever today. I can't say I enjoyed it like the others at all, I hate burpees though so that might why! Then I did a lovely Body Pump 111, my absolute fave!

Pebbledashery · 03/11/2020 12:38

I'm looking to sign up to it too.. Can you tell me if you actually sweat during the work outs? When I did body attack and combat at the gym I was dripping in sweat but I think they do purposely put the temperature up in the hall too.

MsMartini · 03/11/2020 13:52

I drip plenty, even with CoreCX which as others have said doesn't involve jumping around (it is a great workout I think, combined with other things)

earlydoors42 · 03/11/2020 14:01

I very much sweat!

Pebbledashery · 03/11/2020 14:05

OK I signed up shortly after posting and did a 45 minute body combat workout. I'm sat here panting like a big sweaty dog 😭😭😭😭. It was brilliant though.. Think I prefer to do it in the morning first thing then in my lunch break.

earlydoors42 · 03/11/2020 14:31

I love body combat! Especially kicking and jump kicking.

KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 03/11/2020 14:47

Can you tell me if you actually sweat during the work outs?

Ummmmmm..... Yes! Grin

Pebbledashery · 03/11/2020 15:40

I'm aching like a biyatch now 😢😢. So unfit. But looking forward to getting fitter

TabbyStar · 03/11/2020 15:53

I started doing Attack low impact as I had a back / hip injury, though I found out that I could actually do high impact after a while. They give you low impact alternatives, though often not until a way into the exercises so you may need to do a few classes to get the hang of it, though if you've done that sort of thing before the adaptions are often obvious. I just made exercises up though in the bits where I didn't want to do what they were doing but then joined in again when I was ready.

JacobReesMogadishu · 03/11/2020 19:04

I've just thought... How do you get it on your TV? I have a roku stick.... Is there an app.

earlydoors42 · 04/11/2020 06:28

I join my laptop to the tv with an HDMI cable. I don't understand other technology to get it on the tv...

Pebbledashery · 04/11/2020 08:30

About to do my combat workout with aching bones 😭😭😭

Pebbledashery · 04/11/2020 10:50

Has anyone managed to lose weight training to les Mills? I'm aiming to lose a stone by Christmas by doing 2 classes every morning for 4 mornings a week.

earlydoors42 · 05/11/2020 09:33

How was the combat, @Pebbledashery? I am doing some this morning. I didn't enjoy my Attack class yesterday as much as the previous one - I need to start noting the numbers down.

I have lost weight by exercising this year but I also used My Fitness Pal to count calories until I had got as low as I wanted to (I only wanted to lose half a stone). It only worked well when I stopped eating my exercise calories.

Pebbledashery · 05/11/2020 10:17

I have a stone to lose and I want to do it by xmas..
Combat was brilliant! I was absolutely dripping!!!
I did attack this morning but I'm not very good at lunges and there was lots of lunges! I do enjoy attack but think I was motivated in a classroom setting rather than on my own in my daughters bedroom as she has a bigger bedroom than me ! :P I was still sweating a lot though and I am absolutely aching. Think I will alternative between Combat and Attack. x

earlydoors42 · 05/11/2020 11:34

It's still a while until christmas - I'm sure you can do it!

Let me know any good Attacks you find and I will try them too. I am also doing Pump and Cx works depending how I feel!

Pebbledashery · 05/11/2020 11:38

I got a bit bored with Body Attack today, I find Combat so much more empowering, but I will mix it up a bit, I think it's just the one I did today.
