Can I join?
I’ve been following for a while and decided to buy the beginner shred (I fear I’m too weak for 30ds). I’m up to L2 D4 and really enjoying it! My abs have definitely improved already (trying to lose the Mum tum).
Shock at using 2-3kg weights - I’m using 2 candlesticks which weigh about 800g each Blush. Room for improvement I guess...

NefretForth · 03/11/2018 21:59

Right, I'm starting again: I've been a complete failure this autumn. L1D1 of Ri30 today. Day two tomorrow, plus my yoga class. I pledge (so that I'm accountable to all the lovely people on this thread) that I will do it at least twice, ideally three times, in the course of the week. And I've spotted a yoga-with-weights class that I can do on a Friday if I leave work promptly, without interfering with anything else I want to do (like spend time with DH and DD).

I've just ordered Lift and Shred to give me something new to work on too.

Sturmundcalm, hope your ankle's better soon.

Welcome, miffmufferedmoof! I'm mostly using 1kg weights at the moment, so you're not the only one.

clearsommespace · 04/11/2018 08:09

Ooh a new 'face' (Welcome!) and a new (to me) JM workout....I shall be looking at reviews of that next.
L2 D6 of six pack complete this morning. No sign of a six pack yet though Grin.

I am only using 1kg weights for this DVD. There is such a lot of twisting and it is so fast, I am worried about injuring my back with heavier weights.

RI30 L1D2 done, off to yoga in an hour.

I'll report when the new DVD arrives!

clearsommespace · 05/11/2018 11:09

Please do.
L2 D7 this morning.
Tomorrow may be unplanned rest day. Think I may be coming down with something.

thanks clearsomme and netfret i took the weekend off cause of (a) ankle and (b) felt awful... got L1D10 done yesterday and starting level 2 tomorrow. think of me doing military leg presses Wink

miff - we'll see if i manage to use 3kg weights as i move up a level or whether i need to scale back! and this is my second cycle of doing 30 day shred fully, fourth cycle of starting it Grin when i first started i was using tins of beans which worked fine.

OublietteBravo · 06/11/2018 21:38

Hello! I’m back from my holiday and trying to get back into the swing of things. I did NMTZ yesterday and 6W6P L2 today. I really need to finish off Ri30, but haven’t worked up sufficient motivation to dive back into level 3 just yet.

clearsommespace · 07/11/2018 06:25

As I suspected, I am unwell. Have spent the last 36 hours alternating between sofa and bed, doing lots of sleeping and some reading. Also been doing lots of sweating, just to keep you all company Grin (Sorry if TMI)
It's actually quite fascinating how suddenly weak I am. Hope I get suddenly strong again when I've fought this bug!

Ri30 L3D4 (?) - I think that’s right. Ouch.

miffmufferedmoof · 07/11/2018 22:14

I hope you feel better soon clear. Being ill sucks so much.
I need to do L2 D7 in the morning. I’m starting to feel my motivation flagging slightly, and I keep eating chocolate bars which is going to be very counterproductive in losing the tummy fat!

clearsommespace · 08/11/2018 05:51

Thanks!
You can do it today AND you will feel doubly good about it for having had the will power!

OP posts:
miffmufferedmoof · 08/11/2018 11:17

I did it. I can definitely tell I’m getting fitter which is encouraging.
What do you guys do to measure progress? I took photos and measured my waist before I started. I think I wrote down my resting heart rate a while ago so I might measure that again when I’ve completed 30 days. I need all the help with motivation I can get!

clearsommespace · 08/11/2018 18:37

Well done!

I did Ri30 L3D4 (yesterday) and Ri30 L4D1 today. Yes - I know I haven’t finished L3 yet, I just fancied a change!

NefretForth · 10/11/2018 21:47

I didn't post in the week (too much else going on) but I'm now up to RI30 L1D5, and I've tried workout 1 in Lift and Shred. It's basically simple moves with heavy weights, and I think I probably need some heavier ones - the people in the DVD are using 10-15lbs depending on the exercise, and my biggest are 4kg. However, it's quite a good DVD and will mix in well with some of her others. I'll try L2 tomorrow.

NEfretForth · 11/11/2018 11:23

Did Lift and Shred L2 this morning to try it out. It's a bit more complicated than L1- I liked L1 as it didn't have any jumping or complex moves, so it was good for an uncoordinated individual with dodgy knees like me. L2 has some jumping, which was a bit disappointing. But I think it's quite a good DVD and I've ordered some 5kg weights: I'll aim to do it a couple of times a week to build strength.

clearsommespace · 11/11/2018 14:24

Thanks for the reviews.
I am planning on starting up again tomorrow. I have a slight cough but am no longer feeling drained by day-to-day activity.

I'm back exercising. Smile
6 week 6 pack L2 D8 today. I wasn't any faster second time round but I am pleased as I wasn't sure I would even get through it.

OublietteBravo · 12/11/2018 19:10

I’ve been diligently exercising, but keep forgetting to post.
Saturday: 6W6P L1
Sunday: 6W6P L2
Today: Ri30 L3D6

miffmufferedmoof · 13/11/2018 16:46

Hope you’re still on the mend clear.
Do you exercise every day oubliette? I’m doing 4 times a week at the moment and I don’t think I could manage more than 5.
Beginner shred L2D10 done today. I noticed a little bulging arm muscle when I was drying myself after my shower which wasn’t there before!

clearsommespace · 13/11/2018 21:21

Yes I am back to normal, thanks. So very grateful for good health. It must be terrible for thise who suffer from a chronic condition that wipes them out.

L2 D9 done this morning.

Exciting to find 'new' muscle.Smile

L2 day 10 done. I have to do 5 more of each level to complete the 30 days. I am planning on alternating them.

OP posts:
clearsommespace · 16/11/2018 06:24

L1 day 11 6 week 6 pack yesterday and L2 day 11 just done today.

I really appreciated it this morning.Exercise clears my brain and with everything so crazy in politics I really needed it. When I'm doing JM workouts I don't have any head space for anything else. (It's particularly true with this DVD because it's my first time.)

OP posts:
miffmufferedmoof · 16/11/2018 09:16

Yes I know what you mean. I did L3D1 yesterday and had to concentrate so much on following the moves (significantly more complicated than L1 and 2!) that I couldn’t think about anything else and it flew by.
Rest day today and I’m glad of it as bits of me are stiff from yesterday and I’m a bit sneezy too

Sturmundcalm · 16/11/2018 09:33

L2D6 of 30DS done this morning. I'm really struggling with the third circuit... chair squat and v raises followed by plank jacks is killing me and I'm having to switch back to lighter weights.
