Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

hello - Im doing P90X3 - Just in my first week - got CVX today. Did the Challenge yesterday but am pretty hopeless - can't do a full push up, have to have my hands on the sofa to make it easier. Can't do a proper pull up either - have to stand on chair and use legs too!

My DH assures me I will get better!

Am really enjoying the routine of it and that fact it is so convenient.

I was doing 10k run training over the summer.

Bumpsadaisie · 12/10/2015 11:14

PS the first three days of PX903 I couldn't walk without being in pain! Better today tho.

yumyumpoppycat · 12/10/2015 12:05

Hifive bumps and welcome Grin Sounds like a batism by fire - even with a chair I can't do a pull up. I didn't bother with the challenge ....I am going to have to do it now aren't I, drat! Which schedule are you following? Well done on 10k too, something I want to try at some point, but I actually hate running so not sure why Confused

Boobz you have more than earned that retreat. I hope it will help and be something to look to (although even your treat's aren't that relaxing!)

Bumpsadaisie · 12/10/2015 12:21

Hi YumYum - thanks for the welcome! I hate running too - god knows why I do it! I think its cos I like it once its OVER .... Grin

Sarahlouboo · 12/10/2015 20:52

Hi Bumpsadaisie, wasn't sure if you were new to the thread of just an old poster who had had a name change! Welcome and well done on P90. No way could I do a pull up!

Purple - I am a bit like you but with Gamma Rip't Up. Love it and could do it every time. Used to be Speed 2.0 that was my go-to.

Poppy - ouch! Hope your shoulder is better now?

Boobz - I read that in the Times and have read a few things along the same lines. Interesting that there has not been much research because essentially there is no money to be made (apart from running fasting clinics!). Go for it, it sounds brilliant! I would need support to do that kind of fasting.

Did alpha lower focus tonight. DH was moaning that it was hard for an alpha - I said the mumsnet thread says there is no such thing as an easy t25 so crack on! I will no doubt feel less cocky tomorrow when I have to do the old drop-sit manoeuvre to get onto chairs and toilets!

yumyumpoppycat · 13/10/2015 09:29

Hope your not too achey. Grin at drop sit. My shoulder joint thing just hurts when i put my weight on that arm in exercise now. Did P903 yoga - think its in place of a rest as there are 7 possible workouts a week. I was soooo rubbish falling over all over the place - think I prefer piyo as a bit easier to follow but maybe I will get there with time.

Sarahlouboo · 13/10/2015 10:57

Poppy I feel fine! Phew! I am rubbish at yoga, I am just so impatient.

onlywhenyouleave · 13/10/2015 12:32

Hi everyone Smile

Welcome to bumps how is the aching?

Jackster hope life is getting slightly easier for you Flowers

Boobz I honestly don't think I could do such hardcore fasting but I guess that it the environment to do it in. I struggle with my 2 days of fasting each week - hate the feeling of being hungry. I always think I will get used to it but I dread every fast day Sad

Yumyum what is the P90X yoga like? I am trying to find a decent yoga workout but struggling. Still not found anything that stretches me like the T25 stretch DVD but looking for an alternative. There is a whole DDP yoga set of workouts on VK but I only want to do it once a week so not sure that would work.

I am sticking with the 21-day fix programme at the moment (again on VK). I like the formats of the workouts, the trainer is excellent and explains the moves really well and it feels like a good workout. So far, I have done total body cardio (cardio with weights), lower workout, upper workout, plyo workout and one called dirty thirty which is a mix of all different exercises (bit like Rip't Circuit). If anyone wants a change from T25, I would definitely recommend it - they are 30 minutes long.

I did the total body cardio yesterday and my abs are aching and, strangely, one bum cheek even though I did equal exercises on both sides Grin

High five to everyone else.

Purpleraindeer · 13/10/2015 20:48

Boobz I read about that clinic when the article was in the times and thought how nice it sounded (apart from the feeling faint with hunger bit). I've heard of people doing intermittent fasting and it being really good for their health.

Hope you managed to sit down and get up gracefully today Sarah. I had the same surprise as your DH with lower focus. I had somehow thought alpha = easy and realised my error after about 5mins.

Welcome bumpsadasie. Hopefully I'll join you on p90x3 soon. Chin ups sound fun/impossible. My ambition might be to do 1 unaided. It seems impossible right now, but then again so did a full press up when I started t25 so maybe I'll get there.

Purpleraindeer · 13/10/2015 20:49

Oh yes - I did sweat intervals tonight. Am trying to stop ducking out of cardio and just doing ripd circuit Smile

yumyumpoppycat · 14/10/2015 11:12

Well done purple. I remember sweat intervals being very ... well, sweaty Grin Fingers crossed for your bday....how long to go?

Only I am not sure I would recommend the yoga it prob depends what type of yoga you like. It wasn't boring, but also wasn't very zen like. Apparently from Amazon reviews P90x has a very long yoga session (over an hour!) which some people prefer to a rushed 30 min session.

Sarahlouboo · 14/10/2015 19:38

Only Grinhope your bum cheeks have evened up!

Purple - I was surprisingly limber thank you! I'll never forget when I first began doing these fitness DVDs how I had to scuttle around until my thighs stopped hurting!

Alpha cardio done tonight. Blooming high kicks - humph!

onlywhenyouleave · 14/10/2015 19:39

yumyum I like more 'stretching' yoga rather than 'mindful' yoga iyswim? Haven't found anything that compares to the T25 stretch dvd for getting that 'aaah' feeling with stretches so maybe I should just stick with that?

onlywhenyouleave · 14/10/2015 19:41

sarah nope still hurting on one side Grin just did 'dirty thirty' which has made it ache again - am expecting pain tomorrow Hmm

yumyumpoppycat · 14/10/2015 19:58

It was probably more like piyo than the t25 one only but I think there is a stretch workout too that I haven't got to yet. There was a lot of balancing not much aaahing!

Sarhlou well done! Got to love the high kicks!

Sarahlouboo · 15/10/2015 20:57

How are everyone's aches and pains? Meant to do alpha upper focus but did beta upper focus by mistake. 'Twas hard! But good. Feeling back in zone. Signed up to 24 mile walk at beginning of December. Have only done the T25 stretch DVD once but you are making me want to do it again - no-one does stretching as good as Shaun T!

Hope you are all busy out there digging deep Smile

Purpleraindeer · 16/10/2015 17:54

I did beta upper focus on weds. Yet again made the mistake of thinking that it would be easy. My shoulders are still hurting now!
Well done Sarah on your work out streak - sounds like it's got you back in the habit?
Am going to do something cardio-y tonight. Busy and stressful day so need to do some jumping and punching! I really find it helps me wind down.Grin

Sarahlouboo · 16/10/2015 18:08

Yes it is deceptively hard! The streak has ground to a halt tonight - got friends around for tea. But tennis tomorrow and a long walk plus t25 on Sunday. Not weighing myself this time around, doing it for my mental health (but secretly hoping I lose weight of course!)

Sarahlouboo · 16/10/2015 18:09

Sorry Purple meant to say hope cardio sorts out the stress BrewWineThanks

Purpleraindeer · 16/10/2015 18:16

Oh it's good stress - you know that feeling when you've been dashing around being really productive? But just need to burn off a bit of energy when I get home so I can become 'home me'if that makes sense? Might have some Wine or Cake to celebrate the weekend now you've suggested it though. Have fun with your friends tonight!

Boobz · 16/10/2015 22:37

Can someone give me a massive kick up the arse?

I have done about 5 work outs in the last 2 weeks. I just can't get myself motivated. I think it's because I don't really look like me at the moment - thin hair (I lost about 40% from chemo), an extra stone hanging around, no eyebrows or eyelashes, chunky thighs and tired eyes. I look in the mirror and don't recognise myself, so I pour another glass of wine and sit down again!

Argh. I am kicking starting with 4:3 fasting, starting tomorrow. DH away at the rugby all weekend and I have got my DD's friend over for a sleepover so very unlikely to find time to do exercise over the weekend (am rubbish at working out at night) so will have to get back on the horse on Monday. Really really want to shift this stone before surgery on 12th November.

MAKE ME DO IT. BEAT ME WITH A STICK.

Purpleraindeer · 17/10/2015 10:12

JUST GET UP AND PRESS PLAY BOOBZ!!!!
You enjoy it once you get started. And even more when you finish!!!

There! I shouted at you for motivation!

I had a similar sofa moment last night. Just couldn't press play, then had a takeaway curry and chocolate. Felt gross and mentally weak for flaking out Blush. So, got up and did cardio challenge first thing and feel a bit better about myself now.

onlywhenyouleave · 17/10/2015 10:28

boobz STOP LOUNGING AROUND ON YOUR ARSE AND GET EXERCISING!!!

There is my motivating speech for you Smile

No exercising for me today - was out with friends last night so rough this morning and then out to the theatre tonight when hopefully I am feeling a bit better Grin

Will definitely do something tomorrow though Wink

Sarahlouboo · 17/10/2015 14:43

I am torn because I think you have been through enough without being shouted at for not exercising but as you wish...JUST DO IT!!!!! The thread needs you - you are Head Girl of toughing it out! You'll feel better for it. Report back once you have done a workout please SmileThanksHave you had your last chemo now?

Sarahlouboo · 17/10/2015 14:46

Only - I am hanging too Confused. Did tennis - still crap at it and not helped by massive headache. Moving into the stage where I want to inhale any carb in a 10 mile radius.

Purple - well done on cardio. I reckon you deserved the chocolate and sofa night after you busy week.
