I missed parkrun today because we were at ride London too feet Smile. Our 2nd year, DC loved it :)

Welcome done to first timers, PB smashers and everyone else for just going!

feetheart · 31/07/2016 08:51

Ooo, I feel a Ride London parkrunners meet-up coming on :)

cinnamongreyhound · 31/07/2016 11:29

How did it go pinocchiosnose?

Well done 0ellenbrody0!

Welcome and well done fishtailplait!

I would have gone for a sling too GeoffeysGoat as my little man can be a pita in pushchair.

Fell over again today and much worse than last time, feeling it this morning! RD next week as I'm racing fri and sun.

Thanks everyone for the advice. My first time will be next Saturday as we had carpet being put down yesterday. I'm excited to start even though I'm sure I'll be walking a fair bit of it

chutneypig · 31/07/2016 18:06

Hope you feel better soon cinnamon, especially if you're racing at the weekend.

Welcome to fishtail and pinocchio

Those are some serious improvements london and Questa, well done!

Junior tourism for us this morning. DS just got a PB - it was a very fast field, I didn't think he was anywhere close, he was very pleased.

Blatherskite · 31/07/2016 22:03

I actually managed to run yesterday!! After doing the trial run for Linford Wood and then marshalling at the inaugural, I finally got round to officially running it. That gets me to 48 different events now so I'd like to do a couple of new new ones and get to my 'half cowell' soon.

Both kids did junior parkrun today too for the first time in weeks. DS got a new PB of 10.23! Seems the going longer to go fast rue works even when you're 9!

cinnamongreyhound · 01/08/2016 19:02

Come and see meeee Blatherskite, saw you in the apricot showcase Smile

Grin Not the best photo but I couldn't resist joining in. I think a visit to you might be lovely.

I ran 4.2 miles tonight with no pain at all and felt strong and comfortable to the end! Feeling all bouncy and more like me now. Such a relief

cinnamongreyhound · 01/08/2016 22:39

That's good news!

Fantastic Blathers and well done to your DS too.

lastqueenofscotland · 02/08/2016 09:28

Just wondering what people's favourites are? Drawing up a bit of a tourism list, don't mind hills but I want pretty courses!
I end up at most corners of the U.K. Over the year so anywhere and everywhere!

Sirzy · 02/08/2016 09:45

Preston and Pennington flash are both lovely

feetheart · 02/08/2016 12:28

Mine - Portrush (completely on the beach)
DS's - Tring (hilly) though it was relegated after he did it second as part of the New Year's Day double this year Shock I think it's back at No1 again as the memory has faded :)

chutneypig · 03/08/2016 06:23

Lanhydrock is my sons favourite, hilly and pretty.

Gedling is also hilly but great views over Nottingham.

For forest trails Sherwood Pines and Moors Valley.

Watching with interest Grin, you know for those odd family breaks that might accidentally end up near a parkrun.

feetheart · 03/08/2016 11:04

Oooo yes, we ran Sherwood Pines on a rainy day - it smelt divine and we didn't get too wet as we were under the trees :)

feetheart · 03/08/2016 11:08

"Accidentally" chutney? Our Lake District camping trip in a few weeks has been built around doing Fell Foot parkrun :o

chutneypig · 03/08/2016 18:42

In the way we accidentally ended up near Bushey earlier in the year Grin. Not that I need to be subtle about it with the family, as they're all totally on board. My cousins husband did his first parkrun with us last week which was lovely, I did point out there's also one where they're going on holiday so I'll see if he's been bitten by the bug.

cinnamongreyhound · 04/08/2016 07:03

I haven't done many but mine is still my favourite which is Brandon country park. Sheringham is one I want to do and I love wimpole too, it's a single lap and lots of livestock to look at. Red car was round a nice park with lots of little bridges and ducks too.

FiftyNineOhEight · 04/08/2016 10:00

So many parkruns, so little time. I still have Bushey and Brandon on my bucket list for this year. And I want to go to Rushmere and Huntingdon - the latter when it is not as muddy as the NYD runs I have done there. I am taking DS1 back to Uni in a couple of weeks so there are tourism opportunities on the way if I can peel him out of bed early enough.

lastqueenofscotland · 04/08/2016 10:09

Brandon is very near a friend of mines... Maybe I'll invite myself Grin

HalleLouja · 04/08/2016 16:21

My favourite is Cassiobury - flat and fast just a shame it is in Watford.

I also have a rose tinted soft spot for Tring too....

FishTailPlait · 04/08/2016 20:45

Has anyone done any of the Scottish parkruns? Am on holiday near Glasgow on a week or so & am tempted to try somewhere new out.

MelanieCheeks · 05/08/2016 17:51

Yes, I've done St Andrews and Perth. Both lovely courses.

I've also done all the Norn Irn ones - can confirm that Portrush is rather epic, but Victoria, Armagh, and Citypark are in gorgeous locations, and in Derry you get to run across the iconic Peace Bridge.

I've missed the past 2 weeks (ironically I was in St Andrews, but I was doing a very intensive dance course, and didn't get Sat mornings off). So I'm feeling out of practice, and will take it easy tomorrow. I've got my new parkrun tribe apricot shirt to show off, and Minnie has a matching bow to wear.

In sad news, my other dog, Max, who was too hyper for parkruns, but who used to accompany me on long Sunday strolls, passed away last week.

GeoffreysGoat · 05/08/2016 20:40

Oh Melanie Sad

chutneypig · 05/08/2016 20:43

I'm so sorry to hear about Max Melanie, such a tough time Flowers
