We have an Easter bonnet parkrun (hopefully with plenty of cake) on Easter Saturday (26th March) if that tempts you 59?

Well done melanie on the job and top marks for a parkrun boss :)

FiftyNineOhEight · 08/03/2016 06:45

We can't do 26th, feet. One of our regulars is training for the London marathon and is doing gazillions of laps of the park that day for her long run. I am volunteering at parkrun and then running a few with her after her first lot of supporters have gone.

cinnamongreyhound · 08/03/2016 13:08

I believe the next one is somewhere in London feetheart. It was worth going I think, proper personal contact to ask anything about your parkrun or parkrun in general and get insight from other core teams.

Fab MelanieCheeks! Maybe you can become a parkrun place of work. Everyone who works at my work attends parkrun Wink

We've a few parkrunners at work too.

This article just popped up on Fb if you hadn't seen it.Belfast Telegraph

gruber · 09/03/2016 21:52

Thank you all for recommendations - will see if my lidl has any stuff in this week!

MelanieCheeks · 09/03/2016 22:15

Yes, the guy who wrote the beltel piece sent me a message to interview me, but I didn't get it in time! Still, I've met a few of those featured ( ronan was beside me in the 3 guys in 50 shirts looking over their shoulders pic that featured on the parkrun uk showcase a while back)

chutneypig · 10/03/2016 06:58

I did think you'd know people Melanie with all your travels Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 10/03/2016 07:19

Has anyone done Boston? I know it's an unlikely place for a bit of parkrun tourism but it looks like it's the next I'll actually be able to get to

cinnamongreyhound · 11/03/2016 16:38

No sorry lastqueenofscotland, I've thought about it as its on the way to mil's but we'd have to leave super early!

It's our birthday tomorrow Grin

A few cancellations in the Midlands tomorrow already due to flooding - mainly parkruns near rivers I think. Shame when the weather is just picking up a bit this weekend. Hope everyone has a good run tomorrow.

chutneypig · 11/03/2016 19:07

Happy birthday for you all tomorrow cinnamon

I'll be happy if there's no fog tomorrow, it was horrible driving this morning. Most of the flooding near us has receded thankfully. Definitely roll on Spring.

You'll have to let us know how Boston is lastqueen

MelanieCheeks · 11/03/2016 20:43

Have a great birthday do, Cinners!

feetheart · 11/03/2016 21:02

What have you got planned for your birthday Cinnamon? And which birthday is it?
Our first birthday is in the middle of April and I think we finally have a theme. However we first have a course change next week (for 6 months) and the Easter Bonnet parkrun the week after to negotiate.
I ran the proposed new course this morning and it came up annoyingly short at 3.07miles on my Garmin Angry I do think the current course does the same and the man with the measuring wheel will be out tomorrow so we will know for sure where we can put the finish funnel!

Happy parkrunday tomorrow everyone. I will try not to sulk at 9am when I am stuck in a car on the way to the Inter-county cross country championships in Birmingham (the non-running members of the family wanted to come too so DS and I have foregone getting up at stupid o'clock to tourist enroute :()

cinnamongreyhound · 12/03/2016 00:07

It's our third birthday, we have a kids party theme I'm going to be a fairy but wand didn't arrive Sad my jellies and my 100 cakes Grin

Can I just stick my head up to say hello?

I've done my first parkrun today after starting running in January, when I couldn't run a minute. I did it in 31 minutes but I didn't stop once. I was also 7th in my age group. I don't know what all the stats mean but I'm buzzing!

FiftyNineOhEight · 12/03/2016 11:01

Well done Sugar that's brilliant for your first run!

Happy birthday cinners did you do your 100 today as well? Great cakes!

I volunteered this morning because some parkrun friends and I are doing a night run at a nearby National Trust place tonight. Head torches are at the ready!

beadyboo · 12/03/2016 11:15

What a lovely thread, can I join?
Recently discovered Parkrun and I love it!
Ankle deep in mud at my run this morning, but a hot shower, a brew and a load of washing later and I'm feeling amazing. Times not out yet, but it was hard going. Perhaps I need to eat more before I go.

FiftyNineOhEight · 12/03/2016 11:16

beady this is quite possibly the loveliest thread on Mumsnet Smile. Do join us, well done on your muddy run!

beadyboo · 12/03/2016 11:43

Thanks Fifty. I came fifth in my age category (I'm old!!) but still in the top half which I'm pleased about.
Anyway enough basking in my glory, I have ballet drop off and drama pickup to do. No rest for the wicked...

MyBlackCat · 12/03/2016 14:29

I was back running parkrun after missing the last two weeks, no where near my time of three weeks ago but happy to be out running again.

Hope everyone had good runs Smile

chutneypig · 12/03/2016 15:53

How was it cinnamon?

That's fantastic Sugar. The stats are there to make you lose hours. Hours, I tell you!

Welcome too to beady. It's past time the mud should be gone - we've shifted parkruns for a bit to avoid the mud at our home run. DS is prone to losing his trainers in it.

Oh is it tonight? Enjoy FiftyNine!

Glad you got there this week MyBlackCat.

It was a beautiful morning here, one the of best running conditions we've seen at parkrun. Course PBs for the whole family and I got my second fastest time ever at parkrun so very pleased indeed. We all signed up to volunteer next week too. Glad I avoided timekeeping but DH didn't Grin.

Runninggirl63 · 12/03/2016 19:18

Hope you had a good Birthday and 100th run Cinammon !

Fiftynine will look forward to hearing about the National Trust night run - I had looked at those but none near us although I had noted the Attingham Park one tonight .

Gorgeous morning here - the sun was out and it was quite warm running - I took my time so I could enjoy it! A bumper turnout as a couple of nearby parkruns were cancelled.

Oh, night run at N T sounds amazing. Planning to tourist at Blicklinh on Easter Saturday as will be away with family and that's nearest - will be my 10th and first tourist!
