Happy New Year! I’m starting a nice shiny new thread to keep track of my 2020 exercise goals. Please feel free to join me.

My goals are:

  1. To do some exercise on at least 250 days during 2020;
  2. To do at least 200 hours of exercise.

I agree, Sophie, I'll go mad if I can't exercise during the upcoming mayhem. Luckily my two are old enough to entertain themselves/not whinge at me for an hour or so, so I'll be able to get some work done next week. Dh will also be working form home for the foreseeable future which will make things.... interesting Grin

I dusted off my kettlebell and some hand weights and did half an hour of weights this morning. Ds joined me for a few squats then decided Minecraft was more fun Grin

Days exercised 57

I’m so glad that (a) my children are teenagers; and (b) we have a large house. If when the schools shut they will largely be able to amuse themselves and we shouldn’t get under each other’s feet too much.

I left exercising until later in the day so that I had time for a longer session. Ri30 L3D2 & KAbs L2D2 (60 min)

Extreme shed and shred L2. Didn't enjoy it at all. It seemed to last forever and very pleased to have finished it!!!

Good luck to us all over the coming weeks !

Days 28 yoga challenge plus pilates/toning for upper and lower body

Days exercised: 63

Yesterday was kind of a rest day, went for a walk with the kids instead if anything more structured. Hill run early this morning before setting up "school" for a couple of hours.

Hope you're both doing ok!

Days exercised 58

OublietteBravo · 16/03/2020 12:06

I took yesterday asa rest day because I was busy clearing out the box room in order to turn it into a home office. I have all the equipment/furniture arriving this week. I’ll be more efficient and effective once I’m properly set up to WFH. Planning to exercise as normal this evening.

It's a bit strange here. We're all fine at home and children have been really good with their school work in fairness. But.... all shops now closing except for supermarkets and pharmacies and both of those have restrictions as to how many people inside at a time. I feel very unsettled.

On the positive side, I'm enjoying not having to get up as early for the school run or making all the lunches first thing in the morning.

I think I am a little bit stressed with all this - not so much getting the virus but all the controls : will I be able to get food etc etc. ?? And seeing all the people with masks and queuing outside shops. Exercise does help. Felt much calmer after yoga this morning.

OublietteBravo · 16/03/2020 20:00

I’m struggling with the fact that I don’t know how long this will last and can’t really make any plans at all. And it is all moving so fast - 2 weeks ago everything seemed relatively normal.

I was supposed to be going away with friends this weekend (within the U.K.) - it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. But 3 days ago I’d have expected to go...

Exercise is helping me keep at least part of my normal routine. I’ve just done KB&T L2D7 and 30DS L1D6 (65 min).

I completely agree with you Oubliette. sorry about your weekend away. We had a sports competition abroad cancelled and we will have to cancel our Easter trip abroad - i'd planned everything and we were all so excited. But we need to stay safe and no one wants to get stranded anywhere.

Did Killer Buns and Thighs L2 this morning. Not sure how long it is but with all the interruptions and stopping and starting, it took me about 1.5 hours!!!!

Days exercised: 64

OublietteBravo · 17/03/2020 12:38

@SophieLion - I think it’s about 40 minutes, so 1.5 hours is pretty impressive Grin

We’re quite fortunate. No trips abroad booked this year as DD has GCSEs - at least in theory. Normally we’d go away either for Easter or May half term (sometimes both).

Ri30 L3D3 and KAbs L2D3 today (60 min). I feel so much better for having done some exercise.

I did a couple of hours hacking at plants that have run wild in recent years months in the garden and pulling up far too many weeds. It was very therapeutic. For my official count I did half an hour of weights. It's so hard to know what to do and push myself.

And it's the weirdest St Patrick's day ever Sad

Days exercised: 59

SophieLion · 18/03/2020 16:04

Belated happy St Patrick's Day MotherForkin 🍀** One that won't be forgotten.....

5km interval run today plus pilates for core, arms and glutes.

Days exercised: 65

OublietteBravo · 18/03/2020 19:53

Everything seems a bit surreal at the moment Sad - but I’m determined to keep exercising through it all.

Abs for me this evening: both levels of 6W6P (65 min)

Day 29 of the yoga challenge (only one more day to go) plus pilates for legs, glutes, arms and core

Days exercised: 66

Have decided that my worst exercise move is the side lunge!

OublietteBravo · 19/03/2020 18:58

I did a short cardio circuit this evening: BFBM (50 min).

I had a major emotional wobble yesterday...my dad and brother are potentially very vulnerable and my brother is being a completely reckless ass about it all. So I took refuge in gin for the evening.

Back to it this morning and DD came for a run with me which was lovely.

Days exercised 60.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 20/03/2020 17:11

Scrappy exercise day today but I got a bit done... Skipathon with Dd this morning (I nearly died after 15 mins Blush), upper body weights routine and a short run with the kids scooting this afternoon.

It's been a long and unsettling week...hope you both are doing ok. We're doing a virtual Brownies meeting this evening and after that I can't wait for a Wine

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 20/03/2020 17:11

Oops, forgot to count

Days exercised 61.

OublietteBravo · 20/03/2020 19:31

I was so tempted to take this evening as a rest day. But I didn’t, and I’m glad I didn’t. KB&T L2D8 & 30DS L3D6 (60 min).

I am going to have Wine now though.

MotherForkin, completely understand how you feel. I think we'll all have good days and bad. Hope you felt better today. Thanks

I took a rest day today. Just couldn't muster up the energy to exercise (still got low iron which doesn't help).

OublietteBravo · 20/03/2020 20:24

I’m really finding that I’m anxious in the early part of the evening. When I’ve stopped work and the government updates are about to happen. Exercising is really helping with this. If the situation becomes especially drawn out, I might tweak my targets and make them more ambitious...

OP posts:
SophieLion · 21/03/2020 09:50

5km run plus pilates for upper and lower body toning.

Hope you both have a stress-free and relaxing day Smile

Days exercised: 67

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 21/03/2020 18:28

Got out for my hill run this morning which was much busier than I expected. The kids wanted to go hiking this afternoon so we headed to our usual haunt...which was rammed with people. They were stacked deep, the bloody idiots. We took off to a different area which had some completely empty trails so for most of it we saw no one. It was a beautiful day and we were all glad to get the change of scenery.

And now I'm baking away any lingering stress while listening to Kermode and Mayo Smile
