Fab blog Melanie Smile

lastqueenofscotland · 27/06/2016 21:30

Cinners that's so frustrating I don't know what to suggest, less just not actually scanning his time at all when he comes through/refusing to give a token?

Does anyone have the wristbands who can give me an idea what the sizing is like?

GeoffreysGoat · 27/06/2016 21:45

Dh is slim and wears a medium. I measured 7.5 inches on a piece of string and wrapped it round my wrist to judge if it'd go over his hand

Blatherskite · 27/06/2016 21:59

I have a Small wristband and DS has an Extra Small. They're really stretchy and I can easily get the XS over my hand but it's snug. The Small fits easily but I have to have it the other side of my watch otherwise it drops over my thumb joint.

I do have very skinny wrists though

lastqueenofscotland · 28/06/2016 12:16

Measuring would be logical but I was hoping to get one for my mum as a gift might just have to make an intelligent guess

cinnamongreyhound · 28/06/2016 13:11

Had to share I'm sooooooo excited Smile

Lookin' good, Cinners!

standingonlego · 28/06/2016 19:15

Northampton is cancelled this Saturday :( Who is running local to me....might squeeze in a cheeky bit of tourism Smile

Blatherskite · 28/06/2016 20:12

I'm away otherwise I'd tempt you to MK

FiftyNineOhEight · 28/06/2016 20:51

The Bedford posse awaits you with open arms lego

Our cafe has excellent Cake and Brew

Check out our FB page, there is a link to a nice little article from the local paper about our recent 5th birthday celebrations Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 28/06/2016 21:04

Probably a bit far from Northampton but Brandon country park is a lovely forest trail parkrun Wink

Loved the blog Melanie

Hate to say it, DD was nearly an unaccompanied runner! It was her tenth run so I figured she'd trot along next to me like usual. Err, no! She'd decided to get a pb and on the start signal went for it! My friend and I just looked at each other as she didappeated off and she said she'd catch her up and run with her. So DD did run with an adult (just not the intended one) and she got her pb of 30:23!

standingonlego · 28/06/2016 23:09

Bedford sounds like an interesting plan :)

FiftyNineOhEight · 28/06/2016 23:33

Yay lego! I will do my best to be on time or even early for once. I will see you at the bandstand Smile

Anyone else? feet can you get away?

feetheart · 29/06/2016 17:11

59 - damn, no, sorry. Timing with DS this week as he wants to volunteer together and both wear our 25 t-shirts - it will be his first outing in it though it has been worn A LOT since he got it last week :o
Now we have more confident RDs and an RD roster that is filled for most of the summer and some slots beyond that I can plan more trips away but this w/e is a bit short notice :(

chutneypig · 30/06/2016 06:06

Love the top cinnamon and wonderful picturing your DS wearing his volunteer t shirt feet

It's such a shame that people want to abuse the system like that with the under 11s. The DC know the rules and why they're there. Not that they're not looking forward to their eleventh birthday but not as much as me Is there a hard and fast rule on sprint finishes? Most we've been to have specifically said in the run briefing it's OK at the end but I didn't want to assume for all.

feetheart · 30/06/2016 07:09

Sprint finish absolutely fine at ours and seems to be the 'unwritten rule' at every parkrun I've been to and been beaten at Hmm

cinnamongreyhound · 30/06/2016 07:27

Do you mean for the children chutneypig? We have a marshal at the split were we go through the trees for first lap and up to the finish on the second, most let their kids go from that point as they can be seen and there are plenty of adults st the finish, if that's what you mean. Otherwise I've never heard a mention of a sprint finish, it's 5k of course you sprint finish 😉Wink

chutneypig · 30/06/2016 18:10

Definitely meant the children, I rarely have enough left for a sprint finish unless it's the course with a downhill finish Grin

MyBlackCat · 01/07/2016 13:40

My 50 t-shirt has arrived all ready for run #51 tomorrow Smile I will be wearing it with pride Grin

MelanieCheeks · 01/07/2016 17:26

Oh, enjoy, Black Cat!

I can't decide where to go tomorrow. Don't fancy my local one, I've run it a lot recently and am way off my best time.

Could do Citypark's 200th do (with cake) though I always get lost on the way there and the parking's a 'mare!

Could join cancer-charity-guy Tim Page working his way round all the NI runs at Carrickfergus, but I've done it quite a lot recently (Dastardly and Muttley)

Could go to Larne/ Carnfunnock - it's an hour away, but it's my slowest time and therefore most likely to get me a PB.

Antrim, Valley and Colin Glen are also due a second visit and closer, though I'm not sure I could better my last times.

Hmmm, off to pore over statistics.

chutneypig · 01/07/2016 19:00

That's great so quickly MyBlackCat, enjoy!

I think the only answer is to roll a dice Melanie

I'm debating whether to squeeze parkrun in tomorrow before Pretty Muddy. Did a 5.30 am 5 k this morning which was fantastic, despite a soggy start.

FiftyNineOhEight · 01/07/2016 21:00

chutney Shock 5.30 am? you are turing into cinners Grin

I am feeling the after effects of today's yoga class. I think we had a double class after I asked the teacher to be gentle last week ahead of my marathon weekend Smile. Usually one bit of me hurts after yoga but right not all of me hurts, unlike today Grin. So it will be a slow one for me tomorrow - lego don't wait for me if you are visiting Smile

Melanie sounds like someone needs to flip a coin or draw straws Smile

BlackCat fab that your shirt has arrived so quickly!

standingonlego · 01/07/2016 23:51

Still working on logistics for tomorrow fiftynine so will take a final call on if I am visiting in the morning.

FiftyNineOhEight · 01/07/2016 23:57

No worries lego hope to see you tomorow, info let's set a date to meet up soon Flowers
