I really like those tops cinnamon, and they will be far better for warm weather than a black 100 shirt. I think I'm going to go back to wearing my 50 if it stays hot.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/05/2016 16:01

Yes nearly died in my 100 top a few weeks ago!

GeoffreysGoat · 27/05/2016 20:49

I nearly emailed to volunteer but don't know what to say

Overtired endoftermish 3yo won't be running tomorrow. Too many exhausted tantrums already this week!

FiftyNineOhEight · 27/05/2016 20:59

Geoffrey some of our volunteers just offer on the day by wandering up to the RD/volunteers and asking to volunteer. As a super-organised, need to know what I'm doing three weeks beforehand kind of person I was surprised the first couple of times it happened, but we are always one or two short, so we always say yes Smile

Hope your littlie has a good night's sleep and feels better tomorrow.

GeoffreysGoat · 27/05/2016 21:17

Fab I might try that then. I also might try walking it with Smallest in the sling, shift some baby weight! Its another 3-4 months before he can be buggied round by which time we'll be into winter and helmets and a specialist buggy etc

Blatherskite · 27/05/2016 21:38

Taking tourism to the nth degree tomorrow and being a tourist RD at Rushemere! It will hopefully be lots of fun.

FiftyNineOhEight · 27/05/2016 22:27

Enjoy Blathers I must try to get there sometime.

chutneypig · 28/05/2016 07:19

Hope everyone has greats runs today. I'm doing a 10k later so giving parkrun a miss, as half tempted as I could fit it in time wise but not going to help my 10k.

Walking would be great Geoffrey hope the weathers ok.

butmumineedit · 28/05/2016 07:25

Fiftynine0eight, you could do Belton at Grantham , although I expect if you live in Peterborough you might have done it already or there's one at Newark as well .

lastqueenofscotland · 28/05/2016 08:08

Fifty I did Boston recently and really really liked it, Humber Bridge if you don't mind hills? Goole if you like a diddy one.
Off to my first one in a month today Grin

GeoffreysGoat · 28/05/2016 13:48

With baby in sling I'd be excused running, too 😉

There's an actual park run bearing ds1s name, I might have to organise a holiday there so they can tourist😂

cinnamongreyhound · 28/05/2016 15:25

So proud of my neighbour 32:15! She took my little dog, I took big dog and her oh took their dog and another 99 total runners at ours Smile had to do a scary juniors must run with an adult or our insurance is invalid and I WILL delete times talk too Sad

I was8 secs quicker than two weeks ago so stopped the slide of slower times, felt a bit better running today and considering I only had about 6 hours sleep and spent 3 hours dancing the night before it was surprising.

ThursdayLastWeek · 28/05/2016 16:46

Hello all Smile
Number 70 for me today, it was a hot one! No dog within me this time either.

I so love being back out there every week!

FiftyNineOhEight · 28/05/2016 18:37

Well done all Smile

I was quite slow, but it was just good to be running again after a few weeks off with a dodgy foot. Foot is still dodgy, but doesn't hurt any more after running than it hurts anyway, so I figure I'm not making it any worse.

Thanks for the parkrun suggestions - I will look at Newark and Grantham as they look closest to the A1 and look do-able without leaving home bonkersly early Smile

chutneypig · 28/05/2016 19:04

Could be tempted myself by Belton if you do head over there Fifty. I've been meaning to try since it started Grin

mommybunny · 28/05/2016 20:41

Hi all - I have lurked for a few days but can finally contribute as my DS (11) and I did our first Parkrun today! DS did it in 27:34 and I did it in 29:51. We both had an age-graded score of 55.50%. We both had a great time, would definitely do it again. I can see how it could become addictive trying to find and beat PBs!

Well done everyone on your Parkruns.

FiftyNineOhEight · 29/05/2016 10:08

Welcome mommy and mommysDS Smile great times both of you!

chutney after lots of google mapping I think if I do a parkrun at all next weekend it will be Pontefract. But at it's a shade over 2 hours from home it will require a very early start and - much as I love parkrun - I'm not sure I can face it Smile.

chutneypig · 29/05/2016 12:16

That early a start would put me off too! Pontefract looks a lovely course.

That's great to hear mummy, well done to you both and welcome!

Blatherskite · 29/05/2016 21:55

FiftyNine, my brother and SiL are RDs at Pontefract! Let me know when you're going and I'll make sure they're ready to welcome you.

Rushmere went really well. The team there are lovely and I got to unveil the new PB gong! :D

lastqueenofscotland · 30/05/2016 07:21

Ponte is lovely... And there are loads of good places for brekkie near by...

MelanieCheeks · 30/05/2016 17:26

My fist parkun south of the border in Marlay, Dublin

Really lovely course, the grounds are idyllic. There are over 50 parkruns in the south of Ireland, so it'll take me some time to work my way round them all!

thepurplehen · 30/05/2016 20:06

Can I join please?

I did my first parkrun on Saturday. My time was 28:20 which I am super pleased with!

I've been a regular in the gym for years, albeit only once or twice a week but I've never pushed myself and started to do some road running for some variety and thought my local parkrun would be a good way to add a bit of competitiveness to my training.

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2016 08:20

Well done mommybunny and thepurplehen and welcome!!!

I'm similar FiftyNineOhEight, with trying to persuade dh to go to sheringham parkrun, followed by a day out there!

Welcome thepurplehen Smile. It's a great plan for pushing yourself.

That's a fair bundle to work round Melanie. That one looked gorgeous.
