This is a continuation of the parkrunning thread where are all are welcome to chat about tourism, tee-shirts, PBs and everything else parkrun (and sometimes non-parkrun) related.

If you have been lurking on a previous thread now is the time to come out and say hello Grin. Like parkrun we're very inclusive and always welcoming to new starters Smile. And we love hearing about new courses we haven't been to Smile

Hello parkrunners, thank you as always to OhOne for organising us.

My home parkrun is Northampton, with additional Sunday outings to Milton Keynes Junior parkrun with my 2 DS.

I have met many lovely and encouraging folk through both "real life" parkrun and this awesomely friendly thread :)

standingonlego · 17/08/2015 21:40

Bushy park you say....I will be in London on weekend of 18th October :)

chutneypig · 18/08/2015 06:38

You've had so much to cope with jchocchip, it must be a huge challenge. If you do look at c25k, are there clubs around to support or would you prefer to tackle it yourself? Hopefully that 100 T shirt will be winging its way to you soon.

I don't want to hear about hills at Lanhydrock. La, la, la. It was quite sobering at Poole to come in in the 500s Thursday but I took heart from having more people behind me than usual Grin. Not really, it was great seeing so many people out and a lovely setting.

I'm very tempted by Bushy Park too. I'm hoping I can persuade the family to the delights of active tourism rather than convenience ones. I accidentally showed the DCs a pic of Bushy Park and their jaws dropped.

feetheart · 18/08/2015 07:30

That's it chutney, work on them slowly! My DS is as keen to run Bushy as me now, didn't take much though :o

ThursdayLast · 18/08/2015 07:50

I'll be there on the 3rd Oct. kind of annoyed I'm preggers now, might have been able to get a PB Grin

Southend on Sea was super flat, I did it in 25 mins - but I actually find the flat quite hard work. I'm used to having a bit of downhill to help me out!

feetheart · 18/08/2015 12:36

(and 18th just in case :))

jchocchip · 19/08/2015 07:20

Must be such a worrying time cinnamon but a chance he may outgrow it so fingers crossed x. I confess to having considered parkrun when planning a trip to London in September and realising it was close to Bushy. But 1. I'm not running properly at the moment and 2. Meetup is Sunday so would require two nights away which I can't do at the moment :( I'll hang around here for a while, find my headphones, buy some new trainers and see if I can get my morning run back.

ThursdayLastWeek · 19/08/2015 16:18

Hello hello just checking in and making sure I'm on my favourite threads Smile

ThursdayLastWeek · 21/08/2015 13:59

I'm being a terrible hostess again this week -I won't be parkrunning as a few circumstances have changed and ill be running a 10k tomorrow evening instead.
Sorry chutney.

I am feeling quite happy that I will have run at least one race while pregnant though Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/08/2015 18:01

Hi all, going to do my usual home run tomorrow, but have been "interviewed" by my running team for a bit in next month's newsletter (about my tourism exploits....)

cinnamongreyhound · 22/08/2015 08:34

Good luck in your race ThursdayLast and yay for being famous MelanieCheeks!

I've been to put my signs out and walked dogs now feeding ds3 and hoping my for a sneaky parkrun while dh is packing the car for our holidays Smile just need him to settle so dh can get on otherwise we won't leave on time.

MelanieCheeks · 22/08/2015 11:49

Enjoyable run - was chatting afterwards to a guy with a prosthetic "blade runner" leg. It was his first parkrun, and he said he enjoyed the hills as it was good to get a "spring" off them!

Was it today Feet is in Portrush?

HalleLouja · 22/08/2015 13:07

I have a wedding on 17th October.... but maybe could sneak in before. Would need a lift though as am crap at driving on motorways and the like. Pretty please feet.

MyBlackCat · 22/08/2015 16:50

I ran on a course I had not ran for over 12 months - it's a little flatter than my usual parkrun and I took 40 secs off my PB and more than 2 mins off my previous best at that course. Really pleased, but don't think I'll be achieving that time on my usual course Grin

Really enjoyed going somewhere different - need to try and do more of that.

ThursdayLastWeek · 23/08/2015 17:45

Well done MyBlackCat! My third closest one is apparently flat and fast, but it's still an hour and a half away! So I'll save that for when I'm feeling a bit more energetic I think.

I thought you ladies might be interested to see the elevation of last nights race...

Ooooh, new one starting near here this week, at Stormont! You may have seen it on telly now and then....

cinnamongreyhound · 27/08/2015 16:01

Ran at home, lost you all from tio due to limited internet on hols and probably won't be at a parkrun this weekend Sad

Teawaster · 27/08/2015 16:02

I'm doing my 12th on Saturday in Bangor Co Down. I've only missed one Saturday since I started and that's cod I slept in. It's very addictive.

ThursdayLastWeek · 27/08/2015 16:39

Hello all, I've been opted into timekeeping this weekend - my least favourite volunteer role boo

ThursdayLastWeek · 29/08/2015 07:19

Happy parkrun day friends Smile

chutneypig · 29/08/2015 07:41

Back home (with Internet!) for us today after the truly amazing experience of Lanhydrock last week. Such a shame to miss Thursday but so glad we went despite the rain. DD declined to come and DS was looking a bit dubious at the start (in the rain with a phenomenal number of tourists) but he was all smiles after.

The run briefing was very funny but he definitely wasn't kidding about it not being a PB course!

ThursdayLastWeek · 29/08/2015 07:50

Oh I saw the RD at my race last weekend, he's a really good one! He said there was a tree down on the course when they went around doing the set up!

chutneypig · 29/08/2015 11:41

There was, it was huge, they had two marshals down there directing us round. It's certainly a lively course!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 29/08/2015 12:41

Hello parkrun friends Smile
