Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

GrinGrin I thought you just said like the clippers instead of like the clappers in Ireland!!!

Sorry to hear you're a bit down Oubliette. Aren't things starting to open up there? My mum said her hairdresser might open start of July.

SophieLion · 23/06/2020 07:27

5km interval run plus strength for abs and butt

143 days

OublietteBravo · 23/06/2020 10:42

Things are starting to open up. But it’s not really helping. I don’t want to go to a non-essential shop or to the zoo. I’d like to see my family, but overnight stays aren’t allowed and they live 180 miles away.

I think it is everyone being at home all the time that is getting to me. DH and I have been WFH since 13 March, and we’ve both been told not to expect to be back in the office until 2021. The DC have both been at home since schools closed on 20 March. Hopefully they’ll go back in September - but that isn’t confirmed yet. So I’ve done 3 months of this and have at least another 2 months to go. And I hate WFH so much. I’ve always been allowed to do it, and always avoided doing so. It doesn’t work for me - I miss the physical separation between work life and home life so much. And the normal social interactions of office life.

As one of my friends put it: we aren’t WFH, we’re living at work. That’s exactly how I feel right now.

Oubliette SadThanks It is very tough. We are lucky that things have opened up here. But.... I can't go to england to see my family (I always go with the children in July) and no idea when I'll next see them so I understand a little how you feel. I'm lucky I popped over for a weekend in January before all this started.

Oh dear 2021 for working in office..... DH can go to office here (but I know london office isn't open) but prefers to work from home - and not in one place. He camps all over the house in random places and we all have to be verrrrryyyyy quiet wherever he happens to turn up.....

I hope things will improve soon for you

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 23/06/2020 19:11

Totally understand that Oubliette. I'm kind of the opposite...I have worked from home for years (I do consultancy so no office to go to!) and suddenly I have three extra people here all. the. time. School holidays officially start on Friday so we've two months of juggling the kids and work to keep up. Luckily they get on most of the time but it's pretty draining. DH's office is closed indefinitely, and it looks like they will push for a work from home model when they do reopen. I feel like I'll never be alone again.

Thankfully I have the box room as my office and dh has the converted garage we minimise working from the couch/kitchen. I think I'd definitely kill your dh, Sophie!! Funny how the kids can only ever find me when they need something though Hmm

Anyway, to avoid the walls closing in we went for a cycle this afternoon. Ds wanted to practice cycling to school on his new bike. And mobility flow.

OublietteBravo · 23/06/2020 19:35

Thanks both. I’m feeling more positive this evening. Probably because our restrictions are being lifted further from 4 July. I’m not really badly off - we have plenty of space, so I have my own office at home. But I’m definitely being less productive, and it bothers me that I’m not as on top of my workload as I’d like to be.

I just did a short session this evening. Strength: NMTZ (50 min).

Early run this morning. Dd wants to do couch to 5k so I'll do that with her this evening.

Weather is better here which is making everything else better. The sun has broken through the heavy, damp cold.

Days exercised 135.

OublietteBravo · 24/06/2020 19:39

Gosh it’s hot today (the high was 31C). But I still exercised. KB&T L3 + 30DS L1D3 (65 min) this evening.

One hour yoga flow class.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 25/06/2020 19:09

Hope you had a meeting-free day Sophie Wink

Mobility flow and run today.

Days exercised 136

SophieLion · 26/06/2020 07:12

No, not a "quiet" day MotherForkin !!

Today did strength for abs, butt and arms

Days exercised: 145 days

OublietteBravo · 26/06/2020 12:05

I did a very sweaty KB&T L1 yesterday evening, and then showered and worked until midnight. It was one of those days.

(133/117; 133h 20min)

OP posts:
MotherForkinShirtBalls · 26/06/2020 13:45

It's hot and sweaty here too, crazy thunder and lightening at 4.30 this morning but thankfully the rain has held off.

Weights this morning.

Days exercised 137.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 27/06/2020 17:45

Two runs today! Both short though. Ds wanted to do my hill run so we did the short loop early. It was really foggy and we only just missed the rain. Dd's couch to 5k run was this evening. Much brighter but still between the showers.

Days exercised 138.

OublietteBravo · 27/06/2020 18:46

I had a rest day yesterday because it was just too hot and I couldn’t face exercising. I’ve just done a short session today as I’m feeling really rather tired. 6W6P L1 (35 min).

(134/116; 133h 55min)

SophieLion · 28/06/2020 09:44

Yes it's tough exercising when it's hot. And probably Harder in England and Ireland because the houses just aren't set up for this kind of heat.

One hour of strength for whole body followed by a bit of yoga for stretching. Wanted to do cardio but I had another hyaluronic injection in my knee during the week and it still feels A bit sore. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to run.

Days exercised 146 days

SophieLion · 29/06/2020 08:11

5km run plus strength for abs

Days exercised: 147

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/06/2020 11:44

Rest day yesterday, although I spent it lugging boxes around the shed and attic in a mad motion to tidy the two. And I got two coats of paint on a chest of drawers which is moving room.

Weights this morning. And I'll do c25k with dd later.

How's your knee after the run, Sophie?

Days exercised 140

OublietteBravo · 29/06/2020 19:48

I had a rest day yesterday aside from the decorating. This evening I’ve done KB&T L3 and 30DS L1D4 (65 min)

(135/115; 135h 00min)

OP posts:
SophieLion · 30/06/2020 08:03

Knee is ok MotherForkin, thanks for asking. It's nice you can run with your DCs. I would definitely do that if I was allowed to run outside.

Strength for abs and underbutt plus yoga flow today.

Days exercised 148

OublietteBravo · 30/06/2020 19:47

Abs this evening: 6W6P L2 & KAbs L1 (60 min)

(136/114; 136h 00min)

I’m happy with that at the halfway point of the year (yes - I’m afraid there is still another half of 2020 to go)

OP posts:
MotherForkinShirtBalls · 30/06/2020 21:04

Busy day today so only a short run and mobility flow.

Days exercised 141

SophieLion · 01/07/2020 08:38

5km Run plus strength for abs (I'm doing a line 11 abs challenge - every day for 11 days)

Days exercised 149

OublietteBravo · 01/07/2020 19:02

I joined a Zoom session with a personal trainer (a group session organized by work) for a change. And then did Yoga Inferno L2 (the one with weights) to bring the session to a sensible length (70 min).
