Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

I got exercising out of the way first thing: KB&T L1 and 30DS L2 (65 min)

(166/84); 166h 00min)

Wow! Impressive exercising in this heat, awesome ladies 😁.

Got back yesterday after a lovely holiday. No swimming done due to pool being so busy but plenty of walking (and ice cream 🍦). Thought I would gently ease back into the swing of things by doing 30DS L1 But with heavier weights (3kg). Shit did I under estimate that! It kicked my butt and I had to drop down the weights for the side lunge with front raise thingy. Got wobbly legs and everything after just a week off. And there I was thinking I was killing it before I went away. Just goes to show you have to keep it up.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 15/08/2020 15:29

I had one planned and one unplanned rest day but back to weights session today, back in my own little home "gym" (aka ds's hot wheels garage Hmm). Going for a sea swim in a few minutes. Good chance I'll come back with frostbite.

It's really hard coming back after a break roonetta! Thats the main reason I kept doing a bit while away. Plus it's half an hour by myself which I really need after six months of family time!

Hope the holidays were lovely, Sophie and roonetta. Stretches on the grass in the sunshine sound blissful.

Days exercised 169.

roonetta · 15/08/2020 17:01

I’m definitely with you on the family time thing MotherForkin. I love them to bits but you can have too much of a good thing. Think they are sick to death of my face as well 😂. Sea swim sounds delightful in this oppressive heat.

roonetta · 16/08/2020 12:56

NMTZ done. The heat combined with aches from L1 of the Shred yesterday and AF visiting made it really hard. There were some parts where I just stood looking at the screen and I can usually do it all the way through. Did use heavier weights I suppose but feel a bit disappointed that one week off has put me back so much!

SophieLion · 16/08/2020 17:07

Good to hear you had nice holidays Roonetta and MotherForkin. JM feels quite evil if you stop it for a few days.... and even slightly heavier weights challenge the body more so don't feel disappointed.

Yesterday strength and a 5km Interval run and today strength and a yoga session. There are advantages to be in a resort - there's a gym and my DCs disappear off all day!

Days exercised 182

roonetta · 17/08/2020 14:08

So jealous of your gym and disappearing children Sophie Grin

I was going to re-do BR phase 1 workouts 3 and 4 as I developed a headache yesterday evening which I still had when I got up this morning. However I talked myself into Phase 2 workout 5 but with my lightest weights and really enjoyed it, and the headache has subsided a little. Drinking plenty of water and trying to avoid painkillers.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 17/08/2020 17:11

Another unplanned rest day yesterday. Swimming today. It's as wet outside as it was in the pool.

Hope your headache goes soon roonetta.

Days exercised 170.

OublietteBravo · 17/08/2020 18:53

I had a planned rest day yesterday. I’m taking today as a rest day too - I have a headache I just can’t seem to shift.

roonetta · 17/08/2020 22:15

Thanks @MotherForkinShirtBalls. It has eased a bit now 😊

Hope your headache goes too @OublietteBravo. I wonder if it’s the weather?

roonetta · 18/08/2020 13:54

Headache well and truly gone today thank god. Hope yours is better @OublietteBravo

BR phase 2 WO6 done which I really enjoyed. Think I am going to like the next couple of weeks, although I haven't done phase 2 cardio yet - got that little slice of hell to come tomorrow.

SophieLion · 18/08/2020 17:56

5km interval run plus strength for whole body. Did a bit of swimming in the sea today (normally I'm Just paddling and playing) but was so slow I don't think it counts as exercise!!

Hope you all feel better and headache-free Thanks

Days exercised 183

OublietteBravo · 18/08/2020 19:42

After a couple of rest days I’m back on it today. Both levels of 6W6P (65 min). My headache seems to have gone - I wonder if it was the weather.

Back to a proper weights session today although I didn't want to. I find motivating myself incredibly hard, I really need a class or a buddy to get through it.

I definitely get weather headaches so it wouldn't surprise me if it was Oubliette.

Days exercised 171.

roonetta · 19/08/2020 14:26

BR phase 2 cardio done. That was hard work and I am now a bath of sweat Grin

Not a good workout for the pelvic floors IFKWIM Blush

OublietteBravo · 19/08/2020 19:47

KB&T L1 and 30DS L2 (65 min). Probably my last session for a little while as we head off on holiday tomorrow evening.

Have a lovely holiday @OublietteBravo - hope the sun shines for you 🤗

roonetta · 20/08/2020 11:41

Unplanned rest day today due to really sore lower back radiating into both hips. Got no sleep last night as whichever way I led, I ended up with shooting pains in all directions. Can barely walk - look like an old woman. Rest today with heat and ice. Not sure what caused it but suspect it was a bit of the cardio yesterday teamed with sitting on the floor playing a board game with DD. Feel like I am having nothing but problems since I came back from hols Angry pfft.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 20/08/2020 14:53

Oh no, roonetta, that sounds miserable. Do you often suffer with your back? Hope the rest and home remedies work.

I had an unplanned rest day yesterday. I was going to go for a run but storm Ellen has hit with a vengeance and it was impossible to get out so I ate chocolate and watched TV instead. I went swimming today and really enjoyed it. I have finally got faster! I was about 2 mins quicker over 1km so I was very pleased with myself. (Potentially I was slightly faster than that but I lost count for a bit so I'm going with a conservative count)

Have a lovely break, Oubliette.

Days exercised 172.

roonetta · 20/08/2020 19:45

Thanks @MotherForkinShirtBalls. I do sometimes get an achy lower back but can usually exercise through it and feel the benefit from the exercise. God knows what I’ve done this time though. Feels very different. It is slightly easier this evening so I’m hopeful after a good night’s sleep (fingers crossed) it will be on the mend. Well done on your swimming time, very impressive 😁 I love swimming too but can only manage a rather feeble looking breaststroke 😏

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/08/2020 16:53

Hope you're feeling better again today roonetta.

I slept through my alarm clock so missed my weight class this morning Blush in my defense, ds was up with a nightmare at 5am and I just fell back into a really deep sleep. So I went swimming again at lunchtime instead. Well actually, more of a water aerobics class. It was fun.

Days exercised 173

roonetta · 21/08/2020 17:35

Oh no @MotherForkinShirtBalls there is nothing worse than being rudely awoken from a lovely sleep. My DS is always waking me for one reason and other and it puts you right out of sorts. You obviously needed the sleep to go back off. The swim aerobics sounds fun 😁

I managed to get a good night’s sleep so felt much better today and back a bit less sore. Still too sore for Jillian but did a nice gentle yoga video on YouTube which seems to have eased it a bit more. Might steer clear of BR for the rest of the week and find a low impact workout to do over the weekend. Don’t want to stop completely. Any suggestions gratefully received 😉

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/08/2020 20:35

Luckily my two are much more reliable for sleeping these days but I remember the nights in those trenches...

Hope your yoga helps your back and you're properly on the mend soon.

roonetta · 22/08/2020 12:19

Did a ‘walking with Leslie’ workout from YouTube today for 30 minutes. Nice gentle walking exercise but surprisingly worked up quite a sweat. I enjoyed it but is was way less brutal than Jillian so not sure how much good it did me. I figured 30 minutes of moving was better than nothing at all. Will do again tomorrow and then hope to be back to BR on Monday.

roonetta · 23/08/2020 14:21

Team Body Project low impact cardio workout done today.

Back with Jillian tomorrow and will restart week 5 from scratch. Back still a little sore but mostly feeling it in my left hip now.
