It's only weds and I'm already full for my turn RDing on Saturday, it's quite lovely. No huge issues last week so hopefully it won't pour on me and I'll be back to feeling all warm and fuzzy about parkrun!

I ran without anything hurting or getting sprained!! 10k!! OK so it wasn't fast but I'm happy Grin

GeoffreysGoat · 23/06/2016 09:50

Yay Blathers 😃

HalleLouja · 23/06/2016 12:49

Well done blathers.

chutneypig · 23/06/2016 18:26

Wonderful Blathers!

Fingers crossed for a smooth morning cinnamon

feetheart · 25/06/2016 07:03

Hurrah Blathers

cinnamon - great feeling. We struggled this week until I stopped being subtle and told them what would happen if the roster stayed that empty - more chance of results going wrong, looooong queues for scanning (first time I've had to think about the 'reduce the scanners option' the MK use occasionally - thanks blathers), less support on course, etc. Filled most in about 15 minutes!

Enjoy your 50th MyBlackCat :)

Enjoy your second parkrun those who did their first recently - say hello to your new Saturday morning obsession :o

No parkrun for me today as I need to be in Bristol for a funeral for mid-morning. Did toy with getting up really early and doing Ashton Court but the logistics of showering/changing afterwards were complicated and I had enough complications sorting out the DC yesterday so am taking a more leisurely approach :(

Happy parkrunday everyone.

swampytiggaa · 25/06/2016 11:54

Hello! Not been on for ages - not been running for a while due to injury :( but have been volunteering :) was timer today which felt like a massive responsibility.

I have also been volunteering at juniors which is fun. My kids stay at home snoozing lol.

Next week I am tail running to ease myself back in :)

If anyone is coming to north Devon on holiday ours is a fairly flat multi surface course with good parking :) we have probably less than 100 people most weeks so it's small and friendly and very welcoming.

So come and be a tourist at Bideford if you are in the area :)

chutneypig · 25/06/2016 17:17

Timing is too scary for me swampy - I'm stretching myself with scanners tomorrow Grin. Glad to hear you're looking at easing yourself back in.

Hope everything went as well as it could this morning for you feet

I was running on my own today, got within ten seconds of my overall parkrun PB so was really pleased. I got that just after my HM so I'm really glad not to have lost it. I'll be starting up training for my HM in September soon so hopefully that will help. I'm not sure if it was reassuring or not to realise I can run 10k as fast as I can cycle it. We did a family fun bike ride today, I kept loudly asking DD if she was OK to mask my own ineptitude.

How was your 50th MyBlackCat?

cinnamongreyhound · 25/06/2016 17:24

Had a lovely parkrun today, beautiful sunshine and no issues. Then discovered we have a repeat offender unaccompanied junior, I've done some investigating and I think I know what's happening, very annoying.

I had to visit Melton Mowbray for DNephew's birthday party today so we went early and did the local parkrun beforehand. Even DH came along!! Shock

It's a tough course and DS got over excited about running with his Daddy and his Uncle and pushed it too hard so I found him walking with my brother just after we started the second lap. I took over and walked in with him. We did a bit of jogging but he'd lost the love after he got stitch. We still finished in under 37 minutes which I was happy with and it meant I could jog slowly on the uneven ground so it all worked out well.

DS had 3 adults with him cinnamon so not like your unaccompanied minor! I hope you get it sorted out.

I'm in charge of junior parkrun tomorrow so I'd better get my roster sorted!

MelanieCheeks · 25/06/2016 18:29

Nice run here - twas Minnie's 100th, so we had a shout out from the run director, and a couple of people gave her presents. I made her a T shirt and a giant doggie biscuit, which we then shared with all the other canine barkos. Blog to follow!

MyBlackCat · 25/06/2016 18:34

I did my 50th today and blathers Melton is my home run Smile were you wearing 100 t-shirts? If so I think I saw you with your son just after the start of the 2nd lap. I was running with a friend and we finished in 34ish, I had an apricot Melton t-shirt on Grin

The hill is a real killer, one coming so soon after the start that you barely have a chance to get going and whilst it's not that long, the first bit is steep. If you don't pace it right you don't benefit from the longer downhill bit that follows as you are desperately trying to recover.

Hope you enjoyed the run and the course Grin

I'm now waiting for the link to appear so I can order my t-shirt Smile

chutneypig · 25/06/2016 19:39

I didn't know you were that close MyBlackCat! I've never done the parkrun there but I know the park well. I ran round the course once but shudder to think what the hill is like on the second lap.

Well done to Minnie too!

FiftyNineOhEight · 25/06/2016 19:45

Hello parkrunners.

No parkrunning for me today, as I'm running a marathon challenge this weekend. 5 miles last night, 8.1 cross country today and HM tomorrow. The first two races have been slow going thank to lots and lots of lovely mud.

I went to my local Intersport shop and got the 20% parkrun discount on a pair of trail shoes today - and was very glad of them when I wore them a couple of hours later for the XC Smile

Big congrats to Minnie Star and MBC Star and well done to mini-Blathers Star and chutney Star.

Welcome back swampytiggaa

Angry about your unaccompanied minor cinners, so not fair when parents don't follow the rules.

Flowers for you feet

0ellenbrody0 · 25/06/2016 20:00

3rd Parkrun today!
I've not run since Monday when I normally do 3x a week so I really suffered. I felt like I was going to be sick before even starting the second lap!

Didn't beat my time from last week, but just glad to get round without passing out! Spoke to the RD afterwards and am going to volunteer to Marshall in a couple of weeks.

MyBlackCat · 25/06/2016 20:00

Where are you chutney? I'm sure you have probably said! I've not done too much local tourism, only Rushcliffe and Leicester Victoria, now I've made the big 5-0 I will try to get out and about a bit more Grin

Blatherskite · 25/06/2016 21:01

Yes MyBlackCat, that was probably us. I was in my 100 shirt, as was my brother and DS was in his new 10 t-shirt. We were the tourists from Milton Keynes :) I heard in the briefing that someone was doing their 50th. I applauded loudly. Well done Grin

It was the second time doing the course for me so I remembered the hill but it was DS's first time and I don't think he is a fan now :) The last course I took him to was Buckingham which is almost pancake flat. Although Rushmere is his favourite and that is full on trail! Guess he just wasn't feeling it today. My sister lives in Melton so I'm sure we'll be back at some point. I'll try to remember to let you know so we can say Hi.

DS has now managed 5 different courses in his 11 full parkruns. I shall make a tourist of him yet Grin

swampytiggaa · 26/06/2016 13:41

Just had a lovely morning at juniors :) barcode scanning again :) went better than last week when loads wouldn't scan probably due to the rain.

Tail running at adult parkrun next week - hopefully running it the week after.

Well done everyone on your milestone runs!

chutneypig · 26/06/2016 15:15

Hope the HM went well today Fifty and that the weather was ok, it's been very variable here.

We tend to bounce round the Nottingham runs MyBlackCat so let me know if you're touring at all Smile

My first stint barcode scanning this morning and I was terrified I'd done it all wrong. Everything was making the right noises but I was very pleased when the results came through nice and quick.

GeoffreysGoat · 26/06/2016 15:39

That would annoy me cinnamon I work very hard to make sure ds is always right by one of us; doing that when some other kid is roaming free would make life so much harder! been there at other events and walked out can you get it mentioned at briefing?

MelanieCheeks · 26/06/2016 19:44

My blog of Minnie's 100th

feetheart · 26/06/2016 23:44

cinnamon - you have my sympathies. It's not usually an issue here but last week we seemed to have a spate of people I had to tackle afterwards. I had some very stern clear words in the run report which you are welcome to use if you want.

Well done Minnie (she deserves the bold :)) and thank you to all those who volunteered or are thinking about it.
Timing IS NOT SCARY, it is DS's favourite job, he is 10. There will be photos of us next week as we are timing and both wearing our 25 t-shirts (DS's arrived this week)

Thank you for the thoughts and Flowers, it was a very emotional day but full of love and friends.

feetheart · 26/06/2016 23:50

Melanie - LOVED the blog and Minnie's 100 t-shirt.
I hadn't seen the skeleton costume before, it's awesome, I need to borrow a dog :o

cinnamongreyhound · 27/06/2016 13:51

Must be the weekend for it Blatherskite, dh came down for a fry up after parkrun. Just arrived in time for carrying the stuff to another rd's car!

Yay for new trainers and boo for mud FiftyNineOhEight!

We mention it every week GeoffreysGoat, I ask for all under 11's to raise their hands so we can keep and eye, this boys hand remained firmly down Angry

We noted him on the second time he ran feetheart so I had a stern word at the next one about our insurance, safety and removing times but he seems to only run once a month. I agree, I love timekeeping!
