Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

sarah god yes, I am at that point too Grin think we are going to Nandos before the show - I fear I am going to order as much stodge as I possibly can Blush

Boobz · 17/10/2015 15:59

Thanks guys. I started my fast today - am doing well so far! Think I will make it without breaking.

Can't exercise until Monday as have 3 tots on my own all weekend and I can't do work outs in the evening so will have to wait until Monday, but your collective shouting as working - I need someone to keep tabs on me to shift this extra stone I have hanging around.

How are you Sarahlou, and your mum?

Hey Purple - can you do a post work Barry's class on Weds 11th Nov? I know that is forward planning but that's when I will next be back in UK (day before surgery).... or anyone else in London who wants to join?

Purpleraindeer · 17/10/2015 17:10

Glad the shouting worked boobz. Would love to do Barry's on 11th. Have put in my diary. Grin
What about a challenge week to motivate you for Monday? Maybe all 4 t25 gammas by Friday? They're on vk.
DH is doing his marathon tomorrow. Has been carb tastic in this house all week. I've never seen so much potato rice and pasta.

Boobz · 17/10/2015 19:31

Ok that sounds good - remind me again what I have to do to find them - is there a link etc?

Purpleraindeer · 18/10/2015 06:18

This is the link

m.vk.com/
You need to sign up, go to videos and search on t25 gamma

onlywhenyouleave · 18/10/2015 10:32

I like that challenge boobz - definitely something to aim for Smile In particular, the burpee hell that is Speed 3.0...you need to come back and report that you did every single burpee Wink

Boobz · 18/10/2015 16:04

Does the gamma work out have the crazy press up challenge?

Boobz · 18/10/2015 20:14

Well that was easy (finding the vids I mean)

So it's:
Speed 3.0
Extreme Circuit
Ript
The Pyramid

Yes?
Right, Speed 3.0 tomorrow (Monday) then! Which one is the hardest?

(P.S. Shaun T with hair!!)

Boobz · 18/10/2015 20:20

OK am doing a bit of browsing - am looking at Insanity Max 30 - why is there no music? And what's the deal here - you just keep going until you "max out" - which is when you basically have to stop for a breathing break?

Is this supposed to be easier or harder than normal Insanity?

onlywhenyouleave · 18/10/2015 21:04

IMO the hardest gamma is Speed 3.0 but that is because of the burpees of every variety. Pyramid is hard (but my favourite) but is strength-based. No idea about insanity max 30 - sorry.

Purpleraindeer · 19/10/2015 07:42

I honestly can't remember which is hardest. Overall I think speed 3.0 is ok but I find it impossible to do the burpee bits at the speed they do them.

The workout with the ridiculous press up set is max out power. Give it a go if you see it on vk boobz.

The idea with the max out is that you work as hard as possible and keep up with the crew/go faster than them until you need a break. The idea is to work as hard as possible And take breaks rather than pace yourself and carry on until the end.

Am going to try to complete the gamma challenge but can't work out on Friday and worked out sat and sun so I might need a rest day at some point. Speed 3.0 first - bring on the burpees Grin

onlywhenyouleave · 19/10/2015 07:55

Good luck ladies with the gamma challenge - keep us updated Smile

I am running tonight, first time in a month Shock really want to get back into it but struggling with time - I can do a beach body dvd in 30 minutes whereas a run takes at least an hour after picking my friends up and driving to wherever we are running!

Boobz · 19/10/2015 08:56

Right, so will start with Speed 3.0 then Purple - BRING IT

(Does he say Bring It in T25?)

Boobz · 19/10/2015 09:32

Okaaaaay.

So whomever I took the piss out of for saying that Insanity wasn't "that fast" - can I eat some humble pie? Christ on a bike, how on earth do you keep to that rhythm?

To be fair to myself, a) I am not nearly as fit as I was even a couple of months ago, and b) I think I have done Insanity over 625 times, and therefore my muscle memory is hard to shake to a new routine!

I miss the little stretchy break in Insanity!

Hmmm. I'm guessing once I memorise the moves I may be able to keep up a bit more, but was way off the pace.

It's a much more sing-songy/dance vibe from Shaun - I think that's why I also struggled a bit - the moves are fast in Insanity but they are all for 45 second or a minute, so you're not constantly swapping which I found hard to follow, not knowing what was coming next each time.

I hope I get better! Looking forward to the next one (which one will be do next Purple?)

And yes I did all the burpees but I'm not sure I kept up to their pace as I was always a little bit behind no the next move when I stood up each time.

Boobz · 19/10/2015 09:36

P.S. Am on day with of the 4:3 diet, and today is a fast day.

I know it is early days, but so far it's been super easy! I think it's easier to not eat anything at all, rather than count calories, as once I have a taste of something I just want more and then fall off the wagon (especially with wine). I wonder if it will actually work and I will lose weight (am trying to stick to The Zone on my eating days).

Boobz · 19/10/2015 09:44
  • day 3
Purpleraindeer · 19/10/2015 09:58

Boobz GrinGrinGrin
Speed 3.0 is fast - I'm glad it's not just me that thinks it! It's def easier the second time as you know the moves but the first time I did it I spent a bit of time just floundering around.
Well done on the fast. My new dress feels tight today. I need to stop the chocs

Boobz · 19/10/2015 11:01

WHat are you weoding next Purple?

Sarahlouboo · 19/10/2015 19:02

Boobz I must have missed something - are you not eating at all for 4 days?! Well done on speed 3.0, it's a killer! Me and Mum doing ok, thanks for asking. Feeling a lot better for getting some exercise done last week - sleeping better. No point being heavy and unfit as well as sad!

Only - hope you enjoy your run.

Purple and Boobz - good luck with the gamma challenge. I thought about joining you. I may still.

Done core speed tonight. Is an extra on T25. Blimey it's fast! One armed burpees - um no Shaun T, not tonight! Two armed burpees at speed is bad enough! Still I am pleased as I really didn't want to, then came home and had a row with DH (as you do!), then had to coax him around to doing workout with me!

Hi to everyone else! Jacksterbear hope you are ok?

Purpleraindeer · 19/10/2015 20:17

Speed 3.0 done. I was thinking evil thoughts about Shaun t on the last round!

Extreme circuit tomorrow boobz? i can't remember what that's like, but it definitely has less burpees thank god.

Purpleraindeer · 19/10/2015 20:21

Cross posted Sarah. Glad the exercise has had a good effect. Exercise does wonders. Deffo join us on the gamma challenge!

I've only done core speed once and I think that might be because it was awful?! One armed burpees always make me worry I'll dislocate something or generally fall over and break my nose!

Boobz · 19/10/2015 21:21

4 days eating, 3 days fasting, with fast days consisting of 500 calories or less.

Have been over on the 5:2 message boards, getting lots of tips. Will swap to 5:2 I think once I have hit goal weight. Have done another fast day - nearly finished and time for bed and it's been fine again! Honestly no eating is much easier than counting calories.

Boobz · 20/10/2015 07:16

Day 2 of Gamma challenge: Extreme circuit here I come!

onlywhenyouleave · 20/10/2015 07:41

Well done ladies on Speed 3.0 Smile enjoy Extreme Circuit - I like that one.

Managed a very slow 5.2k jog last night and really enjoyed it - really need to make the effort to do it more often!

Boobz · 20/10/2015 07:57

So the first circuit was tough on the arms (but I started on 8kg, I think that was why) and then swapped to 4kg for the rest of the work out.

Those tricep push ups are nasty! I had to go to my knees (god my fitness has really gone!)

Quite liked the change of pace to speed 3.0 that's for sure.

Is there an abs gamma work out? I feel like my tum needs to pummeling. I might do Insanity cardio abs tomorrow, or even better, P90 Ab Ripper X.

P.S. I had my harddrive restored and got my MN beachbody spreadsheet back with our goals - anyone need reminding?

P.P.S - Have done 3 days of the new diet and dropped a kilo! Nice! I know I'm not supposed to get too thin for surgery but am pleased with the rapid results so far. Am finally back to pre-chemo weight (but not pre diagnosis weight - still another 3kg to go for that).
