New thread for an (almost) new year, and almost exactly a year since the start of the original thread!

Enjoy your lunch boobz. I bet you've got lovely weather too. It's great here. We just had a picnic in the garden.

I enjoyed max interval plyo. I managed the power press ups which I was amazed at - they looked impossible in the demo. Could only do the side press ups on one side which was weird. Had to modify the press ups in the level 3 drills - they do them much too fast for me to keep up on full press ups! I did skip the stretch and cool down Blush so it only took 40mins. Result.

I think the cast for insanity aren't as fit as the cast in max30. They all looked knackered and some were definitely slacking off when the camera wasn't on them.....

yumyumpoppycat · 02/04/2016 14:42

Sounds heavenly Boobz!

well done Purple!

Lavendar Shock speed 2.0 is a fav on here ;) Enjoy swim with your dc.

Have a great weekend everyone....I feel like a stretchy workout today.

Boobz · 03/04/2016 07:28

I kind of like the fact they can't keep up in Insanity - makes me think it's so hard even the pros can't do it (but you're right - they're probably not pros).

Yesterday was, erm, calorific. Lunch wasn't toooo bad, but then we sank a bottle of prosecco in the garden in the afternoon as the kids were playing nicely, and then dinner was a write-off - I even had chocolate pudding which I NEVER do! MFP wept as I entered the news. I am still full now.

Back on Bootcamp until marathon now, although obviously I will need some decent calories on Fri/Sat to make sure I am fueled for the mara.

Guests still here so not sure if I can do exercise... might try and do a run perhaps? Don't want to be jumping up and down in front of them!

Have a good stretch Yum!

RoastieToastieReastie · 03/04/2016 11:15

I also love that in insanity they have to have breaks too, it makes me feel like I not so bad if they can't even do it (and they look far fitter than me).I haven't done insanity 30 but I don't like the sound that they are all super fit and don't have breaks.

Hc cardio and core 1 today done. It was rest day yesterday but dh and DD and I went to a park and hired a pedlo boat which somehow I ended out peddling and dh and DD were sitting on the non pedal seats enjoying the view whilst I did all the work! Oh well, at least I got a mini bit of leg work in my day off.

Boobz I hope you enjoyed your treats as life wouldn't be fun without the occasional off plan eating. At least you still feel full from it now though, my issue is when I do treat myself it makes no difference whatsoever to when I'm next hungry, I'm still always hungry.

Lavender speed2 and speed1 (and the arm workout) were my fave t25 ones too! I tend to like the speed and agility workouts but not so much the core or leg or power ones.

Purple did you do the plyo?

I'm getting fed up with my Fitbit. The heart rate bit is just useless. I was huffing and puffing and checked the hr and it said it was 68bpm, which, when I felt my pulse was way off. I like logging my average hr and calorie burn amount for each workout (stat fiend) and atm it looks rubbish but it's down to the rubbish Fitbit. I did have apolar hr monitor but it broke. Does anyone have one they would recommend? Ideally it would sync to an app that can break down all the stats for me and even more dreamy would be one I can wear all day to get an average (although not as important I guess with my Fitbit wearing already) , oh, and that it actually be accurate!!

RoastieToastieReastie · 03/04/2016 11:15

^cripes, that was an essay Blush

Purpleraindeer · 03/04/2016 20:07

Argh. Wrote a post earlier but it crashed so the summary was:

  • try a polar hrm roastie. They're better but might not do all the fancy fit not stuff
  • I agree about treats but did too much of that myself (as poppy will know from mfp!) this weekend. Still full from cheeseburger at lunch!
  • did a double p90x3 work out - upper body then lower body. Feel a bit like jelly now!
  • boobz - is your mara next Sunday? You're very calm about it. I was in a frenzy of prep and nerves before all of mine!

Have a good eve all

Boobz · 03/04/2016 22:30

Yes next Sunday - a week left! I did a 6 mile run this morning and managed to keep my pace at 4:51/km which I was pretty pleased about! So feel like training has all worked and will be able to do the mara without too much of a problem - I want to do a time of 3:45 I think which is just under 5:20/km...

Not nervous yet but sure I will be by Saturday. Still trying to work out what/when/how much I should be eating this week.

Purpleraindeer · 04/04/2016 07:30

This article says 3.6-5.5g of carbs per lb of body weight for 2 days before boobz

www.runnersworld.com/fuel-school/how-to-carb-load-for-marathon-week

RoastieToastieReastie · 04/04/2016 08:33

Not long now boobz :) have you run a marathon before?

Well, I think I'm going to have to take an extra rest day today as woke up and my shoulder is killing me Sad. It's a weird pain that gets worse when I breathe deeply but is painful all the time. I have issues with my shoulders in general with tension so I wonder if it's that or just an exercise yesterday I may have done a bit wrong without realising. Either way, I'm worried I'll cause myself more injury and pain by working out, so unless it goes away by this afternoon I've got a cheeky day off workouts. Fingers crossed its better tomorrow (I'm worried about it as it genuinely feels quite bad and nasty) but I have a physio appointment on Thursday for an issue on my other shoulder/neck/arm so at least I can get it seen to later this week if needed.

Boobz · 04/04/2016 09:36

Oh gosh sorry to hear about your shoulder Roastie - hope it feels better tomorrow.

No, never done one before - furthest I have run is 21 miles which I did as a training run about 3 weeks ago.

Max Interval Plyo + Ab Ripper X done this morning. Feeling good.

Thanks for the link Purple - will go have a look now. Am still Bootcamping as still have a couple of kg to shift before the run if I can, but will eat "normally" on Friday/Saturday I guess, to ensure I am properly fueled. Will look at the link now.

Boobz · 04/04/2016 09:42

OMG I am going to struggle to follow those meal plans! Even if I have the amounts and calories because I think they are talking about a man's diet there, it's still a lot of calories and carbs! Argh, is going to be a mental battle I think!

Did you carbo load Purple?

Purpleraindeer · 04/04/2016 10:24

Poor you re shoulder roastie. Good call to rest it.

Boobz i did carb load - nothing too sophisticated - just carbs with every meal for the 2 days before and big pasta meal for dinner the night before and porridge/bananas on the day. Also energy gels whilst running. For me it made a big difference as I did one mara without all that and really suffered in the last 6 miles. I found there is a big difference between the first 20miles and the last 6miles so be prepared mentally to find them tough. It was all worth it crossing the line though - there's a photo of me getting a pb and I looked absolutely elated Smile

onlywhenyouleave · 04/04/2016 12:00

Hi everyone, sorry have been a bit quiet but have been distracted by another thread!

boobz if you don't normally use energy gels, it is recommended that you try them before as I believe they can have a nasty effect on your bowels mid-run Wink

roasty rest day sounds wise if your shoulder is hurting. Hope it improves soon.

I have done a Metafit class followed by a pump class this morning. Strangely, Metafit seemed easier than normal - is it possible that a couple of weeks of T25 can impact on cardio fitness that much?

Have 20 weeks till holiday and I need to drop 2 dress sizes - is that doable??

Boobz · 04/04/2016 14:36

I haven't used energy gels so far so am scared to use one now...

I will defo eat more carbs in the 2 days pre race, and have some porridge on the day itself. I think I might just take some haribo for the 13 mile mark!

What is your pb Purple?

Purpleraindeer · 04/04/2016 19:09

I reckon 20 weeks for 2 dress sizes is possible. I reckon poppy is your best advisor for this tho - she's lost loads of weight on the blood sugar diet.

Boobz my pb is 3.51. On the haribo - save some for the last 6miles as that's when you really need the sugar.

EleanorAbernathy · 04/04/2016 20:13

Hello everyone - some great motivation going on at the moment!
I THINK I've finally stopped eating now, just need to stop WANTING to eat everything in sight!
I went for a run on Saturday, rest day yesterday (long day at work) but I went for a walk in my lunch hour, then today I thought that as NMTZ seemed to hit the spot I'd give the other Jillian one I've got but haven't tried a go -Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. It's the same format but more cardio and no weights - and it wasn't as hard as I was hoping it would be. A lot of the moves were a bit "Insanity-Lite" - very similar moves but Jillian is a bit less scary and intense than Shaun T! I was surprised when I was done that according to my Fitbit I burned as many calories as Insanity. Shock

I think I'll do NMTZ again tomorrow, then maybe an Insanity or a run the day after :)

RoastieToastieReastie · 04/04/2016 20:55

Great work Eleanor.

Interesting about the marathon chatter. In my head I'd think 'if you've done 20 miles what are 6 more' but then I don't think I could run six miles let alone 20

Hoping to double workout tomorrow to catch up with missed workout from today. Not sure et how shoulder is as I'm dosed up with nurofen for another issue which is probably helping the shoulder too.

Only meta fit AND body pump, wow, that's impressive. You all make me feel like such a lazy person!

Boobz · 04/04/2016 22:00

Eleanor - we are in the same spot - I seem to be un-doing all my good work from last week by eating no less than 900 cals in bloody SNACKS today. Ugh. I must NOT use the marathon on Sunday as an excuse to eat crap! I am still under my allowance according to MFP because of the 75 mins of exercise I did, but still, I haven't boot camped properly since DH got back - argh! He's so annoying!

So, fast day tomorrow just to get myself back on an even keel.

3:51 is amazing Purple - I would be well happy with that!

Boobz · 05/04/2016 09:21

Argh am back in the 56s.

But nailed Pure Cardio and Ab Ripper X this morning. Sweating like a Boss.

Only 5 days to go...

eeep.

Purpleraindeer · 05/04/2016 21:02

Max30 max out power done. Phew!

And a shock when I put sushi into mfp. Omg! I thought it was a lovely healthy low calorie lunch. Turns out I was horribly wrong.....

RoastieToastieReastie · 06/04/2016 07:34

Four days now boobz, getting closer.

Purple well done on the power workout.

I doubled up with 22 hc yesterday as I missed one the day before with my shoulder pain.i felt a bit under the weather so it was kill or cure, but I feel like I did both workouts badly as I wasn't feeling good rather than doing one really well iykwim. At least I've caught up a bit and don't feel bad about missing one. I think it's resistance 2 today but I have to check. I officially hate burpees, they are my nemesis.

Boobz · 06/04/2016 08:57

Who are you on MFP Purple?

Sushis surely all protein calories though?

Only Pure Cardio for me today as have too much to do and visitors here!

Purpleraindeer · 06/04/2016 09:30

I'm purpleraindeer on mfp too so do 'friend' me!

Sushi was 68g carbs and 15g protein so not good at all Sad. Oh well. Quinoa and salmon for lunch today so that's a bit better. Lost 0.5kg last week so am pleased with that.

Are you tapering now boobz? The advice when I did maras was basically to stay off your feet as much as possible for the 2 or 3 days before

Boobz · 06/04/2016 10:10

Well done Roastie - BRING IT

Boobz · 06/04/2016 10:12

Was that nigiri or sashimi? I only have sashimi so no rice when I have sushi...

I am tapering in that I am not really doing any running but am still insanitying. Plan is to do nothing tomorrow, a Pure Cardio on Friday (or a small 3km run just to stretch my legs with my friend that is visiting who is also running the mara) and that's it... nothing on Sat obviously.

Am going to up my carb intake from Friday night.
