This is a continuation of the parkrunning thread where are all are welcome to chat about tourism, tee-shirts, PBs and everything else parkrun (and sometimes non-parkrun) related.

If you have been lurking on a previous thread now is the time to come out and say hello Grin. Like parkrun we're very inclusive and always welcoming to new starters Smile. And we love hearing about new courses we haven't been to Smile

My fellow timekeeper and I had different numbers, and different to the tokens man too Blush but the emails seem to have gone out ok, so it can't have been to troublesome!

Grin Thursday

When I was on tour a few weeks ago I didn't appear in the results, but I knew exactly where I was (right behind Cinners Grin). When I emailed them they were very nice and said that there were two of us in the same position so they had taken a guess which one of us it was Grin

It will all be fine Smile

hi all, couldn't run last week and our parkrun is cancelled this week and next.

So I went out for a run, but was very slow and felt very jelly legged nd wobbly. Not sure why, only made 4.5 k before walking home. Just as well it wasn't at parkrun!

Plan to run 3 times from home next week, and get back into it after the holidays. Or I may try and persuade dh to go visiting next week as ours is cancelled

Stormont

Lovely grounds, not too many hills, 2 laps. A few first-day niggles, but they'll sort those, I'm sure.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 30/08/2015 10:00

Excellent Melanie

I will be chortling all day at "Waggy Racers" Grin. In fact I might just have to go and look for Dick Dastardly on YouTube.

Hi steppe maybe you would have kept going if you were running with other people? Enjoy your running this week!

The name "Waggy Races" is used by a friend of mine who started doing run-with-your-dog, or canicross events here a couple of years ago. The next one is on 11th October, the day after I hopefully do my 100th Parkrun, on 10-10, and the day before my birthday. That's going to be some weekend!

chutneypig · 01/09/2015 02:04

That's definitely quite a weekend MelanieCheeks.

Hope the weeks running goes well Steppe. Some days it just seems to go like that but we've got to keep going.

I'd hoped to get out today but it's 32 C at the moment so that ain't happening Grin. Maybe in the morning but I've got an early start. I owe it to my Garmin to log a run in California though!

Blatherskite · 01/09/2015 23:29

I'm back!!

Who's missed me?

cinnamongreyhound · 02/09/2015 08:06

Me!!! I was just thinking yesterday you hadn't been around for a while. No running or just to busy life?

cinnamongreyhound · 02/09/2015 10:07

Or too busy life even!

ThursdayLastWeek · 02/09/2015 16:01

Blathers!
Enjoy your exotic running chutney, sounds fun!

Blatherskite · 02/09/2015 18:11

Bit of both. Kids have been off school which has made running hard and I went and got myself a job....organising kids OCRs Grin

I did manage to run a half marathon and an accidental marathon* over the bank holiday weekend though as well as volunteering at Northampton parkrun and MK junior parkrun!!

Between running, the kids, being away and race planning, I've been rushed off my feet!

Hoping to be back now though.

*accidental because I set out to do 1 3.28 mile lap, then felt OK so kept going.....and going....and going...and going until I'd run 26.2 on absolutely no training. I'm expecting the DOMS to hit anytime soon but so far, I'm OK!

HalleLouja · 02/09/2015 22:10

5k pb. Tick. Wasn't done at parkrun. Rested my legs last Saturday and marshalled. I actually love marshalling.

HalleLouja · 02/09/2015 22:13

Well done blathers on the marathon and the job too. You will need to let us know where they are as I am not a million miles away from you and DS might fancy one.

Blatherskite · 03/09/2015 14:22

So far there is one event in Silverstone (September 19th - 16 days away - panics!!!) and one in Exeter (March 19th/20th) but we're looking at 6 other events over the course of next year.

It would be great to have a few MNers there for my first one if you can make Silverstone?

HalleLouja · 03/09/2015 19:43

Silverstone is probably too far. If you do any nearer St A let us know.

standingonlego · 03/09/2015 22:26

Hi blathers what a fab job! My boys did the Iron Run 3k kids course in Kettering the other week and LOVED it. I will have a look at silverstone timings and if fits with hockey we would love to join you. Missed you at my home run too by the sounds of things!

ThursdayLastWeek · 04/09/2015 08:33

My last secret parkrun tomorrow - scan next week!

cinnamongreyhound · 04/09/2015 09:24

Ooooo exciting ThursdayLastWeek!!

I am timekeeping while being there for our newest rd on his first solo run, so will be an early start to make sure set up is right and stay until results are all done so taking ds3 with me.

ThursdayLastWeek · 05/09/2015 07:35

Morning parkrunners.
I think I've tweaked a muscle in my butt so I shall be taking it easy today!
Hopefully the numbers will be less swollen today as schools mostly gone back and I won't feel like I'm taking my life into my hands on the downhill trail section!

LoveMILbut · 05/09/2015 08:10

Morning! Am slowly getting back into Parkrun. No 12 today at Newbury. Unfortunately my PB was set back before I had children..... Not sure I'll ever see it again!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/09/2015 11:06

Morning parkrunners Smile

Lovely conditions at Wallace - chilly but sunny and dry. Lots of old and inspiring friends - Team Kerr in their special Hoyt running chair, the guy with the prosthetic I'd chatted to last time, we all signed a card for another of our regular wheelchair friends who's in hospital at the minute, and clapped and cheered those making their first parkrun.
