30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

Clear I went for run/walk today instead too, it was lovely and sunny when I got up this morning so felt I should get out Not avoiding level 2 at all

clearsommespace · 04/06/2017 20:09

I haven't been for run in months because of a problem with my ankle so it was lovely to get out. My ankle was fine so I am really pleased about that. The long rest period seems to have been worthwhile.

Hello! Am recovered enough from hideous cold to Shred again! Yeah!

So just done Day 5 Level 1. I think, can't remember it's been so long. Noticeably harder today!

So aiming to complete Level - this week and start Level 2 next week.

Hello to all the people who've joined thread, so pleased there's a bunch of us crazy enough to do this!

Glad to hear you are feeling better.
I just completed Day 6 of Level 1 so am also aiming to move up next week. I only took a 2 day break from shredding and still found today a lot harder than Friday.

SeagullGirl · 05/06/2017 09:32

I've not been able to do the shred every day over half term etc, but I did level 1 day 9 yesterday and it didn't completely kill me! On the other days I've been doing plenty of walking/cycling.
The only thing I can't yet do is the full press-ups but I see that as more of a long-term goal...

toastedbeagle · 05/06/2017 09:53

@SeagullGirl yes press ups, I mean, how!! I think I managed 2 proper ones when on day 25 last time. And I only went down about 3", any further and I'd never get up again!!

I've just done level1 day3 and my DH joined me! I would like to say that I whooped his ass!

clearsommespace · 06/06/2017 06:36

Go hoop !
Day 7, L1 completed.
I was so stiff yesterday afternoon that I was dreading today's Shred. It was knowing that I'd have this thread on my list reminding me of my failure that spurred me on. It wasn't so bad when I got started.

chloechloe · 06/06/2017 08:00

Hello everyone, mind if I join you?

I really need to get back in shape as I've not done anything since having my second baby nearly 6 months ago. Am off on holiday in 6 weeks and really want to work off all the afternoon cake and evening chocolate which I've justified on the basis I'm tired and breastfeeding!

Today I am going to take my measurements and for maximum motivation compare them to my wedding day stats! Slightly terrified by the prospect.

beagle those photos are amazing motivation - thanks for sharing!

FritzyMousey · 06/06/2017 09:58

Welcome! I have my wedding measurements down as well that I've been comparing to Chloe ha ha!

I'm on Day 3 Level 2 clearsommespace I substituted the plank moves for plain planking as you suggested thanks. I felt a bit lazy as the planks are mostly in the cardio section! But more ab exercises can only be a good thing!

chloechloe · 06/06/2017 10:35

Just did Level 1 and am feeling quite good - think I was in desperate need of endorphins! I'm dripping in sweat though - it was never like this pre-baby!

Luckily the baby pretty much amused herself while I was doing it - 15 min in the baby gym and 5 min watching me with amusement from the bouncer.

clearsommespace · 06/06/2017 14:29

I'd forgotten that those plank moves were in the cardio section. I guess you could sometimes do something to keep up your heart rate and sometimes planks. Then eventually combine.
How is your back?

Chloe I'm impressed at you Shredding with baby awake.

FritzyMousey · 06/06/2017 14:38

My back has been fine thanks so that's the most important thing, it's definitely pushing me as I sweat buckets! Hopefully I'll get there eventually with the plank moves.

chloechloe · 06/06/2017 19:07

Shredding with the baby awake is the only option really clearsomme as she only sleeps half an hour at a time generally on my arm. She will sleep longer in the sling but that's no good for shredding. Evenings are no good either as she doesn't go down for the night until 10.

I'm contemplating getting up at 6 tomorrow to try and get it in before baby or toddler wake up!

toastedbeagle · 06/06/2017 21:47

@chloechloe that's sounds like a good idea, I might do the same.

I didn't Shred today but I did a 15 min FitStar app workout which was quite fun. It had those plank elbow pressups that feature in Level 3. My 2 year old DS thought it was a game and lay on the floor under me so I couldn't collapse down without squashing him... excellent motivation to keep going!!

clearsommespace · 07/06/2017 05:16

I do it first thing. DC messed with my biological clock and now I am the early riser and they sleep until the last minute (teens). It's harder to find time after work and there may be non-family members in the house. Just about to do day 7, L1.

SeagullGirl · 07/06/2017 13:08

Level 2, Day 1 for me this evening. Will report back.
I'm sure my shoulders are looking somehow more defined (I've never paid any attention to my shoulders before!).

FritzyMousey · 07/06/2017 20:56

Seagullgirl defined shoulders are a great achievement!

I'm on Day 5 Level 2 and still feeling incredibly uncoordinated with the moves. I'm almost up to Natalie's level with squat-like things, but planks and cardio I'm struggling withBlush

hoopdeloop · 07/06/2017 21:31

Such a daft question, but see if you are doing Level 1 and you have to do rest days, do you still have to do 10 days of the exercise at that level? Or does a rest day count as part of the 10 days at that level?

clearsommespace · 07/06/2017 21:40

I'm not counting the rest days. So doing Monday to Friday only it will take me 6 weeks to complete.

clearsommespace · 08/06/2017 06:25

Morning!
I just realised I counted wrong. Yesterday was Day 8 Level 1. Today should have been Day 9 Level 1 but I decided to do Level 2 instead.
I hate that last strength move. V fly? Whatever the name of the muscle it works on, mine are non-existent! Otherwise, not as bad as I feared.
I can't decide whether to stick at L2 (that would mean 12 days in total, eek!) or to mix in my spare L1 sessions.

SeagullGirl · 08/06/2017 09:38

Survived Level 2 Day 1. Agree those squat things are evil. Don't feel too bad today, but I think it's going to be a struggle to do the whole thing again tonight.

clearsommespace · 09/06/2017 06:42

Day 10 of Shred complete. I went back to L1 (9th session of that) because I felt tired. ( I didn't sleep enough due to watching the election coverage.)

chloechloe · 09/06/2017 20:16

I was naughty yesterday and skipped a day. Was planning to do it at 9pm after waiting for my dinner to go down but then ended up watching a film instead!

Today I got it out the way in the morning - I much prefer it like that, it makes the rest of the day much more relaxed

As motivation I'm planning to buy myself done nice new bikinis for my holiday in July!

FritzyMousey · 09/06/2017 21:29

I'm more of an evening person, 9 or 10 then a shower before bed! I've cheated today though as I've done a Joe Wicks workout from YouTube instead, I just couldn't face level 2 again!
