Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/06/2020 14:54

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

I think the instructors make a massive difference.
I love Dan & rach for combat
Glen & Brett for rpm
Marlon is great

Other ones I can take or leave

I love KG too in Pump! Lisa in Attack and Step is always fun. I do so much LMOD I feel like they're my actual mates BlushGrin

I came on to say I have started the new Gamechanger plan with Ben (there is a beginners one with KG and a quick burn one with Rachel) i am going to follow all of the workouts on here but I also run once a week so I will stick to that but do two of the other workouts on one day as some are only half an hour... recently I've not felt encouraged to do Pump and haven't done it for a long time but it's on the plan so I did it last night... wasn't looking forward to it but I really enjoyed it and I'm glad I'm being pushed out of my comfort zone again!

I've attached the screen shot of the plan (I haven't marked off Pump yet but did 111 last night). I quite like being told what to do and marking it off as it feels like I'm achieving something!

Just realised it was 112 of Pump. It was the one with all the calf raises is all I now!
For that plan you can also choose an equipment free option so no Pump!

jerometheturnipking · 29/06/2020 14:30

I agree about the difference the instructors make. Dan and Rach are great for Combat, out of the "travelling" presenters I really like Reagan and Marlon. Actually anything those two do is good - they make appearances in Pump as well and they're always so cheery it makes me forget that my muscles are on fire Grin.

I like Glen and KG in Pump. Lisa is fun too for Attack/Step though I don't do those programmes often.

I'm less keen on Erin (Combat and I think Grit) and Ben (Pump and Grit). They take themselves very seriously, which is fine because it takes all sorts, but I prefer the cheerier presenters.

Did Pump 112 this morning and might do a Balance this afternoon in lieu of going for a walk because of the horrible weather.

nbee84 · 29/06/2020 18:29

I love watching Des in pump 112 - he presents the chest track. He's always grinning 😀 I just picture him doing the funny kids stuff in born to move as he does the age 4-5 ones.

WelcomeToTheMountaintop · 29/06/2020 19:10

upside I felt epic!

So good that I did another one yesterday. Ihave found a way to balance the iPad on a stool so I can do The Trip in the Hallway and not need the Turf Everybody out of the living room. This seems to be working well, so I might be a bit better motivated.

Im debating having a rest day today as my asthma is playing up. Suppose I could do an easy pump and keep my heat rate down, or a balance.

Hmmm.

MozzchopsThirty · 29/06/2020 19:11

After 4 days off I'm back on the wagon
Did BC 80 tonight, the one where they're in the outdoors South Island of NZ

Going to try pump tomorrow with my hand weights
Any suggestions for best one to try?

scullie · 29/06/2020 20:11

@Upsidedownrightnow I couldn't make a link work but here's the details, 'Women's Health Barbell Set - 20 kg' product number 722/5369.

I've just had a look and locally they are sold out again in my Argos so I think I just got lucky. I also heard Decathlon were due a restock of dumbbells and barbells so maybe check there too.

I might try one of the plans as a pp has, I like the idea of following a programme and ticking things off!

MozzchopsThirty · 30/06/2020 20:19

Did body pump 112 tonight, only the 45 min but as I haven't done pump for about 7 years I thought that would be enough

MozzchopsThirty · 01/07/2020 19:16

Hey where is everyone???

Tried grit tonight for the first time as I couldn't be arsed to run
Hard but enjoyed it

Eaten really well this week so happy

flatoutpanic · 01/07/2020 22:47

Hi! I quite like Grit as it’s all over quickly but works you really hard.

I’ve had a couple of days off Burn Amplify (I think it’s called) as I’ve been back to boot camp and PT. Really missed it though, I’m getting quite addicted. Managed a run tested too.

I’m in all sorts of pain from a Hybrid Workout Heart Health I did on Monday. Can’t sit on the loo 😫

flatoutpanic · 01/07/2020 22:48

Don’t know what a ‘tested run’ is... terrifying thought!

jerometheturnipking · 01/07/2020 23:28

I had a day off today but back on it tomorrow Smile I tried Combat 76 the other day after it was recommended here and I think I need another shot now the choreography isn’t completely new to me to decide on how I feel about it.

NathanNathan · 01/07/2020 23:34

I just watched a few of the intro the grit ones in bits. I am now terrified. Grin

Upsidedownrightnow · 02/07/2020 07:41

What's everyones favourite body pump? I'm lookong for a 55min one.

I love body combat 78 has anyone done that one? On the last tesco when we are all tired Marlon is giving this inspirational speech while we work out 🙂 it's actully really nice.

I think i prefer it when they arnt in the mountains or middle of the water 😁

@scullie thank you I will check out decathlon

Combat 66 is my best and the one I can burn most calories to.
It's just Rach & Dan and more old skool Grin

I'd also be interested in the favourite body pump, I've only done one and my legs are still killing 2 days later

jerometheturnipking · 02/07/2020 09:17

I’m interested to hear about favourite Pumps too 😊 my current favourite is 111 - the tricep track doesn’t have tricep push ups, the music is good and it’s a good mix of presenters (although no KG). But I haven’t tried that many different ones out because of the fear of not liking it as much.

I’m just about to do the 55 minute 111 before taking on our last day of home school before the summer holidays 🥳🏋️‍♂️

Fairybatman · 02/07/2020 09:19

First pump this morning since before lockdown, and my thighs are like jelly already. Just dropped into my office chair like a stone Grin

Upsidedownrightnow · 02/07/2020 09:55

i will give combat 66 a try on my next combat day Smile

and i will try body combat 111 today.

@jerometheturnipking- your summer holidays are starting early? are you in the uk?

@fairybatman - I was the same when i first did like half an hour lower body bump but now i don't seem to ache so much.

Morning All! Heavy day for me. Starting a new Bodypump class, will do a Sprint and a BodyBalance class too.

I've been combining this with a decent diet and my weight loss/change in shape has been epic. Although none of my work clothes now fit. 😂

Fairybatman · 02/07/2020 10:04

I don’t know what it is about pump but nothing else I’ve ever done has the same impact on thighs!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 02/07/2020 10:04

@jerometheturnipking - I've been doing 111 for the last month, I love it but need to mix it up a bit now. I'm doing the pop party remix today.

jerometheturnipking · 02/07/2020 10:20

@Upsidedownrightnow I’m in Scotland - some of our LAs started their holidays last Friday but that’s us until the 12th of August now.

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa ah I always forget about the remixes! I’ll have a look at those. One of my favourite combats is the Fight Club remix.

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2020 10:20

Do you continue to exercise when suffering DOMS? I don't know whether to have a rest day today after 3 days in a row

Any suggestions??

Lottapianos · 02/07/2020 10:48

Mozz, I would go for a nice long walk if you can, followed by some stretching. No lifting today
