Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

I did speed 2.0 tonight poppy. I do enjoy it!
I find that I don't have pelvic floor issues if I go to the loo right before I work out and don't drink more than a few sips during. that is probably tmi tho! Blush

EleanorAbernathy · 24/09/2015 02:21

I did Insanity (Max Cardio Conditioning) for old times sake yesterday and really enjoyed it! Might do another tomorrow. I was thinking recently, Shaun T has the best stretches out of all the workout DVDs , and I now do some version of the Insanity cooldown stretches after all exercise. :)

Here's a photo of our kitten Holly looking motivational for everyone Grin

Boobz · 24/09/2015 14:18

No worries both, I knew it was a long shot!

Had my blood transfusion yesterday so am going to do a work out tomorrow to hopefully end all work outs!

Love Max Cardio Conditioning.

Had such a good meeting with my surgeon - am really happy this is all nearly done!

yumyumpoppycat · 24/09/2015 16:29

That's brilliant re surgeon Boobz x
Eleanor your cat looks ready for a serious workout! How is the body coach diet are you still enjoying it?

Love a bit of speed 2.0 purple Grin

Did kettlbell drills this am. work and now Parents eve and high school visits this eve ...gawd I am a grown up aren't I, how did that happen?

Jacksterbear · 24/09/2015 16:48

Boobz you sound really positive, that's great. Smile

poppy secondary school eek! Good luck. I sometimes do the Turbofire HIIT 20 that's on the PiYo DVD set and also find myself holding back - for me it's fear of hurting my back during all the arm-flinging/twisting type moves.

Eleanor - cute cat!

Purple is it this week you have gone back FT at work? (Lost track of the weeks a bit!) Has work calmed down at all or still stressful? Well done for keeping up the exercise regime.

Things still stressful at home. DS (ASD) really does not cope with transitions, so autumn term is always horrendous but things will hopefully settle down a bit. Soon. I hope!

Been to gym today - body combat - good fun. Have been doing some Hip Hop Abs and PiYo in between gym visits.

Eleanor - even your cat is into exercise. You are obv a hard core household!

Boobz - that's good re the surgeon. It's good to have someone you trust.

Jackster - yes this is my first full week. It's been ok. I wfh on Thursdays and that is an absolute life saver. And I cheekily did ripd circuit in the am too. Felt bloody hard doing 2 work outs within 12hrs. But I was able to do all of the abs work without stopping which I wasn't when I last did that workout a few months ago! Grin. Sounds like you're having a tough time. At least you know it will get better tho as it sounds like you've been through it before.

Am looking forward to the weekend - 5 days of work makes the week feel looooong!

Boobz · 27/09/2015 13:33

Okay people - who can I convince to do this with me in London in April?

(Hoping this link works):

TOUGHEST

I think it would be amazing - I'm not really into mud hence never having done Tough Mudder before, but this looks like a gas! I think we all need a challenge! I will be 5 months post surgery so I think I am going to go for it...

Who's with me?!

yumyumpoppycat · 27/09/2015 21:25

Shiiiiiit! erm...maybe I could come and watch Wink On facebook someone mentioned doing spartan first but looks like none scheduled for next year yet.

Purpleraindeer · 28/09/2015 09:19

I'd totally do that with you boobz. I love that sort of thing! Am going to do something similar (but prob a bit less scary) in January.

And one other thing - can anyone on this thread do the push up set in max out power (for boobz's benefit it's basically millions of plyo push ups). It is evil - am not normally this defeatist, but I am starting to think that it might be impossible....

Boobz · 28/09/2015 12:40

Oooh, now that sounds like a challenge Purple! How many plyo push ups is it, and is it a plyo push up when you clap in between? If not can you link to a youtube video which has the kind of push up you mean?

I have got about 6 friends saying yes to Toughest - if you are serious Purple then we'd love to have you along... I think us short-arses will struggle with some of the obstacles by literally being too short to reach high/long enough on some of them!

Purpleraindeer · 28/09/2015 17:58

I knew you'd see the push ups as a challenge boobz. This is the link to Dumbbells and diapers which describes it

dumbbellsanddiapers.com/post/109818243196

But in case that doesn't work, it is
Plyo push up jack (jump arms and feet out and in at same time), arm jack push ups (just arms jump), pop push up (pop arms off the floor at top of push up), step out push up, plyo push up on knees, 4 counts down/up push ups on knees. Each exercise is for 45s with a 15s rest. I've not yet made it thru without stopping or modifying (or both!)

And re being short - in my experience of these races it's an advantage as you're also light so team mates can lift you/give you bunk ups then you pull them over.

Boobz · 28/09/2015 23:31

I have no idea how that push up sequence worked - you will have to film a clip of you doing it and upload to YouTube please so I can understand better.

Have you seen the "flying monkeys"? No amount of team work is going to help us there I fear...

Boobz · 28/09/2015 23:32

Annoyingly have double booked my Tuesday Barry's to clash with my oncologist appointment. Have begrudgingly cancelled Barry's, but it was a close call... (cancer schmanser)

Boobz · 28/09/2015 23:33

PS I now have no eyebrows, which are actually V important from stopping getting Insanity sweat in your eyes.

Pfft.

yumyumpoppycat · 29/09/2015 00:26

Ouch Boobz that sucks ....you will need to start wearing a retro sweat band! Hopefully your hair will start going back soon..you only have a couple more weeks of chemo?

Eek flying monkeys - I can't even do the park monkey bars! You and purple are epic as ds would say!

yumyumpoppycat · 29/09/2015 00:27

PS Jackster I hope your ds is beginning to settle at school x

onlywhenyouleave · 29/09/2015 15:46

Hello Smile

I have been absent due to embarrassment at not actually doing any exercise AT ALL (let alone Shaun T) for over a week Blush

So much for my determination to be a size 14 by Christmas Hmm

Anyway, after much procrastination, I jumped back on the bandwagon yesterday with a fast day and the Pyramid Smile

Boobz yay, retro sweat band and you can look like one of those people from that pop video a few years ago (the Valerie one - hope you all know what I am talking about!)

God that Toughest looks very hardcore but loads of fun Smile

Hi to everyone else - sorry not name checked you all but I have been reading everything.

yumyumpoppycat · 30/09/2015 14:19

only (whispers) Instead of losing 10lbs I have gained about 10lbs over summer till now.
Anyhoo drawing a line under that---------
Have worked out 3 days in a row now, but short workout c 25 mins. Felt a bit bad today as I have a lovely free day and only did T25 but I did TBC so that counts as doubly hard ;)

Boobz · 30/09/2015 15:07

My new scales arrived today. Am 57.6kg. Which isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still 7.6kg away from where I want to be, surgery or not.

Ho hum.

Boobz · 30/09/2015 22:23

Oh and they say they measure fat, muscle and water content as well... but I am skeptical - they say I am only 18% body fat which I do not believe one iota.

What is an iota?

Purpleraindeer · 01/10/2015 07:30

Well done on the 3 days in a row poppy. That counts as 'getting back on it'!

Boobz - sounds as if your scales arrived at exactly the wrong time. Mind you, if you really are 18% body fat then you deffo don't objectively need to lose more weight (although you may want to) as that's a really athletic level of body fat. I'm somewhere around 25% - which now I come to think of it means that a whole leg is just fat!! Shock was out last night having wine (yum) but home with a t25 gamma tonight. Can't decide which one....

Jacksterbear · 01/10/2015 16:24

Purple that plyo push-up circuit sounds vicious! Congrats on 25% body fat, that's pretty good - think 25% and under falls within the "athletic" range yay! Boobz 18% wow! But you certainly look extremely lean in the photos you've posted (although I know you haven't posted any for a while) so I wouldn't be surprised.

poppy well done on this week's efforts. And thanks for the well-wishes re DS - things are finally easing up just a tiny bit.

This week's exercise: Monday Jillian Michaels "Extreme Shred and Shed" level 2; Tuesday spin and pump classes back-to-back; Wed rest day; today combat class at gym. Love combat! Super-high energy levels. And lots of focus on being strong, etc; no fannying around being all girly. Grin

only, welcome back and well done for getting back on it.

all.

Jacksterbear · 01/10/2015 16:36

Oh and p.s. I've just realised that Les Mills Combat is a Beachbody programme (and Pump it seems used to be), so I'm not even cheating on this thread by doing them - result! GrinGrin

OP posts:
onlywhenyouleave · 01/10/2015 16:53

boobz 18% Shock wow! I hate to think what mine is.

Jackster I also love combat - unfortunately they don't do it at the gym I am a member of but they do have workouts on the VK website Wink However, it is not the same doing at home Hmm I miss it.

Did alpha cardio last night and really enjoyed it. Haven't done it for month and forgotten how good it was. Still not venturing back TBC though Wink

yumyumpoppycat · 01/10/2015 17:14

I could believe that too Boobz .... my bodyfat is prob double that and I am the same height as you ...still doesn't take away from the fact I am hanging out with atheletes Grin

Glad your ds is beginning to get back into the swing of things Jackster. I might try shred and shred for my next workout. A gym near me is supposed to be opening up with similar classes to yours and I have bought a cheap bundle. Glad it still counts as beachbodying!

Enjoy Gamma Purple, can't decide whether to workout this eve or have a rest and an early morning pre work one tomorrow hmm decisions!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, esp sarahlou.
