Hello to anyone who wants to join me over here Smile

A few of us tagged onto the end of the new year/new you c25k gang but they were already at the end or had finished and so perhaps it is best for us to have a new one to discuss our newbie woes, aches and pains?

I’m at the beginning of week 3. Just been out again today, I should’ve done W3R2 but repeated w3r1 instead as I wasn’t comfortable last time, I think I took it too fast. Plus, it is ruddy boiling here today! It went much better and i’ll move on to w3r2 on Sunday.

Please join me, say hi and let us know where you are on the programme and update us on how you’re finding it.

Going for my first run tonight been 6 weeks due to illness. Downloaded an app and tonight is 30 min run mix of walk and run. Wish me luck Smile

W2R2 done! Tried to actually run a bit instead of a shuffling jog! Really enjoyed it even though I was a bit tired when I got home from work.
I had a sneak peek at week 3. Eek! Might have an extra run at the weekend to prep

Week 6 run 2 done again! It was much easier this time as I hadn't done a long dog walk before.

I must move on to week 6 run 3 but I've got a mental block about it. After this it's all continuous runs 25 mins plus. Argh.

Morning all.

I’m really bad. I’ve not been out since 5/4! A whole week off. Lazy, lazy cow. I could make a thousand excuses but the bottom line is I lost my mojo and couldn’t be arsed. I’ve strapped my trainers on and am off out for w4r2. Fingers crossed I’ve not totally ballsed up the good work I’d done over the weeks by having a week off.

I’m back, it felt ok. I was a bit breathless and chesty at the very end of the longer middle run sections (last 30 secs?) but kept going.

4.03km covered in total (that’s inc the warm up, cool down and everything in between) for w4r2.

Nice to see some new names on the thread Smile

Morning everyone! I completed W1R3 this morning and for some reason I found it harder than R2 even though it's basically the same thing! I've been listening to Run like a Girl on Audible which is motivating me to keep at it even when it feels really really hard!

Week 2 the repeat completed! I’m really pleased I decided to repeat it, todays run was really good, my breathing control is better and during the 2 min walk I was actually thinking come on Sarah, tell me to run again I’m ready!

Definitely feel more confident about moving on to week 3 now. Pardalis I felt the same as you , maybe a repeat of week 2 might help you too?

Love reading this thread, everyone’s doing great!

Wk4 complete today, unlike after wk 2, I feel ready for wk5!
Well done everyone! I'm looking forward to a 2 day break over the weekend.

Hello all :) completed week 4 last week but now I've had a week off as I needed to visit another city for a few days and my DS is off school now. Going to do another week 4 run tomorrow (no DS) but can't go out next week either (DS) so can't move on to week 5. Worried about losing everything I've done so far and dreading moving on to week 5. Any advice? X

Wk1 r2 completed. I really enjoyed it

The annoying thing was the app cut out about halfway through. Luckily I used the same route as last time so ran passed the point where I'd slowed down last time then set it to the walk. I might have to change from Jo Whiley though. She kept wittering on about keeping going even if my head was saying no but my head was actually enjoying the run. I found it annoying and counter productive.

How's everyone else doing?

W1R3 completed with the toddler in the buggy... managed to get away with not playing him nursery rhymes (oh how I miss the days I could play my own music!).

The 60sec runs felt easier but by the end felt a bit bleugh, but it's my heaviest day of my period so pretty sure that will factor in it. Laura should be bloody pleased I made it out at all quite frankly! I could have run Thursday but PMS definitely took over.

Next run planned for Tuesday if not before.

Anyone done a parkrun today?

W2R3 done this evening. It felt good but still mildly concerned about W3. However, it's supposed to be harder each time!!
I will probably repeat a run tomorrow for luck.
The bluebells in the woods are starting to come out. It's going to be lovely scenery for the next few weeks

Evening all! I completed week 1 today. Went well, except is it cheating to plan the route so you never run uphill?!

I'm absolutely loving it, I think mainly cos it's a half hour for myself where I just listen to my music and don't have to think about anything else.

Bedraggled I absolutely plan my runs to avoid hills! Which is extremely difficult where I live, I have to endure a few, I just go for the easiest I can, lol.

My brother always complains when he comes to visit. He lives in a very flat part of the country and has gone from never running to regularly doing 5-6k a few times a week. It makes me laugh when he visits and goes ‘but, there’s hills here!’

Can’t say I blame him, I love running (plodding) downhill and feeling like a proper athlete, lol.

Haha Curls I do my recovery walk uphill and when Sarah Milligan says "ready for your next run" I just turn around.

To anyone watching it must look like I'm having doubts about whether I locked my front door.

I avoid hills like the plague! I drive to avoid!

Just psyching myself up to do week 3 run1.

Week 3 is definitely going to be done over 2 maybe even 3 weeks because due to the Easter hols I can only get 2 runs in for the next fortnight.

I was actually having dreams last night about what route to take. Also dreamt I’d gone to someone’s house on DHs motorbike and then had to run but I only had flip flops with me 😜🙈

I'm psyching myself up for week 3 too. I've just come back from a repeat of week 2 run 3. On the last run I kept going after Sarah said stop. For about another 30 seconds. I just needed to break that mental barrier in preparation!
I'll start W3 on Tuesday

Pardalis that’s just what my friend did, she ran for 3 mins on her last 2 runs and found it fine.

I was really surprised at how easy I found it today, very pleased I repeated week 2, I was definitely ready to move on this week.

Even better. Fitbit shows my resting heart rate has dropped by a good few bpm and their heart health calculation shows an improvement in just 3 weeks, so chuffed!

Has anyone tried to incorporate running into their commute? I have a mile walk to the station in the morning and about the same at the other end and fancy running it. Or rather part of it. Or maybe even eventually! It's just the faff of having to shower and get changed at work that puts me off a bit.

Hi all, I also did W1R1 at the weekend and am trying to muster up the enthusiasm for the next run. I did a similar programme about 7 years ago and got to 10k in the end but I hated every single step Sad. I'm hoping to find a bit more enjoyment and achievement in it this time otherwise I'll never make the habit stick...

I swear our phones stalk us @newroundhere

I'm hoping to find a love for it too. Would be so much easier if we enjoyed it. I used to love spinning but it's just impossible to fit the gym into my day and isn't the same from home
