Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

My hip has been at me so I had a fairly easy day yesterday to rest it. I dragged the family out for a hill walk this morning and I'm going for a sea swim in a bit.

How's your back roonetta?

Days exercised 174.

roonetta · 23/08/2020 18:19

Back is much better thanks @MotherForkinShirtBalls although like you my hip is sore so think it’s all connected somehow. Back to Jillian tomorrow 😁. Do you live near the coast to be able to have your lovely sea swims?

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/08/2020 22:14

Yeah, we're really lucky, roonetta, 20 mins this morning and we were in the "mountains" and 15 mins from my house to the (less crowded) beach.

SophieLion · 24/08/2020 06:02

Hello! Hope you have a lovely holiday Oubliette. How is your back now Roonetta? And well done on your swimming MotherForkin!

I forgot to write down a couple of days of exercise : one was a run plus strength and the other was strength only. Feeling rubbish now as slept really badly (we're back home and got the end of summer blues and a huge to-do-list) but hope to get some yoga in later.

Days exercised 185

roonetta · 24/08/2020 13:49

Jealous MotherForkin Envy - sounds like bliss. How's your hip?

Hi @SophieLion - hope you had a nice holiday. I know what you mean about a huge to-do-list - I am stressing as I ordered uniform a month ago and still not arrived. My DS goes back next week and DD the following week - gulp! When do your DCs go back? Hope you get a better night's sleep tonight Flowers

Back to BR phase 2 WO5 today. Does it take anyone else 10 minutes to get into the workout? I always feel like giving up as it's too hard for the first 10 minutes but after that I am fine. What's that about? Also, I thought JM said "three" while we were doing speed rope, expecting 2 and 1 to follow and the move to be finished, when in fact she said "breathe" and there was another 20 seconds left Angry - harsh

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/08/2020 19:07

Swimming today. I sold myself short the last day, I was 3.5 mins faster over 1km which I'm delighted about. Hip is better, thanks roonetta. It's an ongoing problem unfortunately. And occasionally I forget that weighted split squats are a bad idea.

Hope you hold on to the holiday feeling for a bit longer Sophie!

Days exercised 175.

SophieLion · 25/08/2020 08:06

Oh hope the uniform arrives soon Roonetta. That is frustrating. Slept better last night and so feeling more normal today. Also decided to exercise first thing (although was a
Real Struggle to motivate myself) As
thought it would make me feel more positive about the day.

I'm* Going to google weighted split squats MotherForkin.*

Yesterday did a yoga session and some strength and today a 5km run and strength for abs and arms.

Days exercised 187

roonetta · 25/08/2020 17:00

BR phase 2 workout 6 done. Have made the decision to do a lower impact cardio instead of Jillian’s tomorrow as phase 2 cardio is hard and I am worried it is what put my back out last week.

Well done on the improved swimming time MotherForkin

Glad you got a better night Sophie

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 26/08/2020 11:07

The storm made me lazy and I couldn't face doing anything yesterday. I was back for a one to one with my pt today. I don't know whether to cry or throw up. So much for keeping going at home over the summer...

Days exercised 176

roonetta · 26/08/2020 13:51

MotherForkin - When was the last one to one with your PT? It's so frustrating how missing just a few days puts you right back to square one. Well done you for getting it done though and the next time will be a piece of cake mmmm cake

I did a 30 minute fast walk with leslie today using my hand weights. Worked up a sweat and clocked 3,289 steps Grin

SophieLion · 26/08/2020 15:14

A fun vinyasa yoga practice plus strength for abs, back, arms and back

That's the problem
With exercise - the minute you stop you seem to go back 5 levels .....

188 days

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 26/08/2020 21:59

roonetta, last in person was in mid March. I've been doing zoom classes with her through lockdown but I was obviously slacking more than I realised Blush

SophieLion · 27/08/2020 08:10

7km run today

Days exercised 189

roonetta · 27/08/2020 14:00

Grin re: the "slacking" MotherForkin

BR WO5 done.

SophieLion · 28/08/2020 08:40

Yoga class plus strength. I feel I should go back to doing HIIT as well but have no appetite for it at all Sad

Days exercised 190

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 28/08/2020 10:43

Pt again today, but upper body. Turned out part of my feeling so dreadful after Wednesday's session was the start of a migraine so I was flattened yesterday and did nothing.

Happy weekend everyone.

Days exercised 177

roonetta · 28/08/2020 13:53

I know what you mean about not having the appetite for HIIT Sophie - I don't know whether it's because summer is coming to an end or because the kids are going back but for some reason I am finding it harder and harder to motivate myself to do my workout every day. You are still getting a great workout with yoga and strength though.

Sorry to hear about the migraine MotherForkin - that sucks Sad Glad you are feeling better today and managed your PT session.

BR WO6 for me today.

roonetta · 29/08/2020 15:43

BR cardio 2 done.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/08/2020 17:00

Hill walk this morning. I will do anything to avoid going back to running Blush

Days exercised 178

SophieLion · 30/08/2020 08:45

Hope you're feeling better MotherForkin. So you're avoiding running and in avoiding HIIT 😂🤣

Rest day yesterday and just done a 5km
Interval run plus strength for abs and back.

Days exercised 191

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 30/08/2020 14:26

I grasped the nettle, Sophie and I went for a run this morning! Wasn't as bad as I feared. I really need to get it out of the way first thing, otherwise I find every excuse possible. Has it cooled down any bit for you? I can imagine hiit being even more hateful in that kind of heat.

Days exercised 179.

OublietteBravo · 30/08/2020 14:59

I’m back home and trying to work out if I should exercise today or leave it until tomorrow... it’s going to hurt - I’ve been pretty lazy for 10 days already.

SophieLion · 31/08/2020 06:11

Well done for the run MotherForkin! Bet you felt good afterwards. I do find that doing exercise first thing sets me up For the day but hard to get motivated when the children off school and no routine in place. It's still very hot here and even running on treadmill with AC on and fan from treadmill leaves me dripping with sweat.

Welcome back Oubliette! Hope you had a lovely relaxing time.

Ps sorry for the regular typos in my Posts

SophieLion · 31/08/2020 08:33

Strength for abs, butt and arms plus a yoga vinyasa class. Quite a few arm balances and my arms are feeling rather wobbly now.

192 days

roonetta · 31/08/2020 15:30

Welcome back @OublietteBravo - hope you had a lovely time. Did you decide to workout on Sunday?

BR workout 5 done.
