Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

Hi MotherForkin - have only had my Fitbit charge 3 for a couple of weeks. It shows a lot of information about each workout like how many minutes you are in fat burning mode and how many calories burned. You can choose what sort of workout, I.e cycling, walking, weights, circuit training. There is a massive difference in heart rate and how long I am in fat burning between doing a Jillian cardio or a Leslie Sansone walk so I think it is quite accurate. It also tracks my sleep and I have found that to be quite accurate. It certainly makes me want to get my 10000 steps in and I love getting new badges when I reach a goal 😃. I got the charge 3 because it is smaller (and cheaper). It pairs with my iPhone too so you can also get your text messages on it. To be honest I turned this off as I didn’t want my wrist buzzing in the middle of the night.

Hi MotherForkin, I initially had to wear a splint for 6 weeks and do special exercises 3 times a day for my DR. I also learnt how to pull in all my stomach muscles properly when doing abs and core work. With lilly sabri she has so many abs workouts. I find the very latest ones she posted are pretty intense and tough so I guess it depends on your level. She has some nice 10 day and 14 day challenges and I started with those. She also has specifically for lower abs too. Now I just pick what I fancy. I never used to be able to do a boat hold with straight legs and now I can thanks to her!!!

Today 5km Interval run for me plus strength for abs, triceps and back and butt

Days exercised 198

roonetta · 09/09/2020 12:45

Once again I 'phoned it in' and didn't do Jillian's cardio but did another 5 mile "Walk with Leslie". I don't know what it is about Jillian's cardio but I don't have any motivation to do them Sad think it may be that there is a LOT of jumping around.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 09/09/2020 18:34

Thanks roonetta, I think I'll have to give it a few more weeks to see how reliable the info is.

Your DR was much worse than mine, Sophie. Mine was mentioned as an after thought by my physio so obviously not very bad. Interestingly I was wearing a brace for 6 weeks after ds's birth for spd and had a lot of physio (I still do the deep abdominal pull in when I'm driving!) so maybe that helped it not be worse. Anyway, I'll have a look at some of those videos, thanks.

We cycled the school run today (which somehow felt uphill in both directions, both times Confused ) and I had a sea swim this evening. It was very cold, I couldn't feel my face when I got out!

Days exercised 187.

OublietteBravo · 09/09/2020 19:09

Unplanned rest day yesterday (partly because DH and I went for a walk, partly because I was trying on clothes Grin). Strength this evening: NMTZ (50 min)

(174/76; 174h 10min)

Did all my lilly sabri challenges and a little bit extra for the Butt and was then rudely interrupted in the middle of my 5km interval run by a power cut (which lasted 3 hours) so only managed almost 4km before the treadmill lost power.

I also seem to lack motivation to do Jillian at the moment Roonetta. Not sure why. Maybe it is the jumping...!

Was your spd very painful MotherForkin?

Days exercised 199

SophieLion · 10/09/2020 07:55

Various lilly sabri workouts for arms, abs and underbutt plus a vinyasa yoga session.

Days exercised 200

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 10/09/2020 11:53

200 days is so impressive, Sophie, well done!
My spd is a long term (and hormonal) thing unfortunately. I need to keep as strong as I can so it doesn't get bad again but I also have to be really careful of what I do so it doesn't make it worse.

Weights again this morning. It was mainly upper body so I might go for a run when I drop ds to football this evening.

Days exercised 188.

roonetta · 10/09/2020 16:17

Hooray on the 200 days Sophie Star

Well done everyone on the amount of exercise happening!

BR WO7 done ✅

SophieLion · 10/09/2020 17:58

Thank you Smile I think we're all going for it and inspiring each other which is the whole point of this thread really.

Sorry to hear that about the spd MotherForkin but it sounds like you're doing the right thing with your exercising. That's one of the reasons I focus on my abs a lot: so my DR doesn't get bad again. It never fully closed and when my core wasn't as strong I would often get an ache in my lower back too.

OublietteBravo · 10/09/2020 19:28

Wow - 200 days @SophieLion Star (I won’t manage that until some point next month).

Abs: both levels of 6W6P (65 min)

(175/75; 175h 15min)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/09/2020 10:33

A very cold sea swim this morning.

Days exercised 189.

roonetta · 11/09/2020 15:23

Ooh that sounds bracing MotherForkin but I bet it gets the blood going.

Rest day for me today as I am in the office which messes up my cosy routine of exercising while I should be working 😆

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/09/2020 23:43

Um yes, bracing. Strangely addictive though...

Hope your work day wasn't too taxing. Smile

SophieLion · 12/09/2020 07:43

Was intending to do a run today but treadmill isn't working (fuse blown from power cut the other day?) so did HIIT! JM's extreme shed and shred L2. Feeling very proud of myself and think I'm going to have sore muscles tomorrow!

Days exercised 201

SophieLion · 13/09/2020 08:30

5km interval run (treadmill wasn't actually broken; the emergency stop button (on the string) wasn't in place 😳) plus lilly sabri for triceps and back and abs.

My legs and butt are sore after JM yesterday...

Days exercised 202

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 13/09/2020 11:40

Grin at your emergency button Sophie.

Run for me this morning too. It was absolutely gorgeous, sun shining and just warm enough to be pleasant.

Days exercised 190.

roonetta · 13/09/2020 12:44

I’ve never done extreme shed and shred but sounds like it works wonders for the butt Sophie Grin

Your run sounds lovely MotherForkin

BR WO8 done yesterday and 5 mile walk again today. Feel a bit better about ditching Jillian’s cardio as I have lost another 5lbs so the walking must be working Smile

roonetta · 13/09/2020 12:46

I should just add how impressed I am at you doing BOTH levels of 6w6p Oubliette - that is no joke. How do you motivate yourself to carry on after you do the first one? I just know I would make up an excuse to keep going.

OublietteBravo · 13/09/2020 19:25

@roonetta - my advice with doing both levels of 6W6P is: do L2 first.

I’ve had a couple of days off. I wasn’t really planning to, but I felt really tired and sore after my blood test on Friday (picture is of the bruise 48h on - I’ve had blood taken hundreds of times before and never had a bruise until this time).

So I’ve just done an unusual Sunday session to make up for it. KB&T L2 and 30DS L3 (65 min)

(176/74; 176h 20min)

OMG Oubliette! What were they doing, digging for gold?! That’s awful, no wonder you had a couple of days off. Hope you feel better soon. Flowers.

Great tip on the way to do two Jillians - one day I might surprise myself Smile

SophieLion · 14/09/2020 08:00

Goodness oubliette. The nurse that did that was either having a very bad day or is complete unskilled. Poor you. Hope your results are ok.

Your run does sound lovely MotherForkin. I really miss running outside.

Yes my butt and legs still hurt Roonetta. I must have been using different muscles with the lilly sabri workouts (not so many squats - JM loves her squats!!!). I've also marvelled at oubliette's
ability and motivation to do two JMs in a row!! And agree if you're going to do it then do L2 first!

Just done one hour of yoga - tried a new style Mandala which was fun yet quite tough.

Days exercised 203

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 14/09/2020 10:47

Ouch, that looks sore, Oubliette. I tend to bruise like that when I give blood, which I'm ashamed to say sometimes puts me off.

Hill run this morning and I'll get a good bit of walking in later.

Days exercised 191.

roonetta · 14/09/2020 13:47

BR WO7 done. No.7 is a tough one; crow press-ups, downward dog press-ups, one legged press-ups! My arms are now useless.

OublietteBravo · 14/09/2020 19:45

That does sound tough @roonetta. I especially hate crow push ups.

Cardio: BFBM (50 min)

(177/73; 177h 10min)
