Welcome purplehen Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 02/06/2016 08:17

Might be running at Kings Lynn or Boston as we need to go to mil's. Dh seems strangely agreeable, I think that's because he wants to go to some boring car show Sunday so wants to visit his mum on Saturday!

Hi, new people 😃

Would it be possible/fraudulent to get someone else's (dh's) barcode wristband without his knowledge? It'd make a nice father's day present but it's currently only on his phone...

mommybunny · 02/06/2016 15:15

Hi Geoffrey - not sure what you're planning? Having the barcode on your phone does no good - it has to be printed.

Blatherskite · 02/06/2016 15:16

Geoffrey, you can easily buy a wristband with someone else's details on, you just need his A-number.

I bought one for DS and I know someone who bought one for his (adult) child. No permissions needed, you just type their number in on the order form.

To find his A-number, just go on to the last set of results that he's on and click on his name.

Blatherskite · 02/06/2016 15:18

I think she's planning on getting her DH one of these as a fathers day present mommybunny

mommybunny · 02/06/2016 15:20

Ah, thanks blathers. I had no idea these existed! What a great idea.

Blatherskite · 02/06/2016 15:24

They're great. I've had mine for about 2 years now. They're not cheap but so far I've never had a problem with mine scanning and I stretch it on and off over my hand every weekend. I have a friend who has worn his constantly for about 18 months and has also never had a problem. So much easier than having to find a pocket for a bit of paper or one of the printed tags. DS is 9 and I've recently bought him an extra small one.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/06/2016 15:59

I bought my friend the tags for Christmas, just need an ice number so I had to sneakily get her dh's number, no point in putting her mobile no on her tag 🙈

Exactly that, blathers thank you 😃 it'd be a nice present, and I can get ds1 his own code and wristband for his 4th birthday!

I'll have another look for an a number otherwise I'll have to rifle through his wallet which I don't really want to do :/

GeoffreysGoat · 02/06/2016 16:22

Ps I sent that email about volunteering

GeoffreysGoat · 02/06/2016 16:33

I've got his stats up but can't see the number - should I be registered and logged in for that?

cinnamongreyhound · 02/06/2016 16:42

It is only displayed on the live system and your own profile, which you get to through your email. Has he left the other barcodes he's not using laying around as it prints a sheet of 6?

GeoffreysGoat · 02/06/2016 17:12

We don't have a printer so his mate did it for him. I'll raid his wallet sometime if needed. Or ask him, but a surprise is nicer imo

FiftyNineOhEight · 02/06/2016 19:56

That's a nice thought for a DH present Geoffrey. And well done on sending that email Smile

I don't think I will be parkrunning anywhere this weekend Sad Instead I get to watch DS1 do his sport at 9:00 and DS2 do his at 14:00 Smile

GeoffreysGoat · 02/06/2016 20:06

It's not in his wallet :( I shall check his side of the bed if I get a chance but that's usually when the baby's napping in there! Might have to surprise him early and ask.

I'll be wearing ds2, they offered me marshalling or scanning so I said to put me wherever was most useful to them. With him tied on I'm quite slow so might offer to tail "run" once I know the ins and outs better! I reckon 45-50 minutes

Fifty can you do 5ks worth of laps of the field or is that not in the true spirit of things?

megletthesecond · 02/06/2016 21:26

They've confirmed Little Stoke will close. Such a shame the council never realised what a beneficial event parkrun is.

Our parkrun is at its alternative venue this weekend. We have to run up a sodding great big hill.

Blatherskite · 02/06/2016 21:56

It should give you the number as part of the url...

Failing that, you could DM me. I can log on to the results processing system and get it for you.

Blatherskite · 02/06/2016 22:01

Geoffrey - go to the results for the last parkrun your DH did, find his name and click on it. The url of the page you are then on will look like this - www.parkrun.org.uk/xxyourparkrunxx/results/athletehistory/?athleteNumber=123456

Your DH's athlete number will be an A followed by those last few numbers. That's all you'll need to order his wristband.

FiftyNineOhEight · 02/06/2016 23:14

Smile Geoffrey that would really embarrass the boys Grin

Actually, you have given me food for thought. DS1 is a rower, and having googled his rowing venue this weekend a run there is very possible indeed. If there are changing rooms I might even be able to shower afterwards Thank you! Star Cake Flowers

GeoffreysGoat · 03/06/2016 08:59

Thank you, all, but he doesn't like surprises and I hate snooping so after a cursory look in his wallet I asked him. He's going to print my new ones and replacements of his in the library later

Fifty surely embarrassing ones teens is half the fun?

FiftyNineOhEight · 03/06/2016 09:12

Absolutely Geoffrey Grin

DS1 is past the being embarrassed stage, but there is still plenty of fun to be had with DS2 Smile

GeoffreysGoat · 03/06/2016 19:01

Mine is still young enough to join in 😉 I've ordered dh's barcode thing and printed us both smart new copies. Might order ds1 one for his birthday (November) and maybe a junior 10 tee shirt. Might swamp him though, he's a skinny thing!

GeoffreysGoat · 03/06/2016 19:20

I've also sellotaped one of mine to one of dh's, written Mummy and Daddy on the relevant ones, and attached a lanyard. So if he gets lost he's identifiable and has emergency phone numbers (dh is me, mine is my mum) on him. He's excellent at sticking close, otherwise he wouldn't run, but just in case...

MelanieCheeks · 03/06/2016 19:58

Such a shame about little Stoke. Really awful example of short term thinking there.
