Oh what a pain cinnamon and disappointing too that someone would lie.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/06/2016 06:33

Oh what rotten behaviour cinnamon..
What did she tell you?

Blatherskite · 13/06/2016 17:01

Missed out on running last weekend. DS was doing his 10th and wanted a PB so wanted to run with Daddy rather than slow, old Mummy.

Feeling like I'll never get back to where I was. Every time I go out, I hurt something Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 13/06/2016 21:35

She told me it hadn't scanned ThursdayLastWeek but the rd for the day clearly remembers her saying she forgot it Sad

You'll get back there one day Blatherskite, I'm sure of it!

Hello all Smile

We had our 5th birthday on Saturday. The winners of the men's, women's and girls' points competition were husband, wife and daughter Grin. They are an amazingly fit running family. The daughter has also volunteered 20 times for her DoE award Shock

I was happy with a special mention for being a regular runner who also volunteered more than 10 times Smile

feet I got mixed up and thought the trail run was the previous week Blush

Blathers it will come back. I think I saw your friend on Saturday but she wasn't wearing her top with her name on it so I wasn't sure if it was her Smile

Waves to all Smile

Blatherskite · 14/06/2016 14:38

FiftyNine, if it's the person I think you mean then she is no longer a friend. She decided that I was a "negative influence on [her] life" and that she "never wanted to see me again" almost exactly a year ago now. Certainly didn't help my depression.

Going to Bicester this weekend I think. DS is really getting into tourism and it'll be his 5th different event.

feetheart · 14/06/2016 14:53

Blathers - that's a shit thing to say :(
I bumped into the LFR lady again at Marston 5k on Friday - she finished ahead of me this time so we are evens for the moment :)

Bring DS this way - he can add another to his touring list and get to play rounders afterwards! New initiative at the cricket club!

59 - it was hot, humid and dusty!

If there is anyone local I have an entry to the Luton AC series 5 mile race going spare - Sunday 26th June at 11am.

Blatherskite · 14/06/2016 18:31

Yeah, it turned out that she was a fairly shitty person. One day we were best mates and the next she was ghosting me. Whenever I pushed for an explanation, she got cross with me. It all blew up on my birthday night out and we've not spoken since. Funnily enough, life is a lot calmer without her.

I think DS and I definitely need a trip to Luton as soon as I can run properly again. Need to be able to keep up with him!

FiftyNineOhEight · 14/06/2016 19:51

Good grief Blathers I had no idea Shock I'm so sorry, I wouldn't have mentioned it if I'd realised.

Add Bedford and our excellent cake to your tourism list (and/or let me know when you are going to Luton). Rushmore is on my to-do list.

cinners your lady sounds like a right pain as well Shock

Blatherskite · 14/06/2016 20:33

It's OK FiftyNine, you weren't to know.

GeoffreysGoat · 14/06/2016 22:08

I'm only an hour and a half or so away if you fancy touristing plus a day at the beach 😃

I had something very similar happen to me recently (smallest was 2 weeks old and a friend just vanished) it's really hurtful but so so childish. I'm still just totally wtf at adults behaving that way {{hug}}

chutneypig · 15/06/2016 06:48

Oh Blathers I'm sorry you've had to deal with that. Great to hear DS is getting into the tourism and a good thing to focus on while it's all coming back time wise. Which it will.

That's quite a family Fiftfy and lovely that you got a special mention .

feetheart · 17/06/2016 04:42

59 - we still need to do Rushmere so let me know if you are planning a trip. Apparently their cafe is fabulous :o

cinnamongreyhound · 17/06/2016 07:33

That totally sucks Blatherskite but sounds as though she wasn't a friend anyway.

And breathe! I have one email to send but I think all my team are now in the same place and we can move forward with a harmonious parkrun! Running without my neighbour this week so might actually have to push myself ConfusedHmm

Glad to hear things are sorted cinnamon. Maybe you can let some frustration off to fuel your run today? Usually works for me!

We've been getting the calendar out to get an idea of our 50th runs over the summer. It seemed such a long way off. On that front I've got a question for standing! Would I be silly to consider parkrun ahead of my pretty muddy - booked that for 12.30 just to give me the option Grin

First birthday parkrun today but we can't stay for the whole thing as DS has a party. The Cake looks great too Sad. On the plus side that leaves me and DD free to go to a craft fair and actually browse without hauling the complaining boy child around Grin

FankEweVeryMuch · 18/06/2016 06:47

I'm doing my first park run this morning and I'm a bit nervous.

We're visiting my family in Wales so doing it here, I'm not sure it's going to be like the flat pavements I'm used to running on.

MelanieCheeks · 18/06/2016 07:24

Welcome along, FankEwe, first run nerves are to be expected. Make sure you come back and tell us all about it afterwards.

Boo to shitty-not-real-friends, and happy birthday Chutney's run!

This week it's Minnie's 99th barkrun.......

chutneypig · 18/06/2016 10:45

Hope it went well FankEwe - did any of your family go with you?

Well done Minnie, what a star!

Didn't think we were going to make it this morning, left early as we knew it would be a busy one but just missed a spot in the car park. All was well in the end, saw the awards and my friends son get one. And cake at the end, making it back just in time to see DS off to his party.

How did everyone else get on?

FiftyNineOhEight · 18/06/2016 11:19

Morning parkrunners! Had one of my better runs for a while today, my dodgy foot finally seems to be getting better.

Hope you had a good first parkrun FankEwe and that it will be the first of manySmile

Sounds like a busy morning already chutney Smile

Waves to everyone

FankEweVeryMuch · 18/06/2016 11:47

Thank you, Melanie, Chutney and FifyNine. It went well although there were hills that knackered me out. I'll definitely go again, I did the Llyn Llyech Owain run today, seemed like a very nice one. My husband came, left the kids with my parents, he ran off at his pace though which is much faster than mine- he has longer legs Wink

Hope everyone else had a good run.

MyBlackCat · 18/06/2016 13:16

Well done fankewe on your first parkrun Grin

I completed parkrun #49 today and did a spot of tourism running with a friend. Great park and a nice steady run, really enjoyed it. Roll on next Saturday Smile

0ellenbrody0 · 18/06/2016 14:03

Well done fank

I did my second today and managed to chop 2 mins off my time. Not fast at 33.2, but better than last time.
DD12 was pleased to get 28.5. We enjoyed a nice cuppa in the cafe afterwards.
I'm in awe with those of you that have done so many.

chutneypig · 18/06/2016 18:05

That's great news about your foot Fifty. It must be a relief.

Well done on your fifty-eve MyBlackCat. A spot of tourism is always nice. Are you at home next week?

That's a massive improvement 0ellen very well done. And DD too.

Hills are a mixed blessing FankEwe I find. As long as there's a nice down hill after. Ours is very hilly. DD ran all the way up a very steep hill that I walked up and ostentatiously sat on a bench to wait for me Grin. I'm used to being humiliated by my children but the two young hipster types nearby looked quite put out.

There's some contention in our household as to whether DS beat DHs PB. They had some tech issues so the times are a bit off. This is amusing me no end.

cinnamongreyhound · 18/06/2016 20:46

Yay for cake and good runs ChutneyPig and FiftyNineOhEight!

Well done on your pb 0ellenbrody0!

Glad you enjoyed your first FankEweVeryMuch!

Are you home for your 50 MyBlackcat?

MyBlackCat · 18/06/2016 21:23

Yes I'll be at home for the big 5-0 next Saturday, hopefully a couple of friends will be coming to run with me Grin
