New thread for an (almost) new year, and almost exactly a year since the start of the original thread!

PS for anyone who doesnt have p90x3 22 minute hard corps also includes a bonus warrior workout from p90x3

RoastieToastieReastie · 25/03/2016 18:29

I did cardio 2 on 22 hc for the first time today and goodness me I found it hard! Made me feel so unfit :( definitely a step up from cardio 1. Yumy will be interested if you like that one too.

Interested in the jm comments. I like 3o day shred and have nearly tried some of her other DVDs but I find her a bit shouty and her tone a bit annoying.

lavenderhoney · 25/03/2016 20:34

Had to do 2 t25 beta and an insanity today to catch up after being too busy the last couple of days. Plus walk the dog and drive bloody miles to drop the DC, all before 8.00am.

Annoyingly, the insanity DVD kept sticking. Going running tomorrow morning then a swim, then lots of chores before another t25 double catch up and an insanity. I like insanity much more than t25, I feel more challenged I think.

As the DC are away, I'm not going to be tempted by chocolate:)

Purpleraindeer · 25/03/2016 21:46

Wow lavender that's a hardcore day tomorrow.

Agree on all the comments about jillian - she's very shouty and irritating. I thought ripped in 30 was pretty hard tho. Not done it for a year so maybe wouldn't find that now?

Managed to squeeze in max out sweat this afternoon. The dive press ups were a bit terrifying as I was doing it on a slate floor! Managed to not give myself a head injury which was a relief!

lavenderhoney · 25/03/2016 21:58

Purple, I dropped my DC off at LHR this morning for their first week with their papa. He couldn't manage Christmas (!) and dropped them back Christmas Day (!) so knowing they are in Europe til next Friday is quite stressful.

Which explains the time filling with excercise - thankfully I enjoy it:) and I think I must be quite vain because my predominant reason for it all is too look fabulous in lovely clothes. And be able to run miles cross country:) I think I was the only girl at school that liked cross country running, across the hills and waving at the soldiers on excercise:)

peasizedbladder · 26/03/2016 09:10

Hello, can I join you? I'm in the gamma phase of T25 at the moment, I manage to do it about 4-5 times a week. I'm seeing results but my saddlebags/hips/bum are still HUGE. And I need a serious bum lift! I've been trying on new (smaller, yey!) clothes but I just can't get trousers to suit my huge wobbly bum and saddlebags. I know I need to cut my food and booze to lose more weight, but I will literally have no boobs and look gaunt if I ever did lose enough weight to strip a decent amount of fat off my hips.

So my question is, has anyone tried the Brazil Butt Lift workout from Beach Body? Is it any good? Most of the workouts take longer than T25 which is putting me off (I only convince myself to do T25 as it is quick!).

yumyumpoppycat · 26/03/2016 11:11

Welcome Peasized! I have BBL but didn't really like it because you have to do double workouts and I like quick workouts Blush also I found the resistance band round my legs really uncomfy. It was quite funny though and one of the cheaper packs on Amazon. Apparently you can't really spot reduce apparently weight [grr], having said that the past I found running very good for slimming my legs, but I don't like running either. You would need to aim for long distance rather than sprints.

At least though the BBL exercises shouldn't make your thighs bigger though, some squat exercises etc can apparently build up thighs which I guess you would want to avoid so it might help with that. Apparently weight always comes off the face and upper body first so you kind of have to keep going and then the lower half will follow Sad My boobs have disappeared first so defo true for me.

yumyumpoppycat · 26/03/2016 11:12

Please excuse my repeated words, too much coffee today!

Purpleraindeer · 26/03/2016 18:17

Hi pea sized. You can't spot reduce fat. Your best bet is loads of squats and lunges to tone up your bum and thighs and diet. My boobs went from f cup to b but I still have chunky thighs even tho they're better than they were

Sounds like its a tough week for you lavender. Good for you filling the time with productive exercise. Although the situation isn't good it must be nice to have lots of time for it. Flowers

Tbc for me today. That work out is amazing for squats and abs isn't it? I wanted to do a double but time ran away a bit.

Has everyone else had a wet miserable day? I swear it's rained solidly for 8hrs here!

yumyumpoppycat · 26/03/2016 19:13

Just found this on squats:

The variables of your squat play a role in determining if you are going to have lean legs or build bulky muscle. Completing a higher number of squats using either your own body weight or light resistance helps thin your thighs. High repetitions promote muscular endurance instead of size. Adding heavy weights and performing fewer repetitions causes a bulkier appearance

BBL does the above then as has light weights, resistance band and lots of repetition of squats! It is a little dated feeling though.

Yes Purple pretty mis here today but more grey than rain. We had a long walk and took kids for their swimming lesson and put washing away, the excitement ;)

Didn't exercise as achey from yest so it obvs was a decent workout in 22 minutes.

PS Lavendar, hope today went ok.

lavenderhoney · 26/03/2016 19:20

Hello pea, I'm a newbie on this thread too:)

I didn't think you could just really target one area, but maybe if you changed your diet a bit whilst doing bbl? I know I'm eating very lean at the moment and from now will only be eating veg and salad, with a couple of Brazil nuts maybe ( goes wild)

I do target my tummy a lot, because the rest of me is alright really, I think. But I hope the weight goes off everywhere tbh and I must tone up - the Callenetics is helping. It never affects my boobs though. They ignore the rest of me slimming down and stick at 32F. So when I'm really slim ( ie before DC) I look like a stripper if I'm not careful with clothes:)

I managed 5k today, stupidly forgot my swimmers so couldn't swim after, then did 2 x t25 to catch up plus an hour's walk with the dog and all the housework. Might do housework in heels to make me hold my tummy in:)

I couldn't do insanity - too knackered, so I'll do that tomorrow and I'll be caught up, run 5 k again and swim - and the stretch from t25. And Callenetics! and walk the dog! Missing the DC but not missing endless cooking. And I won't be tempted by chocolate of course :)

Boobz · 27/03/2016 10:30

Hello all and welcome Pea.

Did Insanity Sports Training (not sure of the exact name as it's a bit of a bonus work out which I don't do that often) on Friday and it made me sweat! Then did Ab ripper X.

Saturday I did DH's Freelitics work out which was (not exaggertating) about 600 press ups in varying styles. Followed by 400m sprints! My chest is killing today.

Today is rest day as DH is going to Belgium for a week so I am solo childcare duties, and will be again tomorrow (grump grump). But actually him being away for a week means I can work in the evenings which I need to do for a big deadline on Thursday, and it also means I can be even leaner with what I eat as I am more tempted when I see what he is eating. Have lost just under a kilo in a week (am 56.8kg today) which isn't too bad I suppose - didn't help that I drank prosecco last night at a friend's games night - was my only real cheat for a whole week so am feeling alright about it! Want to get into the 55s by Sunday next week!

2 weeks today until the mara - no more long runs for me now, the longest I will do is about 9 miles. Might try and convince the nanny to watch the kids for a couple of hours tomorrow morning so I can do that one!

EleanorAbernathy · 27/03/2016 12:39

Hi everyone and welcome pea!
It's tricky to do any DVDs as DP is off for the Easter weekend so has been watching the TV, so I did a 6 mile walk on Friday, a 30 min treadmill HIIT session yesterday, and nothing so far today as I'm working until 10pm.
I'm on a night shift tomorrow so will be staying up late, might do something later. I actually have NMTZ, I've never tried it as the name put me off a bit (it sounds like a spot cream of something!) - I might give that one a go if it's actually good!Grin

EleanorAbernathy · 27/03/2016 12:50

As for spot reducing, I just think everyone loses weight in different places - I've always been a bit top-heavy and my hips and legs shrink first but my 30F boobs remain in place to nearly knock me out when I try to do power jumps on my spindly legs! No wonder I have no balance Grin

onlywhenyouleave · 27/03/2016 15:56

Happy Easter everyone, I am currently eating my own body weight in chocolate Blush

Just noticed that all the 22-min hard corps videos are on the 'secret' site (to save you all buying it)

yumyumpoppycat · 27/03/2016 17:30

Brillo about secret site Only - 22 hc is pretty fun {rubs achey arms from resistance 1} I think you would like it! I did cardio 1 today - urgh bonus burpees are a step too far for me I think i might need to add the cold start before resistance tomorrow.

Eleanor I am so jealous of you and lavendar losing from your bottom half first Envy

Well done on Kilo Boobz!

yumyumpoppycat · 27/03/2016 17:32

lol at NMTZ sounding like a spot cream, I think that's one I have and haven't done too, I do remember from looking on amazon reviews that it is quite popular.

RoastieToastieReastie · 27/03/2016 19:24

Happy Easter all.

Did hc22 resistance 2 for the first time today. That workout makes me feel really unfit :( I'm a bit worried about injury from it as so much is functional and working so many body parts together but lots going on and in worried my technique might be wrong. Hopefully I'm just being OTT after t25 causing me knee problems two years later still aren't fixed though. I still feel a fraud as its so short and I'm thinking once DD is back at school I might do a quick half hour jog before doing the resistance workout.

Very interesting about lunges and repetitions and weight amount. My problem area is always my tummy and I have a really inflexible lower back meaning I can't do a lot of core work it's physically impossible for my body (which obviously doesn't help the situation). I wore an empire style tunic top today and just saw a photo of myself and think I look pg Blush. I'm thinking instead of my 25 minute treadmill I do on the way from work before collecting DD from school on week days when I work I might do 22 hc in my gym (write down the exercises and follow them myself iykwim) as I think results will be better but I'm worried I might look like an idiot as no one tends to do that sort of thing in my gym, they tend to stick to machines or do weight work and I've never seen anyone doing burpees etc in there. I don't want to draw attention to myself so wondering if anyone else has done this? I know I shouldn't care etc....

Hope you're doing ok lavender,

I'm planning hc22 cardio 2 and core 1 in the morning so long as DD permits.

lavenderhoney · 27/03/2016 19:46

Happy Easter:) I have avoided chocolate but I don't really like it- there are Easter eggs here which i suspect the dc will also take weeks to eat. We aren't a sweet toothed bunch at all.

I went to the gym, did 5k in 40 mins which pleased me and swam after very slowly but concentrated on technique and holding my tummy in:)

I also did the cardio abs and stretch from insanity and t25, walked the dog and cleared the dining room of paper

Tomorrow I plan t25 and insanity, then a very long dog walk. The dc are back Friday so I don't have long really in my self imposed fitness and diet week. I'd quite like to go on a regime holiday ( if that's the right word!) just lettuce and lots of hard core running, sport / yoga / massge. In Switzerland or something :) Old fashioned but effective perhaps.

peasizedbladder · 27/03/2016 19:57

Thank you for all your messages and advice Smile

Yumy that is really useful info, I hate double workouts so am more likely to not do anything if double workouts are needed on BBL. I also have a tendency to build muscle so will make sure I go for more repetition over more weight on squats. I do notice a weight loss when I occasionally run so perhaps i should do more of that.

My boobs are only an A/B cup now so I they have no hope of I ever manage to lose weight off my legs! Love the stripper image Lavender!

Very impressed by everyone's double work outs and strict diets (serious wine and chocolate fest here today).

Boobz · 28/03/2016 09:27

9 miles done.

lavenderhoney · 28/03/2016 19:07

Well done boobz:)

I walked the dog for an hour or so, and managed to keep up with my workouts today as well as my strict diet:) also did some DIY, which I hate and I'm useless at.

Back to work tomorrow so I'll be up early and digging deeper:)

yumyumpoppycat · 28/03/2016 19:33

Well done Boobz, and Lavendar sounds like a very productive day Star

Am struggling around all the chocolate in our house at the mo, but on a positive note I did resistance 1 again today and on my first round of pushups managed 10 before going to my knees! They prob weren't as deep as they should be but I was chuffed . Did less well on the pull ups today. Also I finally did a tony H coldstart, and really enjoyed it - until 9 minutes in when the word BURPEE came up, where upon I decided I was warm enough ;)

Hope everyone is having a great easter weekend Easter Smile

Purpleraindeer · 28/03/2016 20:10

Happy Easter all!
Lots of good work outs done. We got back from hols last night and felt that I couldn't come on here without having actually done a work out so did Friday fight 2. Argh. That's hard. My abs are feeling well worked out 2hrs later! Maxed at 10mins so lots to aim for!

Well done on the press ups poppy. That's fab! Next you'll be nailing the burpees Grin

Back to work (and my p90x3/max30 hybrid) tomorrow Sad. Need to do a bit of a diet really but not totally motivated yet. Well done on your weight loss boobz. You must be pleased with that.

Purpleraindeer · 28/03/2016 20:12

And forgot to say - I'm very Envy of all you girls who can lose weight and keep your boobs.
