Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

I'm (sort of) in! I just won't do the fast as I'm on hols so clearly fasting isn't a holiday type thing..... And I might not do the yoga as I don't really like yoga. I will do the 5 insanities tho. I just need to find them on the Internet. I've found insanity pure cardio for today, does anyone have links to any of the others as I can't find them on vk unless I'm looking in totally the wrong place?

Purpleraindeer · 25/10/2015 09:10

Somehow missed loads of posts. Eleanor welcome back! Glad body coach is going well. Sounds super effective. I love the idea of it, I think I'd just like do to it with a private chef coming to cook for meSmile

Jackster - enjoy your hols too!

Boobz · 25/10/2015 10:00

If you search for Shaun T Purple, then they come up as Shaun T: Insanity No1, No2 etc. Think they are all there.

Welcome back Eleanor. Good work on the measurements. I have a pair of 26 inch waist jeans I want to get back into post surgery!

Just done Insanity Pure Cardio and Insanity Cardio Abs. Am also doing my fast day today.

Waves to Jackster and others.

yumyumpoppycat · 25/10/2015 11:43

Brilliant Eleanor, I have been wondering about you! What is the secret to perfect protein pancakes {intrigued}

Hi everyone {cheery sunday waves}

OK I have sort of done week 1 (6 workouts) of p90x3 now...only the rest workout left outstanding but that one is optional Grin. It has taken me 2 weeks Blush. So I will
try your plan Boobz but using p90x3 and aiming for an actual week. 1 of the workouts is yoga and I will do a fast.

Purpleraindeer · 25/10/2015 15:27

Insanity pure cardio done! Grin enjoyed it. I'm def less cardio fit than I used to be - too much t25 strength stuff I think. I did skip the stretch after the warm up tho - feels weird to stop and stretch in the middle.

Which insanity are you doing tomorrow boobz? I'll try to do that one too

Well done on p90x3 poppy. My bday is next sat so we'll see then whether DH has done the decent thing and got it for me as I'm quite keen to try it too

Boobz · 25/10/2015 16:21

You have to stretch!

Am doing Plyometric Cardio Circuit.

yumyumpoppycat · 25/10/2015 20:28

Purple I am really pleased with p90x3 I think it is more doable than IM30 but I am doing the starter/lean plan and have modified instead of using a pull-up bar and taken 2 weeks to it !

Boobz · 26/10/2015 07:59

Interested to know how P90X3 is different to bog standard P90X yum - are they on VK?

Have just done Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance and am sweating like a pig. My inner thighs really ached - not sure if it was from Pyramid or Insanity Pure Cardio? Either way I had to battle through the first 10 minutes as was in agony.

I know I keep going on about it, but taking that month off at the end of chemo really killed my fitness - am struggling to get through Month 1 Insanitys (ies?) without stopping!

Eleanor do you have before and after photos?

Have you gone anywhere nice Jackster?

Boobz · 26/10/2015 08:00

Wow VK is amazing isn't it - all the P90X vids on there too!

Boobz · 26/10/2015 08:04

Oooh, I love a transformation video. Just googled P90X3 to see the difference from P90X original, and got "Ed M"'s video - pretty cool

Ed M

yumyumpoppycat · 26/10/2015 18:46

Boobz I had a look at your link that is a pretty spectacular change from Ed Grin the women haven't had such drastic changes which is interesting. I am not sure what the difference is with p90x3 but I think there is less equipment needed and obviously it's much quicker as 30 mins.

Turns out I had mixed up my schedules last week and accidentally moved to block 3 of Lean schedule of p90x3 I did one of the workouts I missed today and instead of weights it is another really tricky balancey yoga workout - how on earth do people do a crane?

Anyway yoga tick and 500 cal fast day tick Grin {polishes halo}

Purpleraindeer · 26/10/2015 19:59

Insanity plyo cardio circuit done! Grin really enjoyed that. My legs were aching too boobz - was the jumping from yesterday's cardio I think. Those 'number 1 drills' (the press up ones) are evil aren't they? I cannot do the press ups fast enough. Is it me or does Tania look v sultry in insanity? How does she do it - I look all red and sweaty!
Skipped the stretch again - sorry - kids were a nightmare after no nap day so felt I should hurry up to give DH a hand.
What insanity are we doing tomorrow?

I love this challenge!

Am not surprised you're feeling the effects of a month off boobz. I'm sure I read it takes half the time to lose fitness as it does to gain - very depressing.

Well done on the fast/yoga poppy.

Boobz · 26/10/2015 20:20

Are you in my challenge too Yum - did I miss that?!

Yes the level anything drills are evil. As are power jumps.

Ok then let's get serious purple. Tomorrow we shall do Max Interval Circuits - this is my favourite (or it was before I became massively unfit). The killer move in this one is floor switch kicks (wince)

Weds will be my yoga day I think. Will need a break by then!

Boobz · 26/10/2015 20:21

Prepare to sweat you like have not sweat before....

yumyumpoppycat · 26/10/2015 20:43

I think that's as far as I go with the challenge Boobz - my own challenge is to do a full week of P90x3. I could swap in one insanity max 30 workout instead of a second yoga session though?

Purpleraindeer · 27/10/2015 07:07

Ok max interval circuits it is. I've woken up this am aching like an old lady so it's not going to be pretty....

Boobz · 27/10/2015 09:13

OMFG I LOVE that work out.

I am so sweaty I was slipping all over the floor. Picture evidence submitted - nose and chest sweat in view (excuse no eyebrows - I've been assured they will grow back eventually).

I used to be able to get to 26 mins to go before having to stop in the middle of a move (the whole work out inc stretchy bit is over 59 mins long) but today had to stop at frog jumps around 33 mins to go. Ugh.

Feel so good to have done a Month 2 Insanity though - has been weeks since I have done that. Feel like the chemo has finally exited the building.

Tomorrow Yoga and fast.

Beachbody THREAD 2 (Insanity, T25, etc)
yumyumpoppycat · 27/10/2015 18:09

Well done Boobz! Really amazing that you are able to do insanity when you have been having chemo you should count that as even better than pre chemo.

I did p90x3 agility today felt a bit silly running around masking tape lines on the floor. can anyone do plyo pushup jumps? I just end up kicking my feet up like I am impersonating buckaroo Hmm

Purpleraindeer · 27/10/2015 20:59

Good work boobz! I really wish I could say I did it too and felt the sweat but somehow I ran out of time and only had time for a 25min t25. Chose the beta abs one which was both hard and not really very satisfying as I didn't work up a sweat. Angry
Will do the insanity one tomorrow am hopefully but it's ds bday so we'll be busy!

Poppy - are plyo push ups the ones where you jump with your arms and your legs? I can do them but I don't get much 'air' so it's not very impressive! Am a bit Shock at the requirement to put masking tape on the carpet - that seems very committed!

yumyumpoppycat · 27/10/2015 23:25

Thems the ones purple! luckily I have laminate, I should have drawn cross markers in pen on the tape but that seemed a step too far ;)

Hihellohi · 27/10/2015 23:49

Hi everyone, can i join in too.
I've been reading quietly whilst doing Insanity - I am on week 7, so nearly at the end!!
But.. I am not seeing very good results - i have only lost 1.5kg on the scales (from 63 to 61) and there hasn't been a marked difference in inches lost either.
I had a baby 6 months ago and i just look so podgy.
I am so so disappointed. I'll still continue until the end as I have gotten so far but how can this be?
My diet isnt that bad - i don't really eat chocolate/crisps/biscuits anymore (since August), no sugary cereals (now porridge), help me.
I don't see how i could do more exercise than this (ie, add more on to the time) as ive got work and two small DC to look after..
I only need to lose about 5kg - why is it so hard?

Well done everyone on their workouts! So nice reading everyones experiences.

Boobz · 28/10/2015 06:57

Purple - you better bring it - I did your challenge so you have to do mine!

HiHellohi - Welcome! That must be super annoying - I can understand your disappointment. It has to be your diet if you're in week 7. Porridge is not actually that great as it's still very carby - try switching to eggs for breakfast - I have two boiled eggs and one (small) piece of brown toast and butter for breakfast every day. Lunch is salad with 2oz of chicken (with olive oil and balsamic dressing), and dinner is 3oz of fish with green vegetables. Snacks are a few nuts, tuna mayo on piece of bread again, or half an apple. No juices, no sugary drinks, no sugar in tea or coffee.

Reduce portions - you actually need very little (depending on your height/build) compared to what you think you need, and even if you are exercising. I generally follow the Cross Fit/Zone diet which is high protein, middle fats and low carb. Cutting out alcohol has a huge effect too (my biggest weakness). When I following the Zone diet strictly (AND Insanity-ing) I can lose about a stone in 6 weeks when I put my mind to it, but at the moment I am being a bit less strict as I am not allowed to lose too much weight before my surgery.

Having said that, I am fasting every other day at the moment (to try and counteract the booze factor) and I've lost 2.5 kg in 10 days. Am currently 54.5 (was 57 when I started fasting) and I can't really get any lighter, so am still exercising to get my fitness up but not being toooo strict on my non fast days.

Do you feel stronger/more defined from the working out?

Purpleraindeer · 28/10/2015 09:09

Well - I dug deep! Max interval circuit done! You were right that's a super sweaty work out. I hate floor switch kicks and those suicide things! I'm wary of saying this as its your favourite boobz, but I found it a bit too long. I got frustrated in all the water breaks (but I did need them!) and an hour is a massive chunk of the day - I do prefer max30 as its over faster, but I'll admit I feel more tired now than I do after a max 30.
my 2yo was in and out the whole time with motivational comments like 'mummy I'm having a water break' and 'mummy are you digging deep?' Grin

Hihellohi - welcome. You must be frustrated but it's better to be fit rather than thin. Unfortunately you do really need to cut calories to lose weight- I was in the same place as you in Jan. I lost a bit of weight just from exercise but it then fell off the second I cut calories. I lost 14kg in 5mths.
Right - off to enjoy ds bday now. I've earned the. Bday cake for sure! Cake

Boobz · 28/10/2015 09:26

Yay well done Purple! You will feel it in the inner/under side of your arms tomorrow - or at least that's where I am feeling it now!

It is long, but all the month 2 work outs are an hour, so you do get used to it.

I am about to do my Yoga session and then maybe Max abs as my tummy is still flabby despite getting my weight down through fasting.

Happy birthday to your DS!

Hihellohi · 28/10/2015 16:30

Hi,
thanks for your replies boobz and purple
I suppose it's easier to type than do - I will just have to eat less.
But I'm really not eating that much (trust me, I know how people can underestimate how much they eat) so I don't know how I can cut it down more and still have energy to exercise and generally focus.

Either way, I'll try and cut down more and see what happens in the next week if anything.

Haven't done today's cardio conditioning - will have to do it when everyone has gone to sleep!
