30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

Just watched it (no popcornHalo)
I think Anita might be my friend on this one!

FritzyMousey · 31/05/2017 14:32

I did that hockity, I left it playing a few times so I'd get the idea...I'm sure you burn calories just watching tooWink

clearsommespace · 31/05/2017 15:53

If you started to get stressed in anticipation, then you probably did burn more calories! Grin
Have you seen the push-ups in Level 3 yet?

hockityponktas · 31/05/2017 16:03

NoConfused buries head in sand over level 3

BWatchWatcher · 31/05/2017 20:00

What happens in level 3? Shock

hockityponktas · 31/05/2017 21:15

Don't know bwatch, I don't want to either after just doing level 2Grin!

BWatchWatcher · 31/05/2017 22:14

I fear level 3. Can I skip it tonight if I've ordered a Joe Wicks cookbook?

hockityponktas · 31/05/2017 22:58

Bwatch that seems reasonable enough to me!
I tried to do some of Joe wicks YouTube videos once. Disaster! I seriously lack coordination and some of his moves were right trickyGrin

Day 4, Level 1 completed.

clearsommespace · 02/06/2017 09:16

Day 5, Level completed. How's everyone else doing?
Rest day for me tomorrow.

FritzyMousey · 02/06/2017 09:46

I've missed the last 2 days but determined to get back on it tonight. My back ached a lot after starting level 2 but I'll try it again at a slow pace tonight and see how I go.

clearsommespace · 02/06/2017 15:44

Good luck!
Can you drop your weights a little. Would that help?
I did some pilates for a while and the instructor kept reminding us to suck in our abs all the time. IIRC she said it was to support our backs.

FritzyMousey · 02/06/2017 17:48

I think I will drop my weights on some of them, will defo try and hold my abs in, thanks for the reminder, don't want to give myself a bad back!

FritzyMousey · 02/06/2017 22:53

I think it's all the plank ones, I've never been very good at plankingBlush I think it'll take me a while to even catch up to Anita's pace on some of them so I might be stuck on level 2 for a couple of weeks, sweating buckets here!

clearsommespace · 03/06/2017 05:46

Perhaps at first you could aim to hold the plank for the required time instead of twisting and tapping?
It has been very close, hasn't it! We had a much needed huge storm last night.

SoupDragon · 03/06/2017 08:12

The first time I did this I substituted the exercises from L1 when I couldn't do the plank ones as I had back issues.

I've had 3 goes at it on different occasions (and am about to start again!) and in both the second and third I was able to have a go at the park ones so strength does build up and, surprisingly, stays for a good while actually. On subsequent attempts I was in no way as bad a state as the first!

hockityponktas · 03/06/2017 09:50

So I've had two days off due to a big day out and a monstrous hangover yesterday!
Hoping to attempt level 2 again this evening. I'm going to take it easy though as I could be put off the whole thing if I push myself with this I think!
I find it very hard on my arms, does anyone else?

goinggetstough · 03/06/2017 15:57

I have just got the Jillian Michael's DVD and this may be a silly question but how long do you do each level for. Is it just the same one set of exercises for level 1 which you do each day or are there different exercises for level 1 day 1 and day 2?

hockityponktas · 03/06/2017 16:02

Going, You do level 1 for 10 days, then move on to level 2 for 10 days and then 3 for 10 days.

goinggetstough · 03/06/2017 17:18

Thanks Hock

BWatchWatcher · 03/06/2017 17:23

Right! I ran this morning but will try and shred tonight!

TheVicarOfNibbleswicke · 03/06/2017 18:47

Hey shredders nice to find you! I'm on day 11 and just about died at starting level 2! It can't get worse though, surely! I've talked my husband into doing it with me and he's pin thin and fit from lots of walking but he finds it as challenging as me, which does please me!

hoopdeloop · 03/06/2017 20:35

Starting it tonight, using the YouTube videos. How many rest days are you supposed to have per level?

clearsommespace · 04/06/2017 04:23

Hello to all the new arrivals.

Hoop I have another Jillian Michaels DVD and she says to rest at least once a week. She doesn't say 'at most' but I would think for quickly noticeable improvements in fitness it would be best not to have more than 2 rest days a week.

clearsommespace · 04/06/2017 18:49

How is everyone doing? Such a lovely day where I am. Sunny but not too hot or close. Was supposed to do do level 1 day 6 but ended up going for a 30 minute run instead. I just had to get outside.
