Made it up to Glasgow to train with my Kettlebell coach. WAiting for the train home now. Good session - did my first ten minutes set and survived!!

On the down side I've realised I have Achilles tendinitis. I have a lump on my tendon. That's why I'm hating the running at the moment.
117/133 here too oub!

KanyesLunchbox · 05/06/2017 18:52

Oh, is that a big problem to fix, *RJ?

Well done Random!! How are you feeling?

I got nothing done at all last week due to various complications, so today's 10k was a real struggle. The atmosphere was brilliant (30,000 women running) but the weather went from hot and humid to cold, torrential rain in the space of 4k. I have established though that I can't run during the day (2pm start today) and I don't have the stamina or gastric stability for more than 8k. Important lessons learned I think!

RJnomore1 · 05/06/2017 19:37

Well done though Kanye!

It's not major as it's not a bad case yet but I need to lay off running to let it heal as I could make it worse. I only run about 10K a week though so that's no great loss I'll fling in some more plyo moves in weight sessions and a bit more boxing and rowing. Meant to ask if skipping can damage it more.

Two weeks to my holiday and it will get a good rest anyway.

randomsabreuse · 05/06/2017 20:51

Wasn't too bad once through the immediate aftermath. Rest day yesterday and a gentle fairly flat 5k with the running club this evening. Was feeling it a bit on the 5k - slower than usual and working harder - but still faster than in April according to Strava so obviously the training is working. Have also managed to dip (just) under 80kg for the first time since my 6 weeks sulking with achilles tendinitis in February!

RJnomore1 · 05/06/2017 21:20

Was that what you had random? What did you do to fix it?

randomsabreuse · 06/06/2017 07:20

Yes, mostly caused by very tight calf muscles so it was a case of cold on tendon, heat on muscles, gentle stretching and massage by physio. Still need to be careful on the stretching.

Impact was a bad idea but I should have been doing loads of non-impact stuff rather than sulking and eating chocolate.

Still a bit wary of star jumps as they seem to aggravate my ankles more than running (probably because it's the lateral muscles that are the tightest)

RJnomore1 · 06/06/2017 07:25

My calf muscles are ridiculously tight so that's definitely where it's from with me too. I'm stretching rolling and had acupuncture a few weeks ago - will add hot and cold tonight.

blodynmawr · 06/06/2017 12:21

Back to normal JM routine this week after last week's holiday which ended up being quite lazy with hardly any walking....
Next hols are at the end of July so need to keep up the routine until then Smile.

RJnomore1 · 06/06/2017 18:46

Kettlebell fitness tonight, I'm knackered! Did gymnastic hollows at the end - that is one bloody tough move to hold for 30 seconds.

118/132

I'm on target to hit the halfway mark before I go on holiday on 20th!hooray!

OublietteBravo · 06/06/2017 19:27

I'm feeling tired this evening. I still managed to put my kit on and do NMTZ.

Oubliette, you put me to shame - I'm always impressed by the way you keep going even when you feel unmotivated. I'm feeling tired and crappy, but not really ill, and haven't motivated myself to exercise since we got back from holiday on Sunday. Tomorrow I turn over a new leaf.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 06/06/2017 21:56

Hi all, planned rest day today but ran 4.5k yesterday.

Yes, Oubliette and RJ you are very motivated. LordPeter, there's always tomorrow Grin.

OublietteBravo · 07/06/2017 19:01

A shorter session today (because I'm going out): 6W6P L1

Metafit tonight

Yesterday was lovely; I worked til 6 then met dh at a local place for their early diner menu and a couple of drinks. Not planned but I think it was worth it as it's peeing down again now.

Also I've been trying to eat a bit better on and off but most definitely not dieting; I got some photos through from a work event, for the last few years I'd have deleted the ones with me because I'd have looked awful. I didn't mind "posed" ones cos I could hide at the back but not the candid/roving reporter ones.

These are okay! One I actually look NICE in. I reckon it's the consistency of training. Very morivating. Trx is definitely coming with me now,

LordPeterWimsey · 10/06/2017 11:06

I'm finally back - I've had an evil cough for weeks, and was doubled up with it on Wednesday and Thursday. Then I saw the exit poll on Thursday night and abandoned any idea of a good night's sleep, and was a coughing zombie yesterday. But today I'm back on it in spite of the cough: 30DS L2 done.

OublietteBravo · 10/06/2017 11:58

I had an unscheduled rest day yesterday. I sensibly went to bed after the exit poll was released, but then tossed and turned and kept dreaming that the exit poll was wrong and the Tories had a massive majority (my alarm went off just as Corbyn was about to make a resignation speech having only won 92 seats). It was quite a relief to check the news and see that the exit poll was largely correct Grin

So basically I was feeling tired and didn't exercise.

I've done 6W6P L1 this morning and a shed load of washing from DD's damp and muddy trip to Wales

I had arest day yesterday too, got held up in work missed my pt (raging but she was fine) then had to stay in work til 9pm 😡

Left for gym today got 300 yards in 15 mi utes on main road 😡 Turned came back and just did a blistering rage set with the 12kg which is the heaviest Kettlebell I have at home but I did comp length sets and basically I'm ready for comp now - will see how I feel after two weeks holiday though with only 5 training weeks to go....

RJnomore1 · 12/06/2017 18:51

Made up for missing fridays pt by adding in a blistering one today. Then had to go back to work for the afternoon. I'll sleep tonight.

Haven't been able to post for the last few days. I had a bad week last week, work and being completely wrecked conspired against me so I did some easy core work sutmring the week. On Friday I managed a 6k walk to a very boozey dinner weights on Saturday and 5k plod last night. Late meeting tonight gave me a rest day, planning the gym tomorrow.

OublietteBravo · 13/06/2017 19:22

Ugh. Feeling very hot and sweaty. Just done 30DS L2D7 & 6W6P L1D3.5

(95h 30min; 123/127)

Getting close to the half way point for both targets - which presumably means I'm on track.

RJnomore1 · 13/06/2017 19:35

No training here. I was all set for class but it's dds prom and dh had gone hillwalking so I went home to take her as he hadn't texted to say he was on way back. Of course he turned up five minutes after class started 😬And she wasn't ready till after it would have ended anyway . So spent 30 minutes stood around waiting while she got photos and now I've just given up an I'm in the chip shop.

Tomorrow will be a better day!

OublietteBravo · 14/06/2017 19:54

I did NMTZ this evening - in two parts because I had to collect DS from cricket. I think it still counts though.
