Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Guys - I am not 18% body fat. The scales are wrong! I am waaaay off that. Purple can testify - she has seen me in the flesh!

yumyumpoppycat · 03/10/2015 15:32

Boobz, check about how much water you should drink before using them, as this can affect the reading. I think some people just follow the trend on home scales so they can monitor if weight is coming off in the right way.Which ones did you get? I can never get mine to take a fat reading tbh but they cost about a tenner.

Did a mini kettlbell work out today as was a lasy arse this morning and ran out of time before taking kids swimming!

yumyumpoppycat · 03/10/2015 15:36

PS Jackster I felt achey and not like exercising before work yesterday but did extreme shed and shred and it was quite fun Shock so thanks for the inadvertent suggestion!

Purpleraindeer · 04/10/2015 17:20

Hope you've all had a good weekend. Has been lovely weather here. Smile
Didn't manage gamma on Friday. I lost all motivation and sat around instead. Ended up having 3 days off in a row. Did ript circuit and tabata power over the weekend so made up for it. Am quite enjoying the strength stuff at the mo.
Sarah - we've not heard from you in ages. Hope you're ok?
Boobz - is it your last chemo this week?
High fives to everyone else!

Boobz · 05/10/2015 08:35

I am about to do Insanity Cardio Power and Resistance. Depending on how I get on with that I will do Cardio abs afterwards.

I haven't done a work out for over a week. I am really tired now, from the treatment.

I have a Barry's tomorrow morning, and then yes LAST CHEMO! WOOOOO! 24 weeks of the torture cap device all done tomorrow.

I then have surgery on the 12th November. Am having implants rather than boobs built from my thighs, so the recovery should be a lot quicker and I hope to take off 4 weeks and then start exercise gently in mid December. By Jan 1st I want to be able to do Insanity again.

Am then going to be training for the Rome marathon on the 10th April, an that TOUGHEST event I linked to about 2 weeks after that.

I basically want to get as fit as fucking can over the next 6 months, to combat what cancer has taken away from me since diagnosis in March. I am soft and a bit flabby, and have no strength like I used to (I couldn't do 15 diamond press ups now if you asked me to!) I am so OVER this cancer shit and just want to be me again.

And then we'll be moving back to the UK in the summer next year, so I better start saving now for my Barry's addiction :)

There is a small possibility I will need more chemo post surgery, but that's a long a complicated explanation to why, and only a marginal chance anyway, which would fuck everything up, but I am trying to stay positive that that won't happen and I can just get on with my life from December once I am healed enough to get on the treadmill!

Sorry that was a me me me post - I will catch up on everyone's news tomorrow during chemo when I literally catch go anywhere for 4 hours!

Boobz · 05/10/2015 08:54

*can't not catch

onlywhenyouleave · 05/10/2015 11:09

Happy Monday everyone Smile

boobz woohoo, you have been so strong since your diagnosis and am so glad the end is in sight for you Flowers

Just done Plyo Fix (another beach body workout programme - 21 day fix). I really really enjoyed it - think I am having Shaun T fatigue Grin. Anyway, if anyone has done a metafit class, it is reminiscent of that and definitely a HIIT workout. The moderator is a larger lady which I think is much better than having Tania (who could clearly smash the full-on workouts) groaning whilst barely breaking into sweat Hmm

Needaninsight · 05/10/2015 20:41

Hi all - can I join? Smile

Just started T25 last week, after an exercise break of 18months following birth (horrific) of second child.

I am currently 2 stone overweight and so unfit - very unlike my old gym bunny self.

I've lost 4lbs the first week and 4 cm Grin Feeling very excited about what's to come!

onlywhenyouleave · 06/10/2015 07:18

need welcome Smile well done on your first week! How are you finding T25? Which workout is your favourite?

Purpleraindeer · 06/10/2015 07:34

Boobz - you sound like you've got a plan. Imagine how great you'll feel crossing the finish line after the marathon. And you'll have the pert boobs of a 20year old too! I like the idea of dedicating 6mths to getting as fit as possible. Mara training is a big change. just FYI my DH has done the FURST training plan. Is better as its only 3 runs per week (long, speed, tempo) so it's less time consuming and you can cross train too. Might be worth considering? I think it has worked for DH as he rain 20m comfortably at target Mara pace last weekend.

Welcome needaninsight. 4lb in a week!! Wow!

Did gamma speed 3.0 last night. Am feeling a bit dejected as I'm losing fitness. I found it harder than before. Am a bit worried I might be putting on weight too but haven't weighed (don't want to face it!). I think it is the drip drip of less exercise and eating slightly more just gradually taking effect.... Must get a grip and do something about it but that seems hard too Hmm

Jacksterbear · 06/10/2015 20:24

Boobz the end is in sight - woohoo! Smile

Need - welcome and good start.

Things gone all pear-shaped on the home front so struggling to exercise. Managed a quick 5k on the cross-trainer today rather than my usual Tuesday gym double. Grr.

Waves and high-fives to everyone else - sorry short of time to name check everyone but have read all your posts! xx

yumyumpoppycat · 07/10/2015 15:03

Need - yay welcome Grin

Agh Jackster - hope your ok Flowers

Boobz you have been totally teeth gritted amazing Star

Purple you are also a superstar - how old is your baby, less than one and you're full time AND exercising - totally inspirational

Hifives only and everyone else.

Ok day off v little WFHome to do (and ignored housework) so T25 speed 1.0 - harder than I remembered - then coffee and cake with a friend, and then {drumroll} P90X3 accelerator (2nd hand of course ;) )... Blinking Norah that was hard. If its on VK please someone do it and tell me I wasnt being a total wuss!

onlywhenyouleave · 07/10/2015 19:50

Evening everyone Smile

yumyum tried to find P90x accelerator (just to watch Grin) on VK but don't think it is there.

jackster hope everything is ok and you can get back on the exercise wagon soon Smile

Did Dirty 30 today - really enjoyed it but I can already tell that I am going to wake up in agony tomorrow Hmm will report exactly where the pain is (I suspect all over) in the morning!!

Boobz · 07/10/2015 23:46

Thanks guys.

Did Barry's yesterday - my thighs are in agony. There was this ridiculou one legged squat thing - totes impossible!

Jacksterbear · 08/10/2015 12:14

Ooh lots of pain and hardcoreness - excellent stuff. Grin p90x3 is the really hardcore strength one, right? And what on earth is dirty 30 - sounds intriguing! Grin Nice work on the Barry's, Boobz.

Thanks for the well-wishes.

I took advantage of a brief lull in the giant shit-storm that is my life atm, to do combat at the gym today. Amusing moment during a circuit with loads of high-knees intervals when the instructor clocked me showing off a bit picking my knees up really high (thank you Shaun T speed and cardio workouts!), and said to everyone else - look that's how to do it, copy that! Which was most gratifying, but then of course I felt obliged to keep up the intensity level for the rest of the circuit while secretly thinking - shit I'm getting really tired now, helllp! BlushGrin

OP posts:
Boobz · 08/10/2015 17:51

What is the shit storm - did I miss that?

Jacksterbear · 08/10/2015 18:46

Problems with my DS Boobz. (ASD + extreme anxiety + new school year = horrendous unrelenting stress.)

OP posts:
Purpleraindeer · 09/10/2015 07:25

Jackster FlowersCake. Hope things get better soon
I did like the story of you being star pupil in the gym! Apparently there is a new type of class where everyone wears heart rate monitors and your bpm is shown at the front on a screen and then your name flashes if you're not working hard enough! Shock no way am I signing up for that.
Ripd circuit last night. Idly googles p90x3. Might buy it second hand...ooh - just thought - it's my bday in a few weeks... Hmm

Sarahlouboo · 09/10/2015 20:54

Hi everyone, so pleased there is a new mumsnet app! Just had a lovely catch up of all your news. **
Boobz - sounds like a fabulous plan but you do know you are crazy right? In the best possible way Wink. I love reading your posts. Hope you managed to get an exercise fix in this week.
Jackster hope things are settling back down again for you? I love that you were star pupil but also smiling about you then feeling as though you had to keep it up!
Hello to the rest of the gang Thanks and thanks for the shout outs in my absence. Totally fallen off the wagon in the last couple of weeks. Been a bit wet...literally - I can't stop crying Smile!!! Missing my Dad and worried about my Mum. It's a blooming nuisance and I am so fed up that all my hard work is unraveling before my eyes. Eating tons of crap too. So I thought I would haul my arse back on here and try and get some inspiration. I just know I will feel better for exercising so I am going to commit to doing T25 five times in the next 7 days and see if it helps. It can't make me feel any worse (well apart from aching limbs). It has been interesting though because I have not been sleeping as well (know that is prob partly emotional but think is also just not as physically tired) and I have these blood sugar dips that I didnt have for ages when I was eating more sensibly. However...work tomorrow and drinks/food at a friends so it all starts Sunday!

Sarahlouboo · 09/10/2015 20:56

Oh sorry for shouting at you Boobz! It didn't look like that on my phone!

yumyumpoppycat · 10/10/2015 22:34

just a quick post to say welcome back sarahlou - not wet in any way Flowers I found that I had the blood sugar thing recently too, that's partly why I thought shit time to get back on it. Exercise is supposed to help with blood sugar stuff too I think.

Purple please don't be infected by my crazy dvd buying but it would be totally brill if you get p90x3

Sarahlouboo · 11/10/2015 19:08

Thanks Poppy Smile hope you not aching too much from p90

Been for a quick 3 miler and managed it fine so on with T25 alpha level tomorrow. Hope everyone else has had a lovely weekend.

Purpleraindeer · 11/10/2015 19:35

Hi Sarah - really good to have you back. I'm sorry life is so tough at the moment. Glad you enjoyed your run and good luck with the 7 day challenge. I'm sure you're right about being more physically tired helping you sleep.

I'm officially addicted to ripd circuit. I did it again today. I literally can't seem to choose any other t25. Must snap out of it. Did max out cardio last night and nearly died. Wrote off all of my good work by going out for a massive meal with booze and pudding platter. Was worth it Grin

Have asked DH for p90x3 for my bday. He may indulge me, but then again he had a little moan about all my exercise DVDs cluttering up our living room, so maybe he won't want to add to the collection.

Have a good evening all!

yumyumpoppycat · 12/10/2015 10:45

Well done sarah, I redid a couple of alpha workouts recently and they are still hard.

Purple my dp put most of my dvds in a large plastic tub in the front room - I will have to post a pic it is embarrassing how many there are but most of them were under a £1. We have another tub full off resistance bands and bits and bobs, doesn't look great tbh, I might re locate them at some point. I was originally going to take the dvds out of their covers and put in a big folder so might do that at some stage.

So I injured my shoulder doing that P90x3 workout! I did the p90x3 Warrior workout today which has some really hard long pushup sequences but overall the pace in that one is reasonably ok and there were some water breaks so not as bad as some of Shaun Ts. I am doing the Lean schedule so no pull-ups!! So far both workouts have been body weight and cardio so similar to IM30. There are also classic, mass and doubles schedules.

Boobz · 12/10/2015 11:05

Oooo P90X! Brilliant. Will follow with interest.

Am about to do Insanity Pure Cardio. Am back on the exercise wagon now until surgery, so here I go.

Also, am thinking of doing this for medical/spiritual/body reasons. Yes it is expensive but I think it will really help stop my cancer coming back (have been doing a lot of research of cancer and fasting) and will also get me in the right frame of mind for 2016, cancer free and fighting fit I hope:
