I have 39.23 miles to add from the last few days. I did a lovely hilly 20 mile run last Friday which I was a bit daunted by before I did it, but managed to run up all the hills, apart from one really steep stretch which I had to walk. My extremely fast running friend who I nicked the route from then confessed that she walks that bit too so I felt much better. With any luck, if I can manage a hilly long run at long run pace then it will be a lot easier to run a flat marathon.
emummy – really hope your boiler gets fixed soon, what a nightmare!
Cinnamon – hope you manage to find a route after all, it must be really annoying.
Halle – am v. jealous of your ballot place. Have you done it before? It is beautiful, but it was a lot busier than I had expected.
LastQueen – well done on the hilly 10k, it's nice to have a race that you enjoy even if it doesn't involve getting a pb. I run a local one in September which has a huge hill from 3-5k and is not a pb course but I just look at whether I can improve on my time on that course IYSWIM.
MyBlackCat – sounds like you will be fine for your 15 mile race. I can't remember but is it off road (unusual distance otherwise).
Keyser – Well done! Has your sister forgiven you yet??
Anglaise – your 20 miles was more than 10 minutes faster than my 20 miles, so it's quick by my standards!
Listened to the second part of the food programme on running, I found it interesting but ultimately I am not going to turn vegan, or eat loads of fermented food, which is what was being suggested. I am loving the podcasts generally though – on today's run, as well as the Food programme, I also listened to the Nature podcast on the discovery of gravitational waves. I feel like I am being educated whilst keeping fit. Multitasking
