Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

No what it is £9.99 a month it's a bit more I think but I got in with that deal years ago and it hasn't changed. But it's honestly worth it! The best fitness content I've seen that keeps pulling me back... definitely worth its weight in gold for that miracle Grin

MsMartini · 11/09/2020 10:03

Yes, nice cup of coffee a week price. I love it and especially now - at the moment I am using it to top up my outdoors workouts but if weather/covid rules/situation restrict those, I am go glad I have something to turn to this winter. Also, if the day has gone wrong or I have family worries, it is great to know I can do a quick combat class in the evening and feel better and sleep well. I think because the classes have such high production values, you get almost the same buzz as from a real life class.

nbee84 · 11/09/2020 13:21

I think it's great value and I've kept it running alongside my gym membership. There is something for everyone and every mood. It's proved invaluable this week as I have a knee injury and most classes at the gym aren't suitable without loads of adaptions. So this week I've done lots of cxworx and pump upper body.

Anyone done Rach’s livestream combat on the app? I did get up for the 7am class yesterday but tech gremlins stopped it going ahead so they put her earlier livestream online. It’s combat 72 which isn’t one of my faves, but it’s still great.

Anyone else getting up for the livestream 7am on Sunday? It’s the combat United release with Rachael. I am sooooo not a morning person but I’m going to give it a go. Can always have a Sunday afternoon nap 😴

gingerscot · 16/09/2020 09:54

@SoManyActivities when you say dance stuff, do you mean music or actual dancing? Try sh’bam - it has both and once you get started it’s really good fun. Just dance like no ones watching and you get a real sweat on. I like 28-30 best, they burn more calories for me. I need to branch out though. I think the newer ones have more “dance music” though.

sociallydistained · 17/09/2020 14:10

@gingerscot I'm not getting up but I've done all the live stream workouts afterwards anyway 😂 I loved Pump and Grit with Ben recently. I'll do Rach's for sure if it goes on after (but not 7am Sunday sorry lol)

gingerscot · 17/09/2020 17:47

I know it’s nuts 🙈. But I like the idea of hundreds, thousands of people all jumping around at the same time. Gives it more a gym atmosphere.

MsMartini · 18/09/2020 20:21

I am wondering about getting a studio dumbells/barbells set so I can do pump and grit strength. I do quite a lot of calisthenics but don't know how easy it will be to keep that up over the winter. Does anyone here combine the LM strength stuff with heavy weights or calisthenics training?

I can't work out how I would do it as I sometimes feel upper body for a couple of days after a calisthenics session. I do combat, attack, some grit and running on my off days at the moment.

gingerscot · 20/09/2020 16:38

I do pump, and bought the mirafit set at the start of lockdown which has been fine. I’d like to add more weights but they’re still insanely expensive to buy separately so I’m just making do, pausing tracks if I have to.

I used to do a couple of heavier/less reps weights sessions a week in the gym before lockdown, but making do with what I can. I don’t appear to have lost much in gains I have to say, but that might be proved wrong when I finally get back into gym and heavier weights 🙈

gingerscot · 20/09/2020 16:40

Oh - and the United Combat release in on the app for 24hrs only. I need to try and fit it in again before it disappears to decide who much I like it 👊🏻

MsMartini · 20/09/2020 20:44

Are there different releases on different systems? I use the app on my tv.

OK, thanks about Mirafit - they are OOS atm, but I will keep an eye. The outdoor gyms in parks where I do my stuff were closed for quite a while so it could be useful if that happens again.

Floofsquidge · 21/09/2020 08:22

I did combat and pump back at my gym on Saturday morning. Shorter classes with 15 minute gap to clean up, segmented areas in changing rooms enforced by having only certain lockers in use, antibac everywhere, must bring own towels and mats, and "stand here" dots in the studios.

It was so good to be back in class as there's that peer pressure of pushing yourself to get through and not take the lighter option or pausing that little bit longer between tracks for water.

sociallydistained · 22/09/2020 22:23

Anyone done the latest live Combat from the weekends live event? I think its the latest release was all new to me which I found exciting! Gotta love Rach's energy!

gingerscot · 23/09/2020 15:51

I did the live United combat release, managed it twice before it was taken down. I think maybe I don’t like it as much as 83, but I can’t be sure because I did love Rach’s energy, which made it fab.

I did Grit cardio this morning, I’m making a pledge to do it twice a week until
it gets easier. It DOES get easier....
Right????

MsMartini · 23/09/2020 21:13

I did the 55 min combat 80 today, with them on the lake and mountains. So so good!

MsMartini · 23/09/2020 21:15

Do people think there are some releases that are better than others, and if so could we make a list? Or is it down to individual preference do we think?

sociallydistained · 23/09/2020 22:24

@msmartini I definitely have my fave released I'm trying to save them to the 'my list' section as I can never remember. I particularly want to try and find my favourite attack releases as those really vary for me!

I'm just now getting into Bodystep Athletic. I am way too uncoordinated for a full 55 Bodystep I get angry at myself lol

MsMartini · 24/09/2020 09:42

Yes, same here about forgetting!

I am still dithering about whether to get some more kit for winter, was thinking of studio barbells or weight plates (got dumbells up to 5kg but nothing else), but last night was looking at steps....choices choices

gingerscot · 24/09/2020 16:30

I definitely have fave releases. Combat 61, 66, 67, 77 and 83 are my go tos. Usually ones that have the best music or burn the most calories. All pump is equally as horrible (but with great results so I suck it up.).

I have done attack since in the gym so not so clued up on the release numbers but the purple people one is pretty epic!

scullie · 24/09/2020 16:52

Ha ha @gingerscot I could have written your post in reverse. My fave pump releases are 96, 99, and 100. I don't have favourite combat because it's horrible but it burns loads of calories so I suck it up Smile

nbee84 · 24/09/2020 18:57

@gingerscot Attack is the one that is much better in the gym - more space, more energy and lots of fun. And I love those purple people eaters too 😆

gingerscot · 25/09/2020 09:55

@scullie there definitely appear to be two distinct type of gym goers - cardio freaks or weights monsters. I definitely prefer cardio, I love the buzz! Oh, there are also the serene, graceful yoga types - they always seem so “together” and grown up. I’m aiming for that when I’m in my 60s and my knees have given up from all the cardio. At the moment I just suffer through the odd balance cos I know it’s good for me and keeps my hand in til I “grow up.”😆

@nbee84 Totally! I can badass fight random people by myself in my kitchen gym but I just can’t imagine doing attack alone, it needs a group atmosphere to get the energy up. It will be the one that draws me back to gym in once we see how winter pans out I think.

sociallydistained · 29/09/2020 20:14

Lol I love Attack at home but I just think I'm there and get proper involved. some of the moves are so silly that I give it my all as no one is watching lol.

MsMartini · 13/10/2020 16:40

I've ordered a step! Any recommendations for classes using it - body step or some of the grits - any favourites?. I've got dumbells I use instead of weight plates.

Singingrain1223 · 20/10/2020 20:03

I have the Les Mills app on my phone, when will Body Pump 114 appear on the app and has it been taught in gyms for last 3 months? I'm quite bored of 113 and 112 was pre-lock down.
