Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/06/2020 14:54

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

Yeah I second that suggestion. A short body balance session if you really feel the need to do something “proper”.

sociallydistained · 02/07/2020 12:29

Ben featured my story on his Instagram story! It's just a copy of my game changer print out with some ticks Grin I completed week one.

Today I have CX Works which I hate and have completely avoided mostly but here it is in this plan and I know it has good benefits. And benefits I need as I hate anything with core hence why I hate it. I will probably do Combat after it as it's next on the list and have a rest day tomorrow. Wish me luck

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2020 14:24

@jerometheturnipking @Lottapianos thank you

I might go for a light jog then and have a really good stretch after Smile
I'll do another body pump tomorrow then when hopefully I'll be recovered

gingerscot · 02/07/2020 16:18

@scullie I think I’ll carry on with LMOD too, it’s so much easier to just nip to the next room when I have some time from work. I got the mirafit pump equipment and it does the job well.

Did anyone else join Rach for the live streaming combat on Monday night? It was fab, I think she said 80k people had joined.

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2020 16:55

Decided against any exercise today! I need a rest

Lottapianos · 02/07/2020 18:04

Good call Mozz! Sometimes that's just what your body needs. Mine needed cake and chocolate this afternoon Grin back to Body Pump tomorrow!

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2020 18:36

GrinGrinGrin that sounds like perfection

nbee84 · 02/07/2020 20:02

@MozzchopsThirty - I did your combat 66 tonight, great fun 😀 and I burnt 560 calories!
I haven't done pump for a couple of days as I'm hoping to beat my 5k run time tomorrow 🤞

MozzchopsThirty · 02/07/2020 20:21

@nbee84 it's fab isn't it?? It's always my highest calorie burner

sociallydistained · 02/07/2020 20:35

@gingerscot Gutted I missed this again. What time was it? I really just do the next one... hope she does another!

gingerscot · 02/07/2020 22:54

@sociallydistained it was 9pm Monday night BST. If you follow Rachael Newsham on insta then it popped up as a reminder. She said there was another one in the diary for July, and that she would try to arrange a live sh’bam too at some point.

You have to join the les mills Live streaming Facebook page I think. Actually, you can probably get a replay in that page too, though it’s not quite the same.

Upsidedownrightnow · 02/07/2020 23:26

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa - great news on your weightloss Smile how much have you lost? and how long has it taken?

I have lost nearly 7lbs in one month (i was dieting before but not tracking my food well enough) so one month of proper food tracking and lots of les mills and walking and its starting to shift.

I have another 9lbs to get to my goal weight and i will see if i might loose a little more after that.

I did pump 111 today and i liked it, i would prefer one without shoulder work as i have bad shoulders but i did that bit with really light weights.

I didn't know they did live streaming i might give it a try next time.

So glad I found this thread!! I hadn’t realised how much I needed it until I started reading it this evening (disclaimer: I haven’t RTFT Grin). I’m loving LMOD! It took me about 6 weeks of lockdown to get really fed up with all the free to air YouTube options; although there were some good ones, I couldn’t find anything that left me as psyched as a good gym class (& I’m a cheap-date-pure-gym girl, so not even very demanding!) and finally decided to give Les Mills a shot. So glad I did!
I managed to get hold of a barbell and weights just before lockdown, and have been loving Pump, which I did years ago when I was a higher-maintenance DL member, but not tried anything else. I’ve got dodgy knees so a bit scared to do Combat or Attack, even though BoxFit is my favourite real life workout. I’d love to do some hardcore core work, like a really good abs workout, but got the impression you need resistance bands for most of CX stuff?

Any recommendations please? I know there’s loads of content on the site but I don’t have time to search it, and I never want to risk using my limited exercise time on something that needs random equipment half way through or turns out to be a total dud....
Thank you!

@Upsidedownrightnow I've lost three stone in the last year but the majority of that has been since Feb.

I can see some slight definition coming in my arms and I think overall the exercise has helped to combat loose skin. But I've two more stone to go yet so we shall see. 😊

Today I'm going to do a sprint session and a cx worx. As well as a low impact hiit from the body project on YouTube. I can't do les Mills hiit due to previous injuries.

jerometheturnipking · 03/07/2020 11:25

I've lost 2 stone since this time last year - It'll be a year since I got LMOD in a couple of weeks Grin.

Annoyingly I've put a couple of pounds on this week (awful PMS making me eat loads of crap in the evenings), so I'm drawing a line under it today.

Just finished BodyCombat 66 - AMAZING! Thanks for the suggestion @MozzchopsThirty Grin that one's a new favourite. The leg track is a killer though!

MozzchopsThirty · 03/07/2020 13:24

@jerometheturnipking glad you enjoyed Smile

I'm attempting body pump 111 tonight now I can walk again

MozzchopsThirty · 03/07/2020 20:13

111 done 👍🏻 enjoyed it (apart from the legs track)

nbee84 · 03/07/2020 20:45

Really feeling it in my lats today after combat 66!

And I managed to beat my 5k time - I did it in 28min 13sec Grin

MozzchopsThirty · 03/07/2020 21:23

@nbee84 wow that's a seriously good time

nbee84 · 03/07/2020 22:07

Thanks - it was a hard slog, can't see me repeating it for a while! I'm not sure I'm even a proper runner - I did parkrun twice in 2019 and it's only been since the gyms shut that I've run outside again. I've tried to run twice a week on top of my LMOD.

I'll probably do a pump tomorrow - bit less cardio Grin

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/07/2020 11:34

has anyone else had problems signing into les mills today? I can't seem to get signed in

jerometheturnipking · 05/07/2020 12:08

I managed to get in ok this morning - I logged on at about half 10.

gingerscot · 05/07/2020 20:02

I’ve been in today too, did pump 111 this morning (shoulders on fire!) then sh’bam at tea time.

@Fillybuster my resistance bands came today from amazon but I’ll let you know if I come across a cx works without them.

Fillybuster · 05/07/2020 20:33

Thanks @gingerscot - that would be great! I did 105 again this morning, love all the shoulder work but feeling it now Hmm

ItsLeviooosar · 05/07/2020 21:58

Joining! My weights and step arrived last week. I'm doing it!
