Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Shaun T is trying to kill me again...... I've swapped my workouts over a bit for the last week, I won't have time tomorrow so I've just done tomorrow's workout and I'm having my rest day tomorrow - it was tough as we went out for a curry last night and I can still feel it sloshing around!

I've signed up for The Body Coach after looking at it for a few weeks, I'm actually really looking forward to being able to eat more and work out less, I think I'm a bit too much the other way at the moment - plus the meals look lovely :) I get my plan through in 10 days, and it looks like it would fit in perfectly with Max:30.

Sarahlouboo · 16/08/2015 14:42

Oh I am glad lots of Max 30 going on! Did Sweat Intervals today and found it really hard going. Maxed out at 8 minutes and really struggled from 20-25 mins before picking up again at the end. Holy moly! Not sure where the intervals were exactlu! ShockShock Well done Purple, that is a great achievement and well done Jackster for holiday workouts. You got me thinking about loading some Shaun T up to iPad. I was going to just use the gym/swim/do classes. Looking forward to hearing about Body Coach Eleanor - was planning on signing up for that after holidays.

spookyskeleton · 16/08/2015 20:06

Eleanor looking forward to your updates on the body coach. My friend is doing it - she has completed cycle 1 and you could see the difference! Think she has come a bit unstuck at the mo but haven't spoken to her for a while. Wish I could afford it but cannot justify the £££ at the moment.

So I watched cardio challenge max 30 as you were all talking about it. OMG!!! Some of the exercises looked impossible...wtf are suicide burpees??? I might try it but doing the modifier version - even that looks hard. You all must be SO much fitter than me Blush

Purpleraindeer · 17/08/2015 07:43

Spooky it is much worse to watch it than just do it! Give it a go. I bet you'll surprise yourself. Suicide burpees (as far as I can work out) are burpees where you run from side to side then do a burpee.
I bet you'll feel brilliant about yourself when you've done it! Smile

Boobz · 17/08/2015 13:46

Sorry for radio silence - was in Sienna with friends for the past 5 days. Took my P90X weights but they didn't have a DVD player so did Insanity instead. Felt proper rubbish after last chemo though so took 2 rest days - grrr.

Monday - weigh in day!

#1 (Mon 3rd Aug) 59.5kg
#2 (Mon 10 Aug) 58.2kg (1.3kg down week on week)
#3 (Mon 17 Aug) 57.5kg (0.7kg down week on week, and 2kg down in total)

Just done P90X Legs and Back and Ab Ripper X - Barry's Bootcamp at 7:10am tomorrow followed by chemo at 10am. Am then in the UK for 3 whole weeks (DH and kids joining me on Friday for a week by the seaside - any tips for Camber Sands those that have been before?)

Well done all for keeping on keeping on - sorry for not commenting on everyone - am so behind with packing etc!

Tanaqui · 17/08/2015 13:48

Camber can be windy so take a windbreak- and a kite! Sandy so good for buckets and spades.

spookyskeleton · 17/08/2015 20:55

So I wandered into the wrong Insanity Max 30 Confused. I wanted to try a cardio one but picked tabata strength (the title should really have given it away Grin). My arms are hurting already from all those different push ups (and I was modifying!!!) I fear I won't be able to lift them in the morning Wink

I have said it before and I will say it again - you lot are all super fit on here.

Any suggestions for a good cardio one to try tomorrow?

Sarahlouboo · 18/08/2015 07:59

Oo I did Tabata Strength yesterday Spooky! Who knew there were so many different varieties of push up torture?! It is to push ups what Gamma speed 3.0 is to burpees! Are you under the illusion that we all breeze through these work outs because I certainly don't! I maxed out at 7 minutes and had to keep having the odd breather. I feel like a beginner all over again compared to T25 where I could pretty much do the full workout with only the odd modification but I think that is good, a new challenge and all that. I'll have a look at the schedule and tell you which cardio I have done...

Sarahlouboo · 18/08/2015 08:02

Cardio challenge is the month 1 cardio workout Spooky. Good luck. It is our anniversary today so I am giving myself the day off. Will need to be back on it tomorrow following boozy lunch. Happy Tuesday everyone. Good luck with the chemo Boobz.

Purpleraindeer · 18/08/2015 08:19

Oops spooky - tabata strength is hard! Hope you enjoyed the diamond jumps Smile. I'd do cardio challenge. I also like tabata power but you might want to give your arms a rest first - it is not as hard as tabata strength. I think sweat intervals is hard. I always dreaded that one.

I'm supposed to be doing Friday fight 1 tonight. Eek. It's hard. I was supposed to do it last night but I had some sort of delayed hangover after Sunday so I was forced to sit on the sofa with macaroni cheese and chocolate and feel sorry for myself instead Blush

Purpleraindeer · 18/08/2015 09:06

Happy anniversary Sarah Flowers

And spooky - the thing that drives me is that I always assume everyone is fitter than me. I still find max30 work outs super hard - much harder than t25 (even gamma). I was maxing out before 15mins for all of them when I started and even 4mths later the only ones I can get the whole way through are cardio challenge and sweat intervals.

EdmondDantes · 19/08/2015 14:33

Purple - Are you still doing Max30? How do you find the M2 fitness test. I have done it twice and it blows me away. When you were/are doing Max Cardio and Sweat interval and making it through to the end, are you going at the same speed as the video from the start or your max pace?

How does Max30 compare ot T25. It appears you need equipment for T25. I am not sure my wife will appreciate more fitness equipment in the house.

Sarah - Happy anniversary. You need incentives to keep you going rather than having no fun. SO i hope you enjoyed yourself.

Sarahlouboo · 19/08/2015 17:47

How did Friday night fight go Purple?

Thanks both for the anniversary wishes. Had a lovely lunch with DH. Back on it today with Max 30 Cardio Challenge. Wow! It's hard and I don't like it but I know it's good for me! Did you do it Spooky? I maxed out at 7 minutes. Need to make a note of the seconds as well so I can feel like I am making progress!

Ed - max 30 is a lot tougher than t25 imo. I really like t25 though and you only need dumbbells and then not for all of them.

Hope the rest of the gang are all ok?

spookyskeleton · 19/08/2015 17:55

sarah glad you had a good anniversary Smile

Didn't do cardio challenge...doing it in about 10 minutes when I can be bothered turfing the boys off the television Wink

Not sure about this maxing out business as am sure I will be ok all the way through if I modify everything but guess that isn't the idea Confused

Sarahlouboo · 20/08/2015 18:40

Hope you enjoyed cardio Spooky. I wonder if you are all experiencing problems with password changes etc., very quiet on here!

Just done Tabata power. Didn't max out until 16 minutes mainly due to the fact that I cannot do the tricep push-ups so I have to modify on that bit. Glad that's over with. I finding max 30 very tough but weirdly addictive!

yumyumpoppycat · 20/08/2015 18:54

Boobz hope you have a lovely hol!!

Purple, no you are awesome and v fit Grin

Eleanor v excited you are trying body coach - I am v tempted but maybe after xmas.

Sarah well done on logging your max outs ... it is hard!!

Spooky you could just do it without maxing out then crank it up a notch? I went too hell for leather at first.

Ed T25 is a lot calmer and less high impact than insanity max 30 it also comes with a resistance band so in theory you wont need weights but the bands are pretty hard to use tbh, otherwise you just need 1 set of dumbells...its really more cardio focus and using your body through pushups etc. I think it would only be worth getting if you are struggling with IM30 day after day and want to alternate with an easier workout.

Talking of resistance bands I have started on slim in 6 which I picked up for £15,... I quite like the fact the trainer emphasises using the resistance bands as it feels a rip off with T25 that most of the crew are using weights. She suggests starting with the bands then moving to weights when it gets too hard. Dp has these bands so I went with a 5lb one and might see if I can work up through the bands a bit.

I am a bit confused by slim in 6 as it seems like you make up your own schedule Confused I did the beginner workout on mon which was 25 min and fairly easy but I did the medium stage workout this am before work and it lasts almost an hour Shock I was hating it at first as a bit rosemary connoly style with lots of dull knee crunching lunges and squats, but the workout has sep sections: 1st cardio/legs, then arms weights/resistance bands then mat work pushups and crunches etc, then yoga and stretching and by the end of it I was sweating and felt well worked out - it also passed fairly quickly.

The nutrition guide in slim in 6 is quite interesting too - she even gives an extreme one off 6 day diet along the lines of the ones bodybuilders use before a photo-shoot/ show. They list the amount of calorie deficit you would need to achieve a certain weight-loss - at the most extreme it says a deficit of 1600 Shock will achieve 1/2 pound a day loss 450 cal deficit is 1/8 a pound. I think the assumption is that people will be working out a lot to achieve the 1600 cal deficit and consume only around 1000 cals.

I have probably sent everyone to sleep now....sorry!!

I also went to pilates this week and I sucked Blush at least I was ok with planks Wink

Purpleraindeer · 20/08/2015 19:48

Helloooo!
I thought I'd never get back to chat to you all - the whole password change thing went all wrong for me so took ages to sort out.

Have been busy on the work outs tho. Did Friday fight and maxed at 24mins so was super pleased with that. Also did ripd up which turns out to be a lot harder with heavier weights (my poor arms!) and then max out cardio (m2 max30 cardio work out) tonight. Ed - you asked how I found it - it is hard. I maxed at 19mins and found the last circuit especially very hard as I was tired. I try to keep up or go faster than the crew and then when I can do that and complete it I then go hell for leather to see if I can max out quicker.

Poppy - you make me smile with your compulsive exercise DVD buying. You should start doing online reviews!

Sarah - I know what you mean re max30 being addictive - I love it because it really challenges me.

I have realised I'm a lot fitter than I've ever been as I was in a hurry yesterday and walked super fast up all the escalators out of bond st tube station and wasn't even out of breath! The last time I did that I nearly had a heart attack and my legs were on fire!

spookyskeleton · 20/08/2015 20:14

Hey everyone Smile

I have been a bit wary logging back in as I was on 'the list' which has made me nervous Sad but I missed you all and the chatter!

So I did cardio challenge...maxed out at about 6 minutes Blush and then did a mix of non-modified and modified moves for the rest. I did enjoy it but it was HARD!! How you lot keep going till 20 minutes plus is beyond me! Reverted to my comfort zone and did Ript Up tonight.

Sarahlouboo · 20/08/2015 20:28

Hi Spooky - how can you find out if you were on the list?

spookyskeleton · 20/08/2015 20:35

I got an email from MNHQ yesterday to tell me. If you haven't got an email, assume you weren't.

Sarahlouboo · 20/08/2015 20:39

Oh how worrying for you, hope you all sorted now Hmm. I really need to improve my password security! Anyway, glad you had a go at Max 30, it is hard, T25 is hardly a walk in the park either!

Sarahlouboo · 20/08/2015 20:42

Purple good NSV, you sound so fit!

Poppy, you didn't send me to sleep, I was really interested in the calorie deficit stuff. No wonder I can't lose weight lol!

spookyskeleton · 20/08/2015 21:16

yumyum just had a look at a Slim in 6 video. Now that is proper 80's retro aerobics Grin

EdmondDantes · 20/08/2015 21:37

Yumyum - Thanks for the T25 response

Spooky - Congratulations. Now for a suitably cheesy motivational quote. " No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch" . (See unbound on Facebook mobile for more cheesy quotes)

Purple. I did M2 Cardio tonight and got to 13.15. I bow down to your greatness. I am now harassing Shaun T to get you on the DVD as you beat everybody by at least 4 mins. Did you move from 1 program onto Max 30 or just start on Max 30. I needed to do some cardio post physio on a knee ligament injury so once I had full mobility back I dived into the hardest program I could find to get me where I wanted as qucikly as possible Looking back in M1 was max out between 7-9mins so very pleased with the progress to be hitting 13+ for M2 cardio. I struggle with a few moves like Hop hop runner ( my trainers seem to stick and I dont seem to hop hop as fast them) , kick back and floor switch kicks ( i hate these) - what about you?

I dont know about everyone but for weight loss I think visually in terms of bags of sugar. I have lost 4 kgs since May. ( However more fat than that)> Therefore that is 8 bags of sugar (fat) that I was humping around. How do you think of your weight loss. Is is clothes fitting better? Sugar bags?

Carry on the good work everyone

EdmondDantes · 20/08/2015 21:39

Oh i forgot to say I came across this website below which seems to do a good review of each workout for quite a few workouts
