Hello to anyone who wants to join me over here Smile

A few of us tagged onto the end of the new year/new you c25k gang but they were already at the end or had finished and so perhaps it is best for us to have a new one to discuss our newbie woes, aches and pains?

I’m at the beginning of week 3. Just been out again today, I should’ve done W3R2 but repeated w3r1 instead as I wasn’t comfortable last time, I think I took it too fast. Plus, it is ruddy boiling here today! It went much better and i’ll move on to w3r2 on Sunday.

Please join me, say hi and let us know where you are on the programme and update us on how you’re finding it.

I'm debating doing this as did a parkrun (well parkwalk) this weekend and nearly died of shame. There's a huge array of apps out there, which one is best? I'm on apple not android.

Hiya Gast. Pleased to see you here Smile. I use the Fitness22 one on IPhone from App Store. It’s easy to use, you can play your own music or other audio and can customise the voice commands/support. It also records your route, time taken, distance traveled and approx cals burned. It does that for each individuals run and also gives you overall totals figures for the ‘lifetime’ of your training so far.

Wk4 R1 complete today - I can't believe I can run for 5 mins non stop!

I tied my laces looser today and my feet didn't want to explode at the end! Thankfully!

@mygastisflabbered Amazing, where did you get that headband? I feel I would run faster with one Grin

@NobodysDogsbody I got it from Etsy. I also had WW leggings on!

Week 6 run 2 done again. I can't imagine getting to the stage when it's easy. To be fair the second 10 mins was a bit happier than the first.

I keep thinking how old and fat and unfit I am. I feel as though I'll never be able to run and really enjoy it. I want to love it so badly!

Trying to look.on the bright side - I no longer have painful feet after running (This stopped me for years) and I don't feel too destroyed afterwards.

Oh - and I need a better bra. Bought one from m and s and it's rubbish! Wouldn't mind a vest either although a bit embarrassed about getting the bingo wings out in public

Checking back in - W5R1 with buggy complete, with a bonus few minutes running as my phone shut down the app mid run 🙄. Think I should try a different app but I don't want Michael Johnson to think I've abandoned him.
Saturday is my first big 20 min run. I'm away at Center Parcs so it will be a nice run, not sure if I should make it an easier run and not take the buggy, or really push myself (and the baby!) and do it as a buggy run ..

I am up to week 8 now - 28 minutes of continuous running completed! I can't quite believe I can do this now. In week 1, I was struggling with the 8 x 1 minute repetitions.

I am full of praise for the programme. I feel like it's been enough of a challenge to keep me motivated, but sufficiently incremental that I've been able to tackle each week as it's come up.

Helloooo

So pleased to find this thread! Hoping it will keep me motivated.

I completed W1R2 today, all my runs will be with the buggy though as I'm a solo mum to a toddler with not much childcare. He's 20 months now though and I'm still carrying the massive amount of extra pregnancy weight and probably the least fit I've ever been. 10 years ago I was able to run 10k and was a healthy weight. Now I'd love to just be able to make parkrun a weekly habit, but want to build up my confidence a bit first before running in front of people Blush

Look forward to seeing everyone progress!!

W2R1 done! I actually believe that this is going to work now. Had a technical glitch so 1st run was 2 mins long. Ha ha
I really enjoyed it. I can feel that my stamina is building. Last week 60 seconds killed me - ha ha
I fear I'm going to get addicted. I really hope so

Can I tip toe in and join you all please? I've attempted c25k before a few years ago but recently joined a running club and I'm fed up with being the half dead tortoise at the back of the pack while everyone else is running rings around me so I've downloaded the app again and completed W1R1 this morning. My app is actually c210k though so hopefully not too out of sync with everyone else!

Can I also join the party late, currently on week 4 but may repeat week 3 depending on how my first attempt at 4 goes. I’ve started and failed the program many times so really want to get through it this time

Hi everyone! I've just started, and completed run 2 today. It was hard but I felt great afterwards.

I am 42 and edging towards overweight. Feeling pretty unhappy about my physical state and health. I've tried dieting but it's slow progress so an hoping this will help.

I'm most impressed by the mental health benefits. I felt stressed about work, had a lunchtime run, felt like my head had cleared when I returned to work. This is amazing for me cos I'm a terrible worrier!

My shins hurt, I wonder if I need new trainers?

I'm rubbish. I was going to do W1R2 today but I had my hair cut and am seeing the boyfriend tonight so didn't want to ruin it by getting vaguely hot and sweaty Blush. I will go tomorrow though.

Hello can I join you all? Downloaded the NHS C25k app last night and went for my 1st run today (WK1R1).

I have been needing something like this for sooo long. Can't afford a personal trainer and hate the gym! I used to run about 10 years ago and loved feeling so fit and strong but have descended into a nearly 50 yr old blob. I am hoping like others have said that the increased regular exercise will spur me to eat better aswell.

The walk /run pattern was good although even this I found hard going towards the end but on the whole feeling encouraged and motivated.

Morning all. I'd like to join too if that's okay. I completed wk1 r1 this morning and feeling really good atm. I did start c25k a couple of years ago and made it to wk5 r1. Hoping to complete it this time around.

Hi boringbertha Grin (you cannot possibly be boring) I'm happy to see someone else also at the same stage as me. Everybody else seems to be so far ahead. Good luck to you too.

Fazackerly you're doing so well.

I'm also only in week 1. Meant to do R2 yesterday but as detailed below I failed miserably. Definitely on it tonight though.

W1R2 completed. Much harder than R1.
