Back from work and my dvds have arrived woo hoo! not quite enough time to make a start this eve but I am on it tomorrow! Home tomorrow and not too much work to do (although house could use a bottoming as do would call it) so I will try and it properly with fit test, cold start and core workout even if its just on that one occasion. In general though I am only planning on doing the 22 minutes so will prob swap one of the cardios for a core workout. The pack is a lot less slickly packaged than p90x3, only 2 dvds but in a way I prefer that. Slight gripe is that I will still need to switch disks everyday rather than leave it in the machine (how lazy am I?!).

I am not lean at all, but trying to be as I am overweight. My diet for today on MFP is very orientated around lattes and sandwiches tbh!

yumyumpoppycat · 22/03/2016 15:26

I was also Grin at what would boobz do!!

One other option would be to skip the cup a soup and juice fast and stay as you are for normal days or if you want to fast then big choc on the fasting topic says that a backtoback fast is 650 calories per day and you could eat a lot from that if eating the way you describe on normal days.

RoastieToastieReastie · 22/03/2016 20:46

I love how you are channel ing your inner boobz!

Boobz you'll get there again. You see I can't imagine ever having a six pack and fit and lean body as I've always been overweight. I'm now healthy weight but even if I did get a super muscly tummy the excess fat wouod hang down (it's not a pretty picture when I plank and it all falls forward I can tell you). I think you are amazing to marathon train. Is it the London marathon you're going to do? What's your time aim?

Yumy yay for yr DVD arrival. I did cardio 1 and core 1 again today for day three but may have to swap day four with rest day on day seven as I'm off up to the big smoke tomorrow for a concert straight after work so don't think I'll have even 22 minutes sadly. I was dripping in sweat by the end and had to modify but I think that's just because it's a new routine and I had got stuck in a rut with what I was with and picking easy options all the time. It still feels like I'm cheating at 22 minutes though, I'd kind of prefer it was an extra 8 minutes at least as I don't feel I do enough to warrant only 22 minutes. Maybe as I get into it I'll lose that though.

Boobz · 23/03/2016 06:28

Last night turned into date night, so went off plan with red wine and some choc for dessert. Fast day today!

yumyumpoppycat · 23/03/2016 13:58

Boobz hope fast day goes well, loving your impromptu tuesday date night, dp and I haven't done that in what feels like ages!

Ok soo didnt do the fit test but 22 minute hard corps cardio 1 and core1 done, takes about 35 minutes to do both, v annoying you have to skip some adverts though. I quite liked it, with the cardio I couldn't keep up with the speed of the burpees - I counted 13 for their 20 on one set. I think fit people on here would really have to really go for it HIIT style on the cardio to have a proper benefit. I had to modify the core workout a lot as my core is rubbish, also you need a decent amount of floor space - rolling planks wtf! I am happy I got it so far though, resistance tomorrow!

Caitlin maybe 22HC would be a good bridging step from T25 to p90x3? But it would be awful to buy another you didn't like, I am a bit too good at justifying buying things I don't really need.

Lavendar I am seriously impressed by anyone who loves exercise enough to get in a babysitter Smile

Enjoy your hols purple !

caitlinohara · 23/03/2016 15:33

Poppy Don't tempt me!! I am seriously skint and need all manner of things for my new house! It's only £40 though isn't it? I might just give it a go as an 'extra' - I'm getting bored of T25 again because I only do Alpha Ab Intervals, Total body Circuit, Ript Circuit and Upper Focus (and occasionally Lower if I feel like punishing myself further) and I hate all the cardio intervals in everything, they just piss me off. Just when you're getting going with the weights, you have to start doing tuck jumps or something, which is pointless for me. I am actually trying to GAIN weight if anything (this is an issue for me), so am on a whopping 2400 calories a day but no gluten or refined sugar, and too much cardio feels like a waste of time. My plan was to get fit enough to do the Mass calendar from P90X3, but I need to sort out my pull up bar and it keeps being pushed to the bottom of my (very long) list.

Poppy Not even sure what a rolling plank is. Sounds bad.

yumyumpoppycat · 23/03/2016 15:56

Caitlin maybe Roastie and I can let you know what the resistance disk is like and you can decide. To be honest though the cardio cds might be ok too as burpees and lunges and stuff are quite good for strength too I think? could be wrong Confused

Just had an after school incident with some percy pigs and a viennese whirl - this is why I am better of having my last meal before pickup!

lavenderhoney · 23/03/2016 19:09

Roastie, I might have the dc leftovers if they don't eat all their veg. I usually sit down at the table with the dc and we all help ourselves so I might pick at salad - I always make a salad with meals. But a few bits of lettuce, I mean! I really get full quickly and just don't get hungry.

Rather excitingly I've discovered I don't need to wear the compression pants as my cs overhang is going and it doesn't hurt when doing insanity or month 2 of t25. I'm having a rest day today as I'm uber busy. And my ex dh is driving me crazy breaking the children's order which he insisted on (!) so I've been busy writing letters to his lawyer inbetween working and everything else I have to do. Plus this morning I had a VIP meeting for breakfast so although up at 6 was getting ready for that instead.

Boobz, your date night sounds fun:)

RoastieToastieReastie · 24/03/2016 07:15

Lavender I'm just so jealous you don't feel hunger as I have so many issues with hunger.

Yumy glad I'm not the only one modifying the core workout, I think I modified nearly everything as my core isn't good. Interesting w hat you say about burpee being too fast as I was doing them at their speed but could only manage about 8 that quick then I modified to doing them slower. When I did insanity I was used to burpee but I need to get back in the swing. Did you feel that it was all over and it was so quick you felt like you cheated with your workout?

Concert yesterday so no workout and terrible eating, but I'll count that as my day off for the week and keep working through without a rest day the next week and a half.

Caitlin I'm also gluten and refined sugar free too.mlet me know any good snack ideas you enjoy.

onlywhenyouleave · 24/03/2016 07:33

Morning.

Did Extreme Circuit this morning - I did not nail it Sad it was hard!! I guess it is called Extreme for a reason Grin

lavender I too am very jealous that you do not feel hunger as I always seem to be hungry and thoughts of food take up far more time in my mind than they should. No wonder I am 4 stone overweight Confused

boobz good luck with your fast day.

Hi to everyone else Smile

lavenderhoney · 24/03/2016 09:05

I'm a low carber which I think helps. When I first started using the bootcamp on here, I ate loads but as my body readjusted I found I would for instance make an omelette with 3 eggs and a filling but be unable to finish it. So now it's two eggs and less filling. I eat little and often, and just a few ( 2-3) Brazil nuts for breakfast is fine for me, then lunch omlette then sardines etc.

Missed my morning workout so must do one or two tonight or I'll struggle. Looking forward to a weekend of fitness and excercise:)

caitlinohara · 24/03/2016 11:31

Roastie ooh snacks! Corn Thins with cashew or almond butter... Greek yogurt with fruit and almonds.... Roasted spicy chick peas (although I have to restrain myself a bit because I get really bloated with pulses).... have just eaten a hard boiled egg and 2 slices of turkey as a snack actually Blush. I also have a NutriBullet so I sort of count that as a snack because I put gluten free oats and nuts in it. I do eat an awful lot and I only get hungry when I get the balance wrong.

Dh has been given strict instructions to get the pull up bar sorted in the garage asap, so hopefully should be up and running with P90X3 next week. Still dithering over 22HC though. I am seriously stressed at the moment with work at the moment and have a deadline looming but I really don't want to let my fitness slide.

Boobz Sorry for talking about food on your fast day!

EleanorAbernathy · 24/03/2016 13:48

I'e decided I'm not going to attempt to do a whole week of anything, as it keeps going wrong! (cat problems last week....)
I'm just going to do a workout whenever I can - just nailed Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit, not done that one for months and forgot how much I like Insanity!
It's also made me realise that I just don't like Max:30 that much.

Can anyone recommend me a new one to try? I love Insanity, don't like Max:30, and didn't think T25 pushed me hard enough. I like strength AND cardio, and don't have anywhere to put a pull up bar, so what else might I like?

Boobz · 24/03/2016 14:00

Fast day was ok but I did have a biscuit and too many milky coffees as I was at an internet cafe working out of the house to escape the children. Oops. Still only had about 500 Kcals for the day though, so not too terrible!

Today I ran 13 miles (had planned on 16 but in the end I didn't want to do the extra loop around my house so just ran straight there for a half marathon time instead).

Have had sushi for lunch - yum - so am feeling very virtuous. MUST NOT SABOTAGE with DD's party later today.

Any nice plans for the bank holiday weekend?

Eleanor I can't remember but have you tried P90X? It has 2 x cardios (but I think Insanities are harder cardios) and LOTS of strength - you can use pull up bands instead of a pull up bar if you don't have a door to use the bar... they look pretty effective on the vids. TBH I have only really done P90X and Insanity (and a tiny bit of Max30 with Purple that week a few months ago) so I don't really have much to offer you in terms of advice!

RoastieToastieReastie · 24/03/2016 15:27

Eleanor have you tight about insanity asylum? This one is my nemesis but has great workouts. I haven't done it for yonks and I seem to remember a pull up bar in one of the workouts, but there's another option you can do instead of pull-ups with a resistance band.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/03/2016 18:40

£3.50 the asylum at cex, about £2 delivery. I got a copy there but paid way more boo!!!! No accessories though.

I have been a wee bit rubbish on diet and weightloss front today but well done everyone else Blush

Boobz · 24/03/2016 18:51

Had 1 small piece of pizza and some chocolate cake at DD's party. Thank god I ran 13 miles! And salad for dinner.

RoastieToastieReastie · 24/03/2016 18:59

Caitlin funnily enough the snacks you suggest I do tend to have too! I love a corn thin with nut butter and Greek yoghurt with nuts and fruit. I also love tepid warm super thick porridge with fruit (it's my ultimate comfort food) and seeds too. I gag at the smell of boiled eggs but wish I could cope with them better as DD loves them and I hate cooking them for her. I've never used a nutribullet so don't have much experience of that one.

22hc resistance 1 done today, Cardio and core 1 will be tomorrow morning.

RoastieToastieReastie · 24/03/2016 21:14

I content forgot to tell you what DD (5) did when my 22hc DVD set arrived. It came in a beach body envelope (I've only ever bought from Amazon before so never had the bb packaging) and when DD saw it she spontaneously sung the do do do do do do do do do do 'beach body' tune (the one at the beginning of the DVD iykwim). That's branding ;) . Made me giggle! Clearly four years of bb workouts have fed th tune and brand etched to her memory.

Purpleraindeer · 25/03/2016 07:33

Hello all!
I'd like to say I'm logging in to report loads of exercise but I'm notSad. Now staying with extended family so feel a bit weird about just going into the living room and doing a work out. And have been eating loads. Am going to make sure I do a workout today in case I actually explode into a ball of wobbly flab....

Caitlin - you should definitely read 'thinner leaner stronger'. It's right up your street.

And Eleanor - I read that you didn t like max30 and I felt personally offended! How weird is that?! I love it!

I can't remember who was asking about doing something new but what about jillian Michaels 30day shred/ripped in 30?

caitlinohara · 25/03/2016 09:45

Eleanor Someone I know swears by JM's Bodyshred - I've not done it myself but it's her most recent I believe and similar format to Body Revolution but harder. She reckons it burns about 300 calories in 30-35 mins and is a mix of strength and cardio so might be worth a look?

Did Total Body Circuit again yesterday and actually enjoyed it. Feel like dying during the 180 jumps with burpees but am getting stronger with the push ups, I can feel it. Off away with dh for the night tonight but might try to squeeze in a bit of Upper Focus before then.

Purple I might have a look at that book, thanks. Roastie eggs rule, we get through 24 a week in this house, easily! If I could keep chickens here I would!

caitlinohara · 25/03/2016 10:56

Purple One of his other books is called "Cardio Sucks" Grin That's my kind of guy! Grin

EleanorAbernathy · 25/03/2016 11:06

Haha sorry Purple! I don't know why I don't like it to be honest, it could have something to do with being ill every time I've tried it so far, I just like Insanity a lot more!

I looked at the Asylum one before I got Max:30, and decided against as all the reviews say you need more room than you do for Insanity, and I've only just got enough space for that (and have to modify a couple of moves and change direction a few times to fit ).

Will have a look into P90X and the new Jillian Michaels one - I loved the 30 day shred, it feels too easy after doing Insanity though! And I still think 6W6P is the best ab workout ever.

caitlinohara · 25/03/2016 11:38

Eleanor I agree with you and I think I would find older JM workouts a bit easy now tbh, but Bodyshred quite a different kettle of fish to Shred I believe. Might be worth a look if there is a money back guarantee. Never liked 6W6P though, just didn't do it for me. Prefer Shaun T's abs workouts. I loved NMTZ and probably got the best results from doing that one 4 times a week but it's just too long for me to fit into my day nowadays.

yumyumpoppycat · 25/03/2016 17:40

Hmmm, new JM looks interesting, not buying it though I promise Halo

Ok so I did resistance 1 from new tony H and LOVED it, possibly because assisted pull ups ARE a bit easier now I have lost a few lbs Grin it was circuits of pushups, pullups, weighted squat row things, situps with a punch (I had to put my hands on my thighs to do the situps though) . 22 minutes were perfect - hard work but not killer. although the sprint burpee pushups at the end made me feel ready to quit!!
