Come and join us in our attempt to do 30 min exercise as often as possible.

Set yourself a target (e.g. 5 days a week, 20 days a month, etc.). Any kind of exercise counts: walking, running, swimming, cycling, dancing - or any other activity that expends energy.

Killer Abs L1.

(249/51)

Only 1 day behind (I need to average 25 days a month to hit my target). Hopefully I'll manage to catch up during November...

6W6P L1 (with the evil abs circuit from NMTZ).

(250/50 - or 5/6ths of the way to my 2016 goal).

BTW - only 60 days of 2016 left Shock

Wow - well done, Oubliette!

I did the Calisthenics section of 10MBT this morning (very hard, several very difficult moves and one totally impossible one- I've been trying for years now to do a wheel push-up, and I just can't: some important bit of my shoulders or upper back isn't strong enough to get my head off the ground), and the Pilates one this evening, and cycled to work and back in between. So quite an effective day's exercise.

Hope you're feeling better, RJ.

RJnomore1 · 01/11/2016 20:57

Still sniffing but I did my kettlebells class with the 20kg weight for the first time and I didn't put it down once so not too bad a day! How's everyone else?

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 01/11/2016 21:03

Hi all, complete fail here as now have a cold and feel generally miserable plus ankle still sore. Think my body needs a rest :(

OublietteBravo · 02/11/2016 09:02

Hope you feel better soon Stressy - it does sound like you need a rest.

I did Killer Abs L1 this morning and then walked to the dodgy end of town and back to pick up a parcel. No more exercise for me until Friday evening as I'm off to Munich on business in a couple of hours.

Hi all, had a bad few days for motivation, compounded by minor family dramas, a trip to my sister at the other end of the country and a croupy cough (me, not a child), but I'm going to force myself out tonight. I know I'll be glad I did it when I get home, but it's veeerrry hard to get going....

Oubliette, you're doing amazingly, well done! Munich is gorgeous, hope you have some time for beer drinking sight seeing. Hope everyone else who's not well is on the mend soon.

KanyesVest · 02/11/2016 21:29

I was right, I'm glad I went! I thought I'd do 3.5k, hoped I might manage 4k, but I actually did 5k, and pain on breathing aside it was pretty ok, and reasonably fast for me.

RJnomore1 · 02/11/2016 22:40

Weights session today. I am starting to really feel and see a difference and I'm loving it. We are in November now but it's great everyone is still going strong!

Steady are you feeling any better?

LordPeterWimsey · 03/11/2016 21:33

Rest day yesterday - my turn to have done something to my ankle. It's a bit better today so I cycled to work, but haven't wanted to do anything that would put too much strain on the ankle.

Hope you're having fun in Munich, Oubliette.

RJnomore1 · 03/11/2016 22:12

Metafit tonight. It was a bit less intense than usual. Probably good as I went heavy with weights tues/weds and I'm back in with my PT tomorrow.

Promised 16yo did I'll go Thai boxing with her on Saturday. It's been a while 😕

KanyesVest · 03/11/2016 23:37

10km walk tonight. I think I would have preferred a run, but I was with a friend and she doesn't run. Then again, there's no way I'd have been able to talk and run, so it would have defeated the purpose Blush

OublietteBravo · 04/11/2016 06:56

Munich was great. I go quite a bit, but rarely get time to look around. My appeal hearing at the EPO was over by lunchtime (I won) and my flight wasn't until 19:20, so I actually got to wander around for the afternoon. Smile

KA&B L1 done this morning. In what world are one-armed burpees a level 1 move?! Ankle seems fine now, so no idea what I did.

Congratulations on your win, Oubliette!

OublietteBravo · 04/11/2016 19:28

I've just done Killer Abs L1.

Hi all, I'm still here, thanks for thinking of me!! Cold much better, still have cough but am OK really. Ankle still dodgy and I think at some point I'll have to see a physio as it is a long term problem and every so often I re-injure it. Putting it off though (I know I shouldn't) as it will be ££. Am thinking I actually need new trainers and was hoping to get some for Xmas / after Xmas. There is a really good running shop in town which does gait analysis etc and might see if I can get some advice included in the purchase :) . If I could properly rest it things would improve but I have a 3 and a 6 year old plus it's my right ankle and I walk and drive a lot so not much chance of any real sustained rest. I know it's not a substitute for a physio (am a HCP myself but not physio unfortunately!) but will be better than nothing.

Is DD1's bday party this weekend and have loads of people coming so wouldn't get any exercise done sat or sun anyway. Going to try to ice it as much as poss over the weekend and hopefully start something gentle on Monday again.

Hope everyone else is ok, have missed being able to post on this thread Smile.

OublietteBravo · 05/11/2016 10:05

Hi Stressy - good luck with the party. I hope you manage to rest your ankle a bit during your busy weekend.

Killer Abs L1 (again). Back to being stuck in a bit of a rut.

Did my first Thai boxing class in months today and survived remarkably well.

I'm starting to feel fit. Still coughing though.

KanyesVest · 05/11/2016 15:30

Good luck for the party, stressy, hope you get some down time too.

Busy day here, so the only way I could get out was to bring dd and her bike to the park for a run. She's getting used to her new big bike, but turns out she doesn't like hills, so there was more cajoling, pushing and walking than I planned. Anyway, managed half an hour before getting back to the mayhem for the rest of the day (currently watching ds play football, aka run around with the other 4yo headless chickens, all ignoring anything spherical Grin )

RJnomore1 · 06/11/2016 10:42

I'm having a rest day today after 8 days of heavy training including a few PBs this week. I feel guilty already. 😳

Stressy, hope the ankle is getting better. There's nothing worse than the frustration of wanting to train and not being able to.

KanyesVest · 06/11/2016 10:53

Sounds like a well deserved rest day RJ. Don't feel guilty, you need to give your body time to rebuild to get stronger that's why I have so many rest day

I did 7km this morning in 50 mins, which is a good pace for me. I walked for 200m at the 5km mark because of traffic, but was pretty comfortable the rest of the run. I think morning runs are best for me, but other than getting out of bed at 6am, it's really hard to fit them in.

RJnomore1 · 06/11/2016 11:19

That's really good Kanye. I can't run for toffee. I keep trying though...! I discovered colour runs this year, fun with friends and you only run about 1k then stop for colour. Highly recommended to the reluctant runner.

I'll go a walk later to fend off the guilt!

OublietteBravo · 06/11/2016 18:47

I'm having a rest day too. I just feel really tired. I wonder if I'm coming down with a cold.

LordPeterWimsey · 07/11/2016 07:01

Killer Abs L1 done. I'm aiming for five days a week of exercise every week this month - ideally a JM DVD every weekday morning, plus cycling to work a couple of times a week.

Oubliette, hope you're feeling a bit more energised this morning. I was bizarrely and inexplicably completely exhausted a couple of weeks ago, but I seem to have got over whatever was causing it.

TooStressyForMyOwnGood · 07/11/2016 10:03

30 day shred level 2 done woo hoo! Found it hard going in places but I expected that after 2 weeks off.
