Happy birthday boobz! These goliaz work outs are half work out half mental acuity test! No wonder you needed your DH to count for you. Hope you are not too sore now.

Well. Day 1 of insanity. Max interval circuit. Goodness, I felt tired after that one! I've done it before but was definitely harder doing it at 8 at night after a day at work. I did the stretch in the middle like you said boobz, but skipped the last one. Blush rest day tomorrow as have worked out for the last 4 days.

yumyumpoppycat · 16/05/2016 22:42

Just popping in to say Happy birthday Boobz Wine

Hi and hugs to Jackster

Enjoy CP Roastie - we went in Easter to a diff one and the kids loved it!

Waves to everyone

disappointed101 · 17/05/2016 08:22

Morning everyone! Today was almost a write off. I couldn't find my insanity DVDs so put in a max 30 one. Max out sweat. Well after yesterday's push up and pull up fest, my arms are really feeling it. On the one minute power move speed in and out abs, my arms could not hold me up! I quit that and popped in a Turbofire hiit workout instead. Hopefully I will find the insanity DVDS by Thursday!

Purpleraindeer · 17/05/2016 08:57

Hi disappointed - well done for doing a workout. Would have been tempting to just give up.... You were a bit unlucky that the max30 workout you found was max out sweat. That's def one of the worst with loads of planks/press ups etc!

I feel quite sore today after last nights efforts. Rest or maybe max recovery depending on how late I finish work today.

Hi poppy - glad cp was fun.

EleanorAbernathy · 17/05/2016 12:18

Hi everyone - happy birthday for yesterday Boobz! It's about a year since I started Insanity and did the whole lot religiously now, good luck everybody doing it at the moment -it will always be my favourite!

I did a 5 stagger run on Friday -first one in a while, slower than normal but I didn't stop and walk! Then 3 rest days to recover - just didn't have time to fit any T25 in as working long shifts all weekend.

Back on it today - lower focus, not done this one before!

EleanorAbernathy · 17/05/2016 12:19

Should say a 5K run, not sure where my k went!

EleanorAbernathy · 17/05/2016 13:59

Lower Focus done - I have a feeling I'm going to feel that tomorrow and it's a good job my lower legs are still a bit numb! Grin I didn't think it was possible to work the legs that hard without weights, and I take back everything I ever said about T25 being too easy.

I DID enjoy the move where you're in a sort of squat with your legs together and walk from side to side, because the music went a bit "creepy" to go with it as you're creeping from side to side Grin

I actually did the stretches after this one for a change so I have a slight hope of being able to walk tomorrow.

disappointed101 · 17/05/2016 14:43

Eleanor I love the music in t25 and Max 30! Shaun knows how to make a track for a workout. I have been struggling to get my coat on and off! Might need to get the foam roller out later

RoastieToastieReastie · 17/05/2016 21:00

Hello all,

Happy birthday for yesterday boobz.

another rest day today. This week end/week will be a bit all over the place as ended out going out after work today and missing a workout (very rare so figure it's ok). Going to do hc22 resistance 1 at the gym tomorrow just to g a quick workout in between end of work and school pick up then I'm hoping to start p90x on Thursday. Crossing fingers I can manage the long workouts and manage to do a couple of them a week at the gym if I can write down and remember the moves to the workouts I do at the gym (thinking weights ones will be good for this as from memory they have rounds of repeating moves). Worst case scenario I might do a hc22/insanity/p90x hybrid to make it work (not sure this exists so may be writing my own).

onlywhenyouleave · 18/05/2016 07:04

Morning all Smile

Lower focus done this morning. Eleanor, was thinking about what you said about the music - had never noticed it before! There is one point during the calf raises - he describes them as 'crazy kangaroo hops' and the music changes a few seconds later to a very Australian, didgeridoo type tune Grin. Is Shaun playing with us??

Purpleraindeer · 18/05/2016 07:55

In max 30 the music goes all 'hardcore' in Friday fight when you have to do the burpees/tuck jumps etc. I love that bit. Makes me feel tough Grin
No work out last night as I got back late and was starving. Then ate (a very tiny) slice of cake for pudding and immediately regretted not working out.... Max interval plyo tonight. That's the one with the really crazy press ups. Shock

Roastie - try workout scheduler website to see if it can make up a hc22 hybrid for you. Will prob be no better than just randomly allocating them yourself, but I like the feeling of someone telling me what schedule to follow...its just one less decision for me to make!

Boobz · 18/05/2016 09:35

Thanks for all my birthday wishes everyone! Was a bit of a slow day (in-laws visiting, lots of work on etc.,) but drank prosecco in the evening to lighten it up a bit. Am now posting religiously on MFP as well so am really trying to watch what I eat in line with the Goliaz nutrition.

Only what is metafit?

Purple - wish I was doing Insanity 2 with you! How was Max Interval Plyo? I can't work out which one is harder, that one or Max Interval circuits. To mix it up, you should do the Sports one as well (which I do instead of the Recovery one).

Couldn't work out yesterday due to various issues so have to do 2 x Goliaz today:

"Start & Stop"
Do 6 burpees and then sprint around a 400m track until you hit 1 minute, then drop to the floor and do 6 burpees again, and then get up and run again for until minute 2, 6 more burpees and then sprint until minute 3, etc., until you have run 6 laps of the track (or 2.4km). My time I had to do it in was 18 minutes, and for every min over your target time you have to do 20 squats in penalties.

I did it in 18 mins almost exactly so no penalties for me!

(DH had to do 8 burpees and his target time was 16 mins - everyone gets a tailored burpee count and time to do the work out in based on past performance)

And tonight's catch up work out will be: DYSOMNIA
(see pic, to save me writing it).

You have to "buy" a ticket (which basically means you have to do the full list of exercises on that pic) and when that is done, you then have to do burpees to a metronome pace, and once you come off that pace (i.e. you get behind) you have to buy another ticket (do that whole list of exercise again once through) and then you go back to the burpees on the metronome again... and repeat until you reach your target burpees (mine is 100) - I imagine it will take me about 4 tickets and 40 mins to do, based on my last "ticket" challenge!

KatieKaboom · 18/05/2016 11:35

Been doing outdoorsy things, but rain has sent me back to Shaun T today. Max 30, Sweat Intervals... my nemesis. Maxed out about four times overall! Hate this.

KatieKaboom · 18/05/2016 11:47

Half my message disappeared! Happy birthday, Boobz! And fab exercising every one.

onlywhenyouleave · 18/05/2016 13:45

Boobz Metafit is a HIIT class - lasts about 25 minutes and all based on bodyweight exercises (squats, burpees, press ups, lunges, hurdle jumps, sprints - list goes on and on). You do a particular exercise for a set time and then have a short rest and so on - the exercises are quite varied in the 25 minutes so you don't get bored. It is pre-recorded so the instructor just presses play and the man on the recording does all the instructions/count downs etc - the instructor just demonstrates the moves and provides encouragement and support!

So, the one I did on Monday was 3 rounds - each round consisted of 3 different exercises which you repeated 3 times. So, sprints for 30 seconds and a 15 second rest, sprints for 30 seconds and a 8 second rest and then sprints for 30 seconds. 20 second rest and then move onto a different exercise (say burpees) with the same time intervals. After 3 different exercises, there was a core challenge at the end of each round which was 4 different core exercises for 18 seconds each with no rest in between each one. Then short rest and move onto round 2 with 3 different exercises in the same time intervals as above and then the core challenge and so on.

Each metafit workout is structured differently to mix things up but based on the same HIIT intervals. You aren't working to a beat/instructor pace - it is like your own little workout zone so just go as hard as you can at your own pace.

You would love it Grin

EleanorAbernathy · 18/05/2016 14:42

Boobz that Goliaz thing looks really scary!

I quite like the sound of Metafit only

I always liked how in the last circuits in Insanity the music goes all "you can do it!" and victorious sounding Grin

I was REALLY in the zone yesterday and did Cardio too after I posted - the leg bits were hurty after doing Lower Focus!

Speed 1.0 done today, I like it because it has a bit of boxing in it - I felt a bit more coordinated today than the last time I did it, and I've finally got the hang of those up and over things! :)

Last night shift tonight then I have 4 days off so will hopefully fit a few more T25s in. I've enjoyed all the workouts so far!

RoastieToastieReastie · 18/05/2016 19:16

Only I like the sound of metafit.

Boobz I am in awe of how fit you must be.

Did a cheeky hc22 resistance 1 at the gym today (I ran on the treadmill rather than the bonus round at the end as I didn't want to do football sprints in the middle of the gym). All set for starting p90x tomorrow and have booked onto a yoga class next week instead of yoga X.

onlywhenyouleave · 18/05/2016 21:01

There are probably local metafit classes to you all - think a lot of instructors do them in community centres etc as they don't need a licence or equipment so can do it anywhere!

They really are good classes Smile

Purpleraindeer · 18/05/2016 22:19

Meta fit sounds great only. Like Shaun t but surrounded by other people which would be fun.

Hope your second workout went ok boobz. The guy who devises them is like a sinister evil genius. 100 burpees Shock

Glad you're enjoying t25 Eleanor

Did max interval plyo tonight. I love those power push ups. I watched the demo and thought 'no way' but I did them! Must be stronger than I thought. Can't keep up with his push ups on the drills tho. I think that one is easier that max interval circuit, but not by much. Felt pretty shattered at the end, but I think this is because insanity is so long I'm still working out when I'd normally have had time to have a shower and get dinner on... 60mins is a loooong time. I did all the stretchy bits tho

RoastieToastieReastie · 19/05/2016 10:06

Well done on being fitter than you thought purple. I remember max interval plyo being one of my most hated insanity workouts as I found it really tough.

Just finished day 1 p90x, chest and back and ab X. Used my new pull up assist for the first time and had it practically on its maximum assist level and even then found it really tough (I suppose things can only get better). Tricky one due to my neck/arm injury and the push ups not helping it so had to hold back a bit and hope I didn't push it too much (still waiting for scan appointment). Found ab X really tough too. I wonder if I too will be in pain grating cheese tomorrow Grin .

caitlinohara · 19/05/2016 14:31

Hi everyone, I am up and about again, still in shock at how ill I was! Have started working out again - just - and have decided to carry on where I left off pretty much but do an extra week of phase 1. Did Shoulders and Arms and Ab Ripper today and is very disheartening to realise how much strength I have lost, but I got through it albeit with lighter weights. Roastie glad to hear you're starting P90X too. I hate Chest & Back. The diamond push ups! The dive bombers! Aargh!

On the plus side I am doing the nutrition plan from Body Beast, which is awesome because it's tailored to weight gain (it's an old fashioned bulk and cut programme) so is lots of fun. I am 5' 7" and dropped to 9st when I was ill so I need to (healthily) gain about 10lbs ideally.

Boobz glad you are recovered and back on it and Eleanor you seem to be doing really well, have they sorted out your meds now?

Well done to everyone else as well!

EleanorAbernathy · 19/05/2016 17:25

Glad you're feeling better caitlin - you'll hopefully be back where you were soon!
I haven't started my new meds yet (think it takes a couple of weeks to get delivery sorted etc) but I think I'm feeling better anyway!

I've already got my step goal and done Total Body Circuit today Grin Despite having the worst night's sleep ever last night (not helped by kitten licking my nose - I had to shut him out of the bedroom in the end!) - so am pleased with myself. My glutes are hurting, it's all that squeezing after the squats!

I think I'll do a couple more weeks of Alpha then give Beta a go.

Jacksterbear · 19/05/2016 20:26

only, thanks for that info in the on demand stuff- quite tempted by LM.

disappointed, to fellow JIllian fan and old JM thread poster (whatever happened to that thread?)

Boobz happy bday for earlier this week and snap re birthday weeks - mine is today! I have not exercised, and have eaten and drunk lots instead.

Have done a couple of fitness blender strength workouts this week on YouTube (just for a change), then Combat yesterday at gym.

High fives everyone else - great work all. Smile

Purpleraindeer · 19/05/2016 21:19

Caitlin - welcome back! Maybe you're still a bit under the weather which makes you feel a bit weaker? I love the idea of that eating plan yum.

Eleanor - I don't recall t25 beta being harder than alpha - it's just that it has weights. Am sure tbc is the hardest work out by far.

Did insanity cardio conditioning tonight. Weird work out. Nowhere near as hard as plyo or the intervals one. Might have been made a bit easier by the fact that I had to stop every 7mins to put on another episode of something from CBeebies to entertain the DC tho Grin.

Purpleraindeer · 19/05/2016 21:20

And happy birthday jackster! Wine
