Back on 30 day shred after years of phoning it in at the gym. Just stepped up to level 2. It’s so hard 😭😭

I have been doing Joe Wicks adult hiit and went back to the Shred today. I find Joe Wicks harder and I think I prefer him now. Soz Gillian Grin As an aside I follow both Anita and Natalie on Instagram- they are super fit and are probably mid forties now

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 09/06/2020 21:15

Thank you all. I have a girl crush on all of you Blush

Supposed to be doing nmtz #2 tomorrow. I have had a lot of chocolate hob nobs and 2 glasses of wine tonight. And I’m working a night shift tomorrow.... it doesn’t bode well! I’ll report back.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 10/06/2020 08:55

Lift and Shred L2D4 done. Aiming to do this and Killer Cardio to the end of June, then I might grit my teeth and face Ripped in 30 again.

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 10/06/2020 14:15

NMTZ done ✅💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

GeraldTippett · 10/06/2020 16:05

Witch I've never looked in to Joe Wicks. I think I would find him a little too earnest for my liking. I like Jillian's slightly bossy sass. And I find it more motivating looking at ripped female bodies than Male bodies (though I stand as much chance getting a ripped Male body as I do a female one. Damn you, irresistable carbs)

I've done BFBM today so a rest day tomorrow then my 3 weekly progress photos on Friday. I haven't done that well on the eating front this last 10 days (see above re carbs) so am not anticipating any major change in the photos, but perhaps that will spur me on to get back to it.

Well done Mike and Professor. I'm tempted to give Ri30 a whirl after another 3 weeks of my BFBM/NMTZ combo

Witchofzog · 10/06/2020 16:20

@Gerald I am the same with the female bodies. It's a great motivator. I sometimes put Joe Wicks on my tablet and have music videos on the TV for the visual motivation. Though I am usually too knackered and sweaty to look at either much Grin

friendlyflicka · 10/06/2020 21:22

I am revisiting the 30 day shred and really enjoying it. I do it with a news programme on the radio and it flies by.

I find the levels get easier as I move up. Did the last time as well.

If I just carried on doing this everyday would that be sufficient to be toned. Or do you need to progress on to something else.

I usually swim daily so this sort of exercise is unusual for me.

CalmConfident · 10/06/2020 22:27

I skipped today as did a run, need to get on it tomorrow as so nearly there !!

TinyHouseFan · 11/06/2020 08:08

After 35 days of a workout every day, I am having a rest day! To be honest, I never thought I'd stick with it so didn't give myself a chance to fail before now.

I did three days of Body Revolution after 30DS. Workout 1 & 2 are fine, and cardio 1 was fine during it but man, my legs (especially my calves!) are sore today... Hence the rest day.

Back at the grindstone tomorrow.. but I'll be there another pound down. I've lost 10 lbs but this morning is the first time I think I can see changes in the mirror.

CalmConfident · 11/06/2020 08:28

L3 D9 done ✅

Sounds like a rest day is needed tiny - that is an impressive loss, be proud !

TinyHouseFan · 11/06/2020 09:01

Thanks Calm, you're nearly done too. How are you finding it?

CalmConfident · 11/06/2020 10:34

It has been great ! Definitely lost both weight and inches...DH has been really encouraging and said he can really see a difference Smile

friendlyflicka · 11/06/2020 11:20

I found the same as the first time I did this years' ago: L1 horrific - hated all the star jumping. Level 2 easier except there was a middle move that wasn't the skating one, that I found difficult with my terrible coordination. And level 3 was great because it was more power and less sweat.

HermioneWeasley · 11/06/2020 11:51

L3 D6 ✅

I was fizzing with energy afterwards - I’d have done another but I had to go to work

CalmConfident · 11/06/2020 13:30

I am liking level 3 - it zooms past so fast!

CalmConfident · 11/06/2020 13:32

@friendlyflicka was your level 2 nemesis move that forward / backward lunges bit in the strength section - I found that hard to find a rhythm somehow!

friendlyflicka · 11/06/2020 14:52

@calmconfident - Yes. It was too much like aerobics - I have absolutely no coordination. I love level 3. Genuinely really enjoy it. It does zoom past. I have it on quiet on the TV and then have my laptop playing some current affairs programme and I feel happy and invigorated at the end. can seriously imagine myself doing it everyday forever!

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 12/06/2020 07:49

I skipped yesterday as the home internet died on us and I had to go into the office to get a day’s work done. Two hours of commuting ate up my exercise time! Killer Cardio L2D4 done this morning.

CalmConfident · 12/06/2020 08:05

L3 D10 done ✅

First ever time I have completed the 30 Day Shred! Am I shredded? Not quite, but a noticeable uplift in level of shreddedness Grin

CalmConfident · 12/06/2020 08:07

And in celebration...look at these ladies 😁

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 12/06/2020 10:37

@CalmConfident well done!!!! 🥳

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 12/06/2020 12:12

Day 3 of nmtz done. I modified the shit out of it - eg I just can’t do sideways lunges AND do arm stuff and keep decent form, so I just do the lunges. It’s like that for about half the moves at the moment but I reckon this just gives me plenty of room to get stronger. And even with intense modifications, during the “vicious plank circuit” I briefly thought I might puke on the carpet. I am drenched in sweat. This must be doing me a lot of good!! Grin

GeraldTippett · 12/06/2020 12:52

Celebrations all round! Well done ladies. I did NNTZ today as well. Really didnt feel like it but I forced myself and had a really good circuit, raising weights to 5kg on two of the bicep exercises and the plank rows. Did all tricep work with 2.5kg but can only manage 1.5kg on the horrible shoulder exercises in circuit 1.

BFBM tomorrow

TinyHouseFan · 12/06/2020 16:53

Woo hoo, well done Calm! I hope you feel great..

What's next?

CalmConfident · 12/06/2020 18:53

I don’t know!! Thinking maybe No more trouble zones... @MikeHannigansStripyShirt is selling it nicely to me Grin
