Come and join us in our attempt to do 30 min exercise as often as possible.

Set yourself a target (e.g. 5 days a week, 20 days a month, etc.). Any kind of exercise counts: walking, running, swimming, cycling, dancing - or any other activity that expends energy.

Sod's law, I was awake at 8 this morning. While Dh snorted I did 7.5km run and walked 1km at the end. It's horribly hilly round these parts! I'm feeling very virtuous that I did 12k steps before breakfast, so I'm off to the thermal suite for a few hours Wink

Thanks for the pep talk everyone! I managed to exercise first thing today (6W6P L1). Just warming up - and drying off - after spending 2 hours watching DS playing rugby in the rain. Wood burner lit Wink

Thai boxing for me today, followed by a visit to my mums though where I fear I ate far too much cake.

I'm a bit achy tonight but not planning a rest day till Thursday this week.

OublietteBravo · 13/11/2016 09:19

Feeling a bit stiff this morning must be getting old. I've just done Killer Abs L1and now I'm off to soak in the bath for a bit.

Sore core session this morning, instead of doing mma circuits we did two minutes on the punchbags two minutes core exercises on the TRX machine, I'd recommend it if you really want to strengthen your core and obliques.

Oub you are within spitting distance of your goal now, that must feel good!

LordPeterWimsey · 14/11/2016 07:01

Killer Abs L1 done - hopefully the start of a week back on the wagon! Planning to start the 5:2 diet this week too as I'm feeling blobby as well as out of shape.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 14/11/2016 11:35

30 day shred level 2 done this morning. Although DD2 kept interrupting me so had to stop a few times. Don't know whether to try another one of Jillian's workouts now or to plough on with this one. On the plus side my abs definitely look better Smile, I noticed this morning Smile. So it is obviously doing something.

On the other I am still finding it hard and wondering when I will ever find it easy enough to move to level 3 Confused. Perhaps because I'm only exercising 3 times a week but am deliberately doing that because it is sustainable. In particular strength is tough. Would much rather find things too hard than too easy though as otherwise feels as if I am wasting my time.

Hope everyone has a good week.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 14/11/2016 11:36

Any recommendations? Should say improving my cardio fitness is my priority. Am hoping to get back to a bit of running too next week.

KanyesVest · 14/11/2016 21:41

Running is the only thing that works for me stressy. Hills and intervals are supposes to be great, but I can just about survive a steady plod!

I found a video on pinterest last night 2 years after the rest of the world did with a new craze called pilloxing. I tried a 20 min video. It was very jazzercisey, but I didn't break a sweat or get at all puffed. I wish I'd gone for a run instead Confused

Anyway, going to be a hard week for exercise, it's my busiest week of the year in work, so hopefully I'll get a couple more sessions over the week.

KanyesVest · 15/11/2016 18:33

Just did 30 min run, which was faster than normal and felt hard but good after a stressy day at work and more to do tonight

OublietteBravo · 15/11/2016 19:38

Hello - I had a rare mid-week rest day yesterday. I had a working lunch, so by the time I'd got home from work and taken DS to his swimming lesson I was starving. Thus food won over exercise.

This evening I've walked a couple of miles (on slippery leaves - I'm sure the balancing is good for my core or something) and 6W6P L1.

Jerk prep day yesterday just to add to the core muscle agony. Really feeling done in at kettlebells class tonight but my rest day isn't til Thursday this week. PT session with my weights trainer tomorrow. After a couple of weeks of PBs it might be a bit of a plateau.

I'm a bit of a fanatic stressy but if you want to do cardio and strength at once have you considered kettlebells training?

Kettlebell snatches burn more calories than anything else apart from fast uphill cross country skiing - 20 calories a minute.

LordPeterWimsey · 16/11/2016 07:04

Biked to work yesterday, but nothing else as DD was wakeful in the night again. Just done 2 of the 10MBT workouts, and hoping to get something done this evening too.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 16/11/2016 18:34

Hello all, thanks for tips. RJ, I doubt I am at your level at all but will Google kettleballs. Can I do it at home?

Did 5k run yesterday and ankle was ok so that's great. Rest day today and have big assessed course for next two days so next bit of exercise will be the weekend.

OublietteBravo · 16/11/2016 20:00

I've done Killer Abs L1.

I'm now frantically tidying because:
(a) my cleaner is on holiday;
(b) my sister and nieces are coming on Friday afternoon (rather than Saturday lunchtime); and
(c) my mother found out about the visit (see (b) above) and has invited herself along which I'm really pissed off about because it is the second time in less than 2 months that she has invited herself to stay and I really don't want to see her

Yes you can do it at home if you buy a kettlebell - they aren't expensive and do not take up much room!

KanyesVest · 17/11/2016 08:01

Short run this morning, only 25mins in the rain.

OublietteBravo · 17/11/2016 19:41

6W6P L1 this evening (incorporating evil abs circuit from NMTZ).

I've had two days off now and four ciders out at a gig with dh. Aargh. Got a pt session tomorrow at least.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 17/11/2016 23:07

RJ, hope you enjoyed the ciders Grin. Everyone needs some time off! Nothing today but was expecting that, busy all day at course tomorrow too. Will investigate kettleballs for the future.

KanyesVest · 17/11/2016 23:27

Oh, ciders sound lovely... Enjoy.

OublietteBravo · 18/11/2016 19:03

Ooo - I really finch a cider or two.

Managed to do Killer Abs L1 this evening. Have to entertain guests now.

Straight back in there with a push press PB today. Sweated the ciders out!

KanyesVest · 18/11/2016 20:35

Good work RJ!

Oubliette I hope your sister who is the kind who brings alcohol and fancily packaged calories and not just your mum.

No exercise today but I was on my feet for about 11 hours in painful but pretty shoes. Bloody pedometer on my phone says I only did 8000 steps. I know 8000 steps and I did about twice that! Lovely takeaway Indian finally awaits me before a repeat tomorrow with a proper pedometer
