Boobz hope you have a lovely hol!!
Purple, no you are awesome and v fit
Eleanor v excited you are trying body coach - I am v tempted but maybe after xmas.
Sarah well done on logging your max outs ... it is hard!!
Spooky you could just do it without maxing out then crank it up a notch? I went too hell for leather at first.
Ed T25 is a lot calmer and less high impact than insanity max 30 it also comes with a resistance band so in theory you wont need weights but the bands are pretty hard to use tbh, otherwise you just need 1 set of dumbells...its really more cardio focus and using your body through pushups etc. I think it would only be worth getting if you are struggling with IM30 day after day and want to alternate with an easier workout.
Talking of resistance bands I have started on slim in 6 which I picked up for £15,... I quite like the fact the trainer emphasises using the resistance bands as it feels a rip off with T25 that most of the crew are using weights. She suggests starting with the bands then moving to weights when it gets too hard. Dp has these bands so I went with a 5lb one and might see if I can work up through the bands a bit.
I am a bit confused by slim in 6 as it seems like you make up your own schedule
I did the beginner workout on mon which was 25 min and fairly easy but I did the medium stage workout this am before work and it lasts almost an hour
I was hating it at first as a bit rosemary connoly style with lots of dull knee crunching lunges and squats, but the workout has sep sections: 1st cardio/legs, then arms weights/resistance bands then mat work pushups and crunches etc, then yoga and stretching and by the end of it I was sweating and felt well worked out - it also passed fairly quickly.
The nutrition guide in slim in 6 is quite interesting too - she even gives an extreme one off 6 day diet along the lines of the ones bodybuilders use before a photo-shoot/ show. They list the amount of calorie deficit you would need to achieve a certain weight-loss - at the most extreme it says a deficit of 1600
will achieve 1/2 pound a day loss 450 cal deficit is 1/8 a pound. I think the assumption is that people will be working out a lot to achieve the 1600 cal deficit and consume only around 1000 cals.
I have probably sent everyone to sleep now....sorry!!
I also went to pilates this week and I sucked
at least I was ok with planks
