Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

I know what you mean about the cake @Oubliette. My DC were actually getting on today which meant I had a spare 30 mins so I also did Killer Arms and Back level 1 for the first time ever. I liked it. Go me for doing 2 workouts in one day 😁. Think it’ll be a one off though.

roonetta · 30/07/2020 14:03

BR phase 1 WO3 done. Felt it was a nice workout today - used heavier weights and my new cable, yay! The cable is a killer so I am not sure if I should have bought a lighter resistance Hmm

OublietteBravo · 30/07/2020 19:45

It’s hot here today - but I still persuaded myself to exercise. Yoga inferno workout 2 (the one with weights) and KAbs L1 (60 min)

Rest day today as I have to go into the office on Fridays. I know what you mean about the heat Oubliette Angry (hot not angry Smile)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/07/2020 16:04

I had an unplanned rest day yesterday. Despite getting 7.5 hours's sleep every night this week, I've been utterly exhausted so I gave myself the night off. Felt much better for a hard weights class today.

I'm off on holidays for two weeks tomorrow so might be a bit hit and miss.

Happy weekend!

Days exercised 161.

roonetta · 31/07/2020 16:20

Have a fab holiday @MotherForkinShirtBalls 😁

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/07/2020 18:44

Thanks roonetta Smile

roonetta · 01/08/2020 11:22

BR phase 1 WO4 done ☺️ - was tough today. Used heavier weights and sweated profusely. It’s very hot 🥵

SophieLion · 01/08/2020 17:26

Back from island and exhausted so couldn't face cardio or HIIT. Did one hour strength for butt, abs and arms today.

Seems you've all been very busy exercise-wise Smile

Days exercised 168

SophieLion · 01/08/2020 17:27

Enjoy your holiday MotherForkin!!!

OublietteBravo · 01/08/2020 19:34

I had a planned rest day yesterday, and I’m taking today as an unplanned rest day because I’m feeling really tired.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 01/08/2020 19:45

How was your trip Sophie?

I got out for a run early before we left for our looooong drive. We've just arrived...I'll probably have a rest day tomorrow and check out the gym on Monday Wink

Days exercised 162.

SophieLion · 02/08/2020 10:47

It was lovely, thanks MotherForkin. Well done you for getting a run in before your car journey. Hope it goes smoothly and have a lovely holiday.

5km run for me Today plus strength for whole body. Must try some HIIT again soon - for some
Reason really gone off it recently.

Days exercised 169

roonetta · 02/08/2020 12:32

Glad to hear you had a nice break SophieLion 😊. When you say “strength for the whole body” what do you do? Is it a specific programme?

Well done for the run before heading off MotherForkin - that’s dedication 😀

Hope you are feeling less tired Oubliette. Sometimes we have to listen to what our body is telling us ☺️

BR phase 1 cardio 1 done. I am going away for a week from next Saturday. This will be a real test for me whether I still keep it up when I have had a week off. We are staying in a caravan so don’t think I will be able to do any JM’ing while away. Hopefully not too many ice creams will be consumed 😳

SophieLion · 03/08/2020 10:21

HIIT today: JM's Hard Body L2 (hard and did not enjoy) plus strength for abs (day 13 of my 14 day challenge)

Roonetta, I couldn't be bothered to isolate body parts so just wrote strength for whole body. For strength I'm currently following workouts from
Lilly Sabri on you tube. I love her workouts. She has a lot of 10/15 minutes workouts for different body parts and they are very very good. Eg I could never straighten my legs in boat hold as my abs were weak after the pregnancies and now I can straighten my legs in boat hold. I tend to combine workouts and challenges to get a real variety.

Lilly sabri has an amazing, strong body - not too skinny. Just got and healthy and strong and I find that very inspiring.

Days exercised 170

roonetta · 03/08/2020 14:11

Thanks for that Sophie I am going to look Lilly Sabri up Grin.

I also don't want to be skinny, but would love to get 'ripped' like Jillian. I see a lot of inspiring posts on FB where women of my age (49) and older have got the most awesome arms and I am aiming for that. I also see my mum, who is only 69, struggling up and down stairs and I really don't want to end up like that, hence I have to suffer Jillian 30 minutes a day.

"With that said" BR phase 1 week 2 WO3 done Smile

roonetta · 03/08/2020 14:13

I just noticed how many emojis I put in my posts! Sorry! Will try to refrain from adding too many.

SophieLion · 03/08/2020 15:49

Don't worry re loads of emojis Roonetta. I always seem to have loads of typos which is much worse as always in a rush plus I struggle with keyboard on my Phone.

Yes agree with you exactly: want to be fit and strong and healthy. I also think flexibility is very important (particularly for me as I'm a bit lazy with stretching) so try to do yoga too.

How exactly does the Body Revolution system work? Is it 30 mins every day? Do you have to follow a set programme?

roonetta · 03/08/2020 17:30

Hi @SophieLion BR is a 90 day programme.
Phase 1 include 1-4 strength workouts and a cardio. You do workout 1 on a Monday, 2 on a Tuesday and then cardio 1 on Wednesday and then repeat for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Sunday is a rest day. Two weeks of this then move on to workouts 3 and 4 with cardio 1 for two weeks. Then you move up a phase. Hope I’ve made sense! They are all around 30 minutes. Smile oops emoji crept in.

roonetta · 03/08/2020 17:31

Meant to say there are three phases in total.

OublietteBravo · 03/08/2020 20:11

I could’ve sworn I posted yesterday, but apparently not - how weird. I took Fri/Sat as rest days, and then did NMTZ (50 min) yesterday.

A somewhat reluctant KB&T L1 and 30DS L2 (65 min)

(159/91; 159h 05min)

@roonetta - I think I like the JM DVDs because her assistants look like real people. I keep wondering if I should branch out beyond what I currently do, but I never actually do anything about it!

OP posts:
SophieLion · 04/08/2020 09:08

Thanks for the explanation Roonetta. So it's just 30 mins of JM each day? (Sorry to use the word "just". JM is never "just" it's always tough - if you get what I'm trying to say!!)

5km interval run plus strength for abs, underbutt, triceps and back

Days exercised 171

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 04/08/2020 11:22

I managed to get in for a proper swim early this morning, bit longer than usual since I had the lane to myself.

Days exercised 163

roonetta · 04/08/2020 11:37

Grrr, just typed a long post and lost it - pfft Angry

Anyway what I said was:

Oubliette - I know what you mean about branching out from JM's workouts, but I am scared that because she motivates me so much and I enjoy doing her workouts, if I try someone else I will lose motivation and give up. Does that make sense? I have a long way to go before I see the results I want anyway, and plenty of variety with JM, so will keep going. I think most of the assistants in the BR programme have bodies which are attainable, except for the men whose muscles are ridiculous!

I did look up Lilly Sabri Sophie - I see what you mean, she does have a phenomenal body! I also liked the fact that the workouts were short and included her cute dog and actually I might try and fit some in when I am away next week, along with some swimming to keep myself on track.

I bet it was nice getting back into a pool MotherForkin, especially having the lane to yourself. I think there are certain benefits to this social distancing nonsense Smile

roonetta · 04/08/2020 11:39

@SophieLion - sorry forgot to say, yes it is only 30 minutes a day - result! Grin
