30 Day Shred... anyone want to join me?

I started in Feb and managed 25 days or so but got a stinking cold and my whole health kick went down the drain. Think 8lbs heavier now Shock

I started yesterday with Day 1 Level 1 and determined to keep up with it.

I've also started playing tennis again and I'm determined that by my hols in 7 weeks I will be fitting back in my size 12 clothes.

Anyone want to join in with some daily motivation?

It's my day off today and tomorrow back on to level 2 day 3. Might take it easy Anita style if my legs muscle don't like me.

IronOrchid · 19/07/2017 20:36

L1 D6 Ri30 done.

Still can't do hollow man Blush

My spotty dogs are like floppy running man(men?) clear - lot less oomph. Plus they sound cute, so less intimidating!

Honkyzeke · 19/07/2017 20:47

Just finished 30ds, starting 6 week 6 pack tomorrow, my weight hasn't changed much but inches have gone and I'm down a dress size so will continue as still a bit more toning to do.

Honkyzeke · 19/07/2017 21:03

And just ordered ripped in 30, kickbox fastfix and yoga meltdown so that should keep me going until Christmas! Grin

Thanks for the help guys.
So tonight I watched a YouTube video and followed that on my phone.
I found a portable DVD player in the back of the cupboard a couple of days ago and I've managed to get hold of the dvd so I'll be using that tomorrow night.

It's so warm and muggy I would never have managed it in the morning.

It seemed to be over a lot quicker than I expected but that's not to say it wasn't hard!! (Even though I know I was following the beginner girl more)
I just hope my legs don't ache too much tomorrow Grin

I'm off on holiday today. Keep up the good work everyone!

IronOrchid · 22/07/2017 17:28

L1 D7 done!

On to L2 tomorrow - wonder what surprises Jillian will have in store... Shock

Have a fab time, clear!

Oh my God, the pain! I've done two days of the shred and my legs were so sore. I've been walking around like a frail old lady. It's the muscles on top of my thighs (I think it's my quads?)

Last night it was tipping it down and I could barely walk so didn't do the shred. Getting back on it tonight

It does get better I think the first 5 days or so my legs were quite achy, walking up the stairs hurt like anything but it does get better I promise!

UsernameTaken2 · 22/07/2017 22:05

Oh I hope so, I'm going to try and do at least three more days in a row before I have another rest day. Did you manage to do all 5 days without a break?

Freshprincess · 22/07/2017 22:32

Yay a Jillian Michaels thread. I bought the DVD ages ago, started many time but never quite made it to level 3.
I restarted this week determined so I'm up to day 5 of level 1. I haven't found the legs work too difficult (I'm also training for a half marathon) but arms and abs are killing me. I was pleasantly surprised today that I managed 5 press ups (Anita style on my knees) without collapsing on the floor.

Honkyzeke · 22/07/2017 22:34

Yes I did 5 straight days then took weekends off but I'm sure doing 2 days having a day off then doing 3 days will work just as well, I think I really did 5 days straight because it's what I could fit into a normal weekday and don't really have time at weekends, I also gave myself an end date to finish the DVD so I didn't skip too many sessions! I'm now doing 6 week 6 pack and I'm doing the same week days only and an end date.
I don't think you can go too wrong with these short intensive workouts as long as you do them at regular intervals.
Keep up the good work it will get easier.

babba2014 · 22/07/2017 22:57

Level 2 day 5 today.
Can't believe I'm enjoying level 2 now. I was really out of breath even by doing Anita style as my leg is still aching. Need to sort that out.
Current weight loss with healthy lifestyle is roughly half a stone

UsernameTaken2 · 23/07/2017 17:34

Last night was day 3 level 1, and I'm not sure if I wasn't putting in as much effort or it was the super loooong quad stretches I did afterwards, (or even because I'm getting used to it!) but my legs feel fine today! Almost as though I haven't done any exercise at all!

I'm actually looking forward to tonight's session Shock

Maybe it was the days rest that made the difference! Smile

IronOrchid · 23/07/2017 18:48

L2 D1 of Ri30.

What is it with level 2s and blimmin' planks?! Plus, getting used to the new exercises in a level is exhausting enough without dratted mountain climbers. Oof.

Tsuipenongin · 23/07/2017 19:00

I've just picked my Jillian DVDs back up now the kids are off school and I can't run so often. Started RI30 on Fri evening and ow! My legs! It hurts more than a 10 mile run. I blame the fast feet.

Howlongtillbedtime · 23/07/2017 21:15

Any fatties doing this ? I am 2 1/2 stone heavier than I would like and I am tempted but don't want to actually die.

What are my chances ? And can I watch it for free somewhere ?

Honkyzeke · 23/07/2017 23:05

Howlongtillbedtime

I've not really lost much weight doing 30ds but have lost inches, once you get into it and start seeing results it's really motivating. It's intense if you're not used to exercise but it's only 25 mins so although I can't guarantee it I'm pretty sure you won't die from doing the shred! Smile
Don't think it's available free online though.

babba2014 · 24/07/2017 00:01

I'm a fatty. I used to be really skinny and then past three years I've gone mad eating away.

So I'm on level 2 day 6. I was going to skip today as I've not been feeling well but I ended up doing it anyway. And I'm glad.

I've lost weight and I feel like my waist is back so go for it. But eating healthily and not over eating is also important or progress will be very slow.

Thank you , I have a rare day home alone today so I am going to give it a go.

I am on a bit of a mission to try and sort myself out over the holidays so this seems like a good kick start.
