Happy new year all!

It’s January 1 and that means another 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene :)

Here she is. I’ll definitely not manage the full 30 days but who’s in?

OP posts:

Lulled into a false sense of security ... Turns out that I am really quite wobbly! Loving it.

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 08/01/2020 21:43

Just found this. Slightly late to the party but hope that is ok! I did day 5 this morning and day 6 just now. Playing catch up as I did a yoga class at the gym on Sunday and Monday but think from now on I will do Adriene every day regardless. I find her very encouraging but those boats were so hard! I had a moment of happiness during the first couple of planks then struggled through the last set then pow, boats. Still, I shall continue because I can feel the benefits - even just some deep breaths helped earlier today when I would normally have got wound up by something at work.

carrie74 · 08/01/2020 21:58

Just crawled into bed, no time today to do Adrienne, and unlikely to have time tomorrow either. Will catch up over the weekend...

SophieLion · 09/01/2020 07:43

Just done days 5 and 6 - since i'm building this into my exercise routine, I usually end up doing 2 sessions together.

I really love all her little tips eg make sure to push into your pelvic bone during cobra. Really improves each stance.

drspouse · 09/01/2020 08:30

I did day 7 before bed last night, just because it seemed the best for pre bed!

nibdedibble · 09/01/2020 10:08

I've been finding there's always a moment during the practice where I realise I'm smiling. Anyone else? It must be a release or something!

Day 6 for me today and I am feeling slightly nervous Grin

LittenKitten · 09/01/2020 11:11

Don’t worry @nibdedibble, Day 7 and 8 are yummy, so you have that to look forward to!

drspouse · 09/01/2020 12:04

Day 8 this morning and it was indeed yummy.

nibdedibble · 09/01/2020 14:11

Day six "done" (half-done!)

ChachyFace · 09/01/2020 14:19

Day 8- what a treat. Beautiful surrender.
(Apart from when trying to lie down and my abs couldn't do it, after yesterday's attempt at The Boat....).

TheGirlWhoLived · 09/01/2020 15:00

Sloooooow day 8, but I did I off the back of 6 and 7 so probably a good thing Grin all Caught up now

hanahsaunt · 09/01/2020 21:28

Perfect end of the day. Just lovely.

WreckTangled · 10/01/2020 06:57

Today's one look tricky!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 10/01/2020 07:41

I'm behind 7 days. oops!
Which would be a good one for a recovery from running one? My legs feel like they need a good stretch.

LittenKitten · 10/01/2020 09:16

@OhYouBadBadKitten Adrienne does a ‘yoga for runners’ one you could look at. I’ve not done it because I am in no way a runner 😁

nibdedibble · 10/01/2020 12:42

Nice to do 7 and 8 together. I'm only a day behind now but aware that it doesn't matter and wish I could stop feeling I need to do the right lesson on the right day Grin

Ulysses · 10/01/2020 15:31

Day 9 had me sweating I have to admit but it was a nice energetic start to the day and went by really quickly. My legs are quite stiff though as I went for a run yesterday and didn't warm down properly so my 3 legged dogs were far from straight. I also can never do a sweeping movement into a lunge and doubt I'll ever be able to do it gracefully. But hey, 9 days done on the trot

hanahsaunt · 10/01/2020 22:30

Sweating here too but all good. The time seems to fly by.

Ulysses · 11/01/2020 08:36

Day 10 - this was fine and relatively short at 18 mins. No, I still cant stand straight, bend down and put my hands on the floor but my finger tips were there!

ShinyGiratina · 11/01/2020 10:44

Day 10 done too. I haven't done them all since the start, but have picked them up over the last few days. I was doing Adriene videos anyway.

It's really complimenting the running from RED January and I'm sure I'm moving more freely than I normally am by this stage of the month Smile

I say moving freely... I never have got my hands near the floor in a standing forward bend, it just isn't my body's style Grin

PeonyStick · 11/01/2020 10:50

Late- so late.... late with starting dry January - what's the date ? Late with Adrienne..... not feeling ready to get into New Year agenda.... Starting today - have done days 0 and 1 ! Have a 2 litre bottle of water and have booked a summer fam hol at last ( after looking at it on my to do list forever and always concluding they are all too expensive ) .

LittenKitten · 11/01/2020 12:31

Missed my first day yesterday, so planning to squeeze 3 in this weekend

Weepingwillows12 · 11/01/2020 17:38

Did 6 yesterday (that boat thing, what was that!) and 7 today. Wasn't feeling it at all today but it's been a long week at work. Going to try and do another whilst the kids have tea and do 2 tomorrow so I am almost caught up. Dont like feeling behind.

My husband and thinks Adriene has a creepy voice but I think shes very soothing

WreckTangled · 11/01/2020 17:54

Really enjoyed today. Even got my fingers on the ground!

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 11/01/2020 19:10

I love her voice. DP scoffs but he spent too long in California as a young man to think yoga could be anything other than a hippy indulgence. But I shall convert him.
I’ve got as far as 7, but have done classes on the other days, so will keep going with my “yoga every day” resolution.
I’ve just done my first hot yoga class. It was gentle but very very sweaty. I can see that becoming an expensive addiction.
