Exercising into a new decade - AKA New Year-athon 2020

Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

I did the strength circuit from 1WS and KB&T L1. That’s 75 mins in total. I think I’m allowed to feel tired.

I also decided to do exercise early today : killer buns and thighs L1 plus strength for abs and arms. I am finding it so difficult to get motivated to do HIIT so proud of myself that I did it. It's very hot here and I ended up a sweaty mess - should have put the air con on!

I'm having a day off today. I slept terribly and so am exhausted now, it's ridiculously hot plus my knee is playing up (is that enough reasons not to exercise?! GrinWink)

I had a rest day today, and was so tempted to have another one you. But I didn’t. Somehow I found sufficient motivation to do Ri30L4 D5 and 1WS cardio D5 (60 min)

It's soooo hot here. Apparently the hottest May in Athens (greece?) for 160 years. My knee is really not good which I'm cross about so psyching myself up to do upper body work only.

Oh no, I hope your knee isn't anything too serious Sophie. I've a hip problem thanks children that gets better and worse and it's very frustrating. The heat sounds crazy. Hope everyone is safe.

I'm in the burbs but lucky to live within 20km of a couple of hills and forests. My usual run is a hill about 5k away with a good bit of woodland cover which backs onto a quarry on one side and the sea on another. It's beautiful and lots of different paths up and over. To try to reduce people going there the car parks are closed, so I'm going in different gates than usual so I'm being much more adventurous instead of just plodding my usual route and getting it done!

I hope your knee recovers soon @SophieLion. It’s quite warm here - and forecast to get warmer (27C tomorrow), although I’m sure you probably consider that to be relatively cool.

Thanks both. I'm very cross about my knee as I feel I've gone back to square one - pretty sure an overly tight resistance band during some underbutt exercises caused the problem. Wondering whether to go and see my orthopaedic. It's very frustrating not to be able to exercise properly. Yesterday I managed to do 45 mins of strength/toning for arms, back and abs.

I think it's supposed to be getting back to normal May temps here soon. Two of my children (upper School) have gone back to school (part time and finishing at 1:30) and they are so hot there as the school is very strict with safety measures and don't allow air con. Poor things....

It was hot today. I finished work thinking that I’d have a rest day. But in the end I persuaded myself to do a normal session: 6W6P L1 & Ri30 L4D6 (65 min)

I had a day off yesterday too @MotherForkinShirtBalls. I was hot and just couldn’t muster up the energy. It’s cool and breezy today so I’ll make sure I exercise after work.
