New thread for an (almost) new year, and almost exactly a year since the start of the original thread!

Also yum which one does push ups on their knees (apart from Tanya) as I haven't noticed but that may be because I am dying on the floor at those points Wink

yumyumpoppycat · 17/03/2016 21:21

The one that shaun T grabs and makes do Pike Ups like a loon!

yumyumpoppycat · 17/03/2016 21:23

I think the perfect one is the one in speed2.0?

EleanorAbernathy · 17/03/2016 22:32

No-one can be as annoying as Tanya in Insanity! (I think they made her less annoying in T25 to give her a break!)

I managed my 5k run tonight, despite still hurting everywhere from Tuesday's weights - in just over 30 mins which is fast for me! I was a bit worried I was totally unfit now as I really struggled doing the same run last week, but that must have been because I was coming down with norovirus.

Going to do another Max:30 tomorrow, probably Tabata Power. :)

RoastieToastieReastie · 18/03/2016 06:13

You see Tanya in insanity doesn't annoy me, but I know she seems to to a lot of people. When I was doing insanity I stared making up little Nns for the cast and she was called eye candy ! There was also the spitter (I hate it when, I think in pure cadio, that woman spits on the floor), josh groin, argh, I wish I could remember more. I can't be the only one to have done this? Blush

Many of the women in turbo fire I find annoying. So American OTT energy.

I don't remember being annoyed by anyone in t25 though.

I got an email from Bb saying my DVD had been dispatched :)

onlywhenyouleave · 18/03/2016 06:45

roastie God yes, Turbo Fire is full of annoying American women, including the instructor Wink

Shaun T is hands on with everyone in T25!!

Boobz · 18/03/2016 09:03

Tanya is annoying in the fit tests in Insanity, less annoying in the actual work outs.

The one in the pic I think has the best bod, but I think Anna (the shorter, cuter blond one) is my favourite as she is so perky without being totes over-perky (and slightly cross-eyed) like Tania.

Favourite boy is Akhil (sp?) as he always looks like he is about to stop and then Shaun T comes and kicks his ass and he works harder.

Ariel does some amazing moves with those reaaaaly long legs - super impressed by her.

Tony from P90 is a loon but I kind of love him for it. Don't mind Dreya, LOVE Pam the Blam, because she has the best name ever in a workout DVD.

I do feel like they are kind of my friends now, we have hung out together every day for an hour for the past 3 years, just about.

This is hilarious. It's clear we all spend a lot of energy thinking about the people on these DVDs!

I love everyone in the max30 cast as they all look as utterly shattered as I am. I particularly like swishy hair lady as she is hardcore. (I googled and she's called Sarah). I also like shanita as she always maxes out early and seems really pissed off with Shaun t for pointing that out.

Alice the rock climber from p90x3 (in mmx and also total synergistics) is bloody impressive too. She just decides not to use the pull up assist because 'I feel strong today'. One day maybe that will be me?!

Got up this am and am aching from press ups and pull ups. Glad it's a rest day. Am on hols next week so my hybrid is on hold. Will work out as usual but only things which don't need equipment and I can get on Internet. Am thinking t25 and/or insanity. Boobz - recommend me some of the short work outs. No way am I doing one of those hour long ones!!

Boobz · 18/03/2016 16:41

Pure Cardio or Cardio Power and resistance... I know you don't like the stretchy bit, so if you skip that, they are about 25 mins long (and 5 mins warm down).

If you want something harder but not tooo long, then Max Cardio Conditioning is 45 mins (or about 35 if you skip stretch and warm down).

RoastieToastieReastie · 18/03/2016 18:41

Don't skip stretch, they are the most important part of the workout (words from Shaun t not me!). They do feel in a weird way like friends as you see them so much don't they Blush. I tell josh not to overstretch his groin every time before Shaun t does and I always tell Shaun t he doesn't even remember the name of his moves in pure cardio before he does too Grin . I've also liked a fair few of the les mills instructors and even tania and Shaun t and tony. I like to see what sort of things they do in rl Blush I'm not a stalker I swear. I too love pan the blam, best name ever. I love how in piyo sweat (I think) Charlene saying something about '45 years young' talking about the man in the DVD with her doing the moves but just implying it (I think his name is Steve) then almost in a panic voice says 'Steve that is' as if she's then worried everyone will think she's 45! I'm probably overthinking this far too much...

Had to do a last minute dentist appointment today in workout slot as the only appointment I could get so will be straight back on it tomorrow morning

lavenderhoney · 18/03/2016 19:54

I don't mind Tanya, although I close my eyes at the spitter. There is a man at the back in one of the insanity DVDs who looks like he can't believe he is there, got the wrong room and thought it was going to be a bit of Zumba or something:) he looks as shocked as me tbh:)

Boobz · 19/03/2016 06:26

Hahaha Lavender - the dark haired pale dude who always looks like he is about to pass out - I know the one you mean!

I can actually recite the whole of Tony's Ab Ripper X script from start to finish, - every joke, ever line... it drives DH mad when we do the workout together and I prompt Tony's every line, he's like "will you shut up!"

Boobz · 19/03/2016 06:29

It's my turn to get up with the kids - we went out last night and got drunk with friends visiting... I feel so shit this morning. I hardly ever drink at the moment so when I do it hits hard! Just want to crawl back to bed but thee muppets are not allowing that.... whilst DH snores on...

Am going to have to do a double today to work off the extra calories I drank/ate at dinner last night! Groan.

lavenderhoney · 19/03/2016 07:10

Boobz, yes, that's him:) and a hangover - Hope you feel better soon. I'm very tired as I was up late chatting to a friend but no alcohol involved. And yesterday was a bit hellish as it was 2 x t25 and one insanity, which I had to squash in early morning and during the evening.

I'm going to do today's insanity later on, after dog walking and DC activities.

lorelei9 · 19/03/2016 09:46

Focus T25 is on offer on Amazon today

I'm interested but can it be done in a flat without horrendous noise travelling to downstairs?

I normally do cardio at the gym and do most of my weights and stretching at home.

Also I'm not good at complicated choreography, is there much of that? Thanks!

lorelei9 · 19/03/2016 09:46

PS people have asked on the questions but got varying answers.

onlywhenyouleave · 19/03/2016 10:11

Lorelei I guess it depends on your flooring and how light on your feet you are? We have hardwood floors and I make a noise which I am paranoid about waking the kids up as their bedroom is above the lounge. There is a lot of cardio in it so your feet are hitting the ground constantly!

lorelei9 · 19/03/2016 10:21

Only, I'm quite light kn my feet but just wondering if I will get the benefit if I have to be really careful. I take it the percentage cardio outweighs the percentage weights?

lavenderhoney · 19/03/2016 10:35

I have wooden floors and I use a yoga mat to do it. I also have indoor trainers - they don't mark the floors and are a different design than normal trainers.

It doesn't matter if you can't keep up or start with a different leg does it? I'm hopeless at choreography so it suits me:) and once an aerobics teacher told me to stay at the back as I was creating chaos:)

lorelei9 · 19/03/2016 10:43

Lavender, do you have downstairs neighbours who are home when you do it?

Re choreography, it just gets on my nerves if I can't follow it!

I'm just thinking it could save me time in the AM, I mean not having to go to the gym.

lorelei9 · 19/03/2016 10:44

Lol at creating chaos, I love it when people start to follow someone getting it wrong....Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 19/03/2016 12:17

If you have carpet and did it in bare feet and shut the door it might be ok, there are some jumpy moves and not that much weights. It's only 25 minutes though so if you time it right it shouldn't disturb them maybe you could do the more vigorous workouts in the evening! Kettlebells might be a better option and you can do them barefoot.

onlywhenyouleave · 19/03/2016 12:29

Yes the percentage of cardio far outweighs the weights work.

Choreography-wise, it is very simple so I wouldn't worry about that.

lorelei9 · 19/03/2016 12:35

Thanks
Tbh I prefer to workout before work but I'm very careful not to disturb people any time

It looks interesting and I did one of his Hip Hop Abs from youtube. He seems quite fun.
In summer I often go to a local park to speed walk a few miles and sometimes that's too much time with gym but this might be a way round it, I'd get to perk up in the morning and then have a dusk walk in the park.

yumyumpoppycat · 19/03/2016 14:48

It is fun, and seems to sell on fairly well on ebay (I always tell myself but have never sold on ebay!)double check the price on ebay before you buy as there might be a better price.
