30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

Bloody hell that is tough!

Day 1 done (ish) I did my best but I couldn't manage everything. Hopefully it has to be easier tomorrow. .......

SoupDragon · 24/07/2017 09:37

Doing your best is good enough! It does get easier (although maybe not tomorrow!)

I have fallen by the wayside. I do promise faithfully to get back into it though.

Howlongtillbedtime

It gets easier, well done on getting day 1 out of the way!

IronOrchid · 24/07/2017 13:32

Ri30 L2 D2 completed.

Feel as though I've gained back the few pounds I lost in Shred - too much wine and crap food! Wish I had the same motivation with the diet as I have for exercise.

Honkyzeke · 24/07/2017 17:50

After a weekend off D3 L1 of 6w6p, I think I like this one! I'm not getting the hang of the side plank things though can't keep my balance!

UsernameTaken2 · 25/07/2017 01:21

Howlong, it'll take a few days but it will get easier.
I've done two days then a rest day, and now I've done 3 days straight. I do mine at night and then I can shower and crawl straight into bed, as that's the way my body feels happiest.
The past couple of days the actual workout feels a bit harder, and I'm sweating much more but the soreness has gone (thank God)
So I've now just completed level 1 day 5 Grin

Howlongtillbedtime · 25/07/2017 06:52

Thanks for the encouragement everyone.

My legs are very ouchy today but I will do day 2 today. Not sure what time would be best? I am working nights now till Friday and don't want to be knackered at the start of my shift.

IronOrchid · 25/07/2017 20:49

Ri30 L2 D3 done. Two rest days ahead - yippee!

Rainatnight · 25/07/2017 20:52

Can I join in? I'm going to do Jillian's Beginner's Shred. It's a bit gentler, which makes me feel like a bit of a cheat, but I have lots of joint problems and worry that I'll injure myself if I start with the full monty.

alicemalice · 25/07/2017 21:42

Is anyone starting from scratch? I've just done L1 D2.

Honkyzeke · 25/07/2017 23:51

D4 L1 6W6P still struggling with side plank things, I think if I don't get the hang of them in the next couple of days I will replace them with another Jillian exercise.

alicemalice

Howlongtillbedtime is at around the same point of 30DS as you are Smile

You're all doing great keep up the good work!

UsernameTaken2 · 25/07/2017 23:56

Day day 6 of level 1 done! I can't believe I'm managing this! The thing is I'm craving high fat and sugary foods more since starting this so I'm not sure if I'm going to see any results Hmm

Rainatnight · 26/07/2017 05:51

That's what I'm worried about! I really need to eat less too, in order to lose weight, and I'm worried that this is going to get in the way of that.

Does anyone have any good ideas for post-Jillian snacks that help get you over the hump but don't undo all the good work?

Honkyzeke · 26/07/2017 07:26

I often have a bowl of Greek yogurt, granola and berries maybe a drizzle of honey if really craving sweetness after exercising, rice cakes with peanut butter and banana slices, hummus and pitta bread.

alicemalice · 26/07/2017 13:01

Thanks Honky

I've just done L1 D3 - feeling so much better already.

Can do the push ups properly now so it really does make a difference.

Rainatnight · 27/07/2017 10:11

Wooh, I've just done my first one! Feels really good. I need to stop giving myself a hard time for doing the beginner's one. It's definitely what's right for me health-wise.

honky thanks for the snack ideas!

SkeletonSkins · 27/07/2017 19:47

Have just done L1 D2 and already found things a little easier. Have had a couple of days where I did a similar exercise class too so think that has helped. I get paranoid when she says what we shouldnt be doing and start doing it wrong as I'm concentrating too much! I was doing it correctly before that!

SoupDragon · 27/07/2017 19:48

L2 D1. Again 😂

UsernameTaken2 · 27/07/2017 23:52

Skipped it last night but really wish I hadn't. I didn't feel particularly tired or worn out so I could have done it really.
Anyway, just done L1 D7?? I still can't do proper push ups but I haven't really tried if I'm honest. Is it better for me to do lots of beginner push ups or struggle through just one or two proper ones?

I've also noticed I'm a hell of a lot faster at things

SoupDragon · 28/07/2017 06:23

I used to start with proper push ups and force myself to do one more each time.

Rainatnight · 28/07/2017 07:17

Does anyone else find those push ups you do balancing on your knees REALLY hard on your knees?

SkeletonSkins · 28/07/2017 12:29

To be honest I found all of it hard today!! Honestly wanted to give up so so much. Finding the lunging ones difficult and not sure I'm going anywhere near far down enough to have any impact but I'm knackered at the end so maybe? Find it really hurts my legs to go any further. Oh well keep going!

babba2014 · 28/07/2017 19:42

My legs hurt too. Take a day off. It will get better.
Level 3 tomorrow!

UsernameTaken2 · 28/07/2017 22:55

I feel knackered today so I'm gonna skip tonight's workout. I'm hoping that by getting to bed at I sensible time tonight, (and not 1:30 as I have been previous nights) I can get UP at a sensible time and not the 10:30 that I have been doing lately Blush

Rainatnight · 29/07/2017 08:59

I'm quite sore today! Confused
