Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Hi fives Purple and sockballs!

Thanks Spooky!

Its true actually purple it was lucky really, esp as dc were nearby but didn't really get hurt. It was a pretty spectacular you've been framed type fall the ladder literally shot out from under me but my head hit a basket rather than the windowsill etc, and my leg got caught in the closing ladder and has cut/ swollen a bit but is ok! I was patting my head expecting it to be bleeding Blush Really random bits of me are slightly sore/bruised though!

EleanorAbernathy · 22/07/2015 00:22

Hellooooo! I have FINISHED week 4 of Insanity - a day late as it was my birthday at the weekend so I treated myself to an extra recovery day so I could drink more gin and not suffer as much

I was working late tonight so have just done Core Cardio and Balance for the first time - I was expecting something a bit like Cardio Recovery, as it's meant to be, ummm.... RECOVERY week and all that - but OUCH!!! Got quite a sweat going too despite trying to slow it down! Enjoyed it though. Grin

poppy that sounds really painful, hope your bruises heal quickly.

Everyone else, I am following with interest as I still haven't decided what to try after Insanity if the second month doesn't kill me!

Jacksterbear · 22/07/2015 11:01

Ooh it's suddenly got busy again! Been lurking and exercising but not had much time to post. Congrats Eleanor! Star Flowers poppy ouch! Hope you're ok! Waves and high-fives to all! I have T25 back after having lent to a friend for a few weeks so enjoying that this week. xx

Hi jackster. We're both feeling the t25 love at the moment! I did beta core cardio tonight. That was harder than I remembered. My legs are tired now. Might be the impact of doing workouts on consecutive days. When I was on hols i did a lot more running and that is no preparation for endless Shaun t squats and burpees!
Well done Eleanor!! Good luck with month 2. Those work outs are hard and loooooong!

Purpleraindeer · 24/07/2015 07:25

Did t25 alpha ab work out last night. Was nice to do again as wasn't easy but felt totally manageable. My 2yo found it hilarious to watch too. Am really sore today tho - have got out of the habit of t25 3 days in a row! Rest day today. Yay.

Sarahlouboo · 24/07/2015 09:24

High fives all around! Hope you re feeling better Poppy?

Purple - I did T25 core cardio after you mentioned it as I couldn't remember it. Yowsers, it is hard! Those speed knees always get me! But it was good. Had a nice run the day before. Feel thoroughly back in the swing of things having worked out back to back for 4 days. Going to try and fit another t25 in tonight then take a rest day tomorrow.

Jacksterbear · 24/07/2015 14:44

Purple I did t25 alpha abs intervals yesterday too. I find it harder than it looks like it should be! Am v conscious that poor form with ab stuff is likely to cause one's stomach to bulge out further rather than flatten it, and find it hard to find the right balance between pushing myself as hard as I can and maintaining good form.

Sarah well done on beta core cardio. I find it quite hard but satisfying, feels like a good all-round workout!

Slight hangover + bruised swollen knee from bashing it on edge of DD's bed + 2 x bickering whiney DC = probably no workout today!

Happy weekend everyone Smile

Glad you are all going old-skool with T25 Grin I am also concentrating on just T25 for the next 5 weeks rather than adding combat into the mix - I absolutely love combat but just feel it is not working me very hard and therefore taking up time that I could be going hardcore with Shaun T (iyswim). So T25 4-5 times a week until my holiday starting today with Speed 1.0 (breaking myself in gently Wink)

Have slipped off my 5:2 diet a little this week as we have had things on. However I am currently sat here in a skirt that fits comfortably that I couldn't even do up 5 weeks ago so can see the results which is motivating me to get back on it again (after a BBQ tonight Grin).

boobz hope you are OK?

Purpleraindeer · 25/07/2015 14:33

Spooky - enjoy t25. I remembered it as a lot easier than it was somehow. Had a bit of a shock! Was going to go for a run today but then fancied something more time efficient and did max30 tabata strength. Oh my goodness - there were a lot of push ups. I had forgotten. I guess it's like labour - your body forgets the pain as otherwise you'll never do it again!! Shock

Boobz - we've not heard from you in a while. Hope you're ok?

And jackster - you've given me the fear re poor ab form making my tummy stick out. I thought that was an urban myth? Oh dear.

And finally - who was doing piyo? Which is your fave? I'm looking for one which is good for strength.

Have a good day all. Sun is out here thank goodness. It rained for 12hrs solidly yesterday. Depressing.

Boobz · 25/07/2015 22:47

Hi all! Do people think I've died if I go quiet for a while? I do hope not.

So France was amazing but as predicted I ate my own body weight in cheese and charcuterie so that hasn't helped my 50kg by Aug deadline. Oops. I did manage to do 3 Insanity work outs during that week, and then 2 Barry work outs whilst I was in London for chemo, so not ALL bad. However I have definitely suffered from the new chemo regime which I started this week (and is now weekly - ugh!) which includes bone aches and fatigue rather than nausea and mouth ulcers from the first lot. So have been utterly shit at doing any work outs since having the chemo on Monday, but to be fair I then had client meetings on Tues and Weds in London and Geneva, and then was on a hen night last night so it's all just been a busy week. Back on the Easyjet express again tomorrow for chemo on Monday, but I have a 6am Barry's class booked pre chemo so am hoping that kick starts me again!

Even though I am defo putting on a bit of weight I don't look that different and still have muscle definition. I put most of my weight on in my legs, but because it is about 1000 degrees here in Rome I am not wearing trousers, only summer dresses, and obviously they don't really show up the weight gain as much as wearing jeans through winter would. So as long as I get rid of it again by October, I should be fine (lots of post rationalising in my head going on).

Have read everyone's bulletins and noted progress - will hopefully comment more next week when it's a bit less hectic!

BRING IT

EleanorAbernathy · 25/07/2015 23:40

Evening, it's fitness central in our house at the moment! DP has just got a bike for getting to work and back, and I've treated myself to a treadmill - so yesterday was spent building them (DP had to take the wheels off the bike to get it home in the car - so I did the treadmill when he was putting it back together!)

I fit in Core Cardio and Balance at some point then gave the treadmill a proper go - it's great, I miss my sprint intervals at the gym since I cancelled my membership! I've been doing 2 mins at 12km/h then 1 min at 9km/h.

Then we got pizza to celebrate our respective fitness equipment building successes, stuffed crust too..... Blush

So today has been all about burning off the pizza! Grin

DP took his bike out to time his work route, then we both went on a 7.6 mile walk. After the walk I did Core Cardio and Balance (I was pushing it more than you're meant to!) whilst DP had a go on the treadmill - then I got on the treadmill for 15 minutes of sprint intervals. I think we avenged the pizza!

I had a slight hairy moment when one of the cats didn't quite realise that the treadmill was moving and decided to walk across it in front of me when I was doing 12km/h. I had to use all my Insanity training to do a hurdle jump over the cat that was shooting under my legs sideways at speed and managed not to fall off - the cat wasn't so lucky and looked a bit confused as to why he'd suddenly ended up in a different part of the room - don't think he'll be doing that again! Grin

yumyumpoppycat · 26/07/2015 09:04

Eleanor - your poor cat, but who would have thought insanity jumping training would be being useful in everyday life Grin

Boobz lovely to hear from you - I cant believe you did 3 insanity sessions while on holiday and undergoing chemo!! I am v intrigued by Barrys Bootcamp esp as a londoner (well zone 3 ;) .

{Whispers} did anyone else blanch slightly at the idea of Boobz monitoring oujr progress, I def need to step it up as class slacker at the mo Shock {promptly does fave ab kettlebell work out}

I too am excited about us all going a bit t25 and going to fit some t25 in this week!

Been reading a £1 shape up book from the works which sort of confirms that I need to lose weight before taking it up to the next level {hides insanity max 30}

Have a lovely weekend all xx

Jacksterbear · 26/07/2015 18:17

Evening all. Another crappy rainy (& slightly hungover Blush) day here! But I have managed Speed 1.0 which means I have completed all 5 T25 alpha workouts (not including the stretch one) this week!

Eleanor great work re the exercise and that cat story made me Grin! Mmmmh. Stuffed crust pizza...

Purple I am one of the PiYo-ers. Took me a while to get into but now I like it. My faves are Strength Intervals, and Sculpt; also like the core and legs ones on the second disc. The Define ones on the first disc are a bit slow and dull, but otherwise they are all pretty decent workouts.

spooky and poppy good to have some company on the reacquaintance-with-T25 front!

And Boobz very glad you are still with us Grin and keeping tabs on us all to keep us accountable! I did wonder if the new chemo regime was hitting you hard and causing your absence. Sounds like you are doing amazingly though. Good luck tomorrow. Flowers

spookyskeleton · 26/07/2015 20:10

jackster I also did speed 1.0 today - I really enjoyed it Smile also did Stretch which is my weekly treat as I love it!

I really did not enjoy Piyo Confused I might try it again after my holiday but at the moment I feel they are just taking up precious T25 time.

boobz glad you had a good holiday... Mmm cheese, my favorite food!! Sorry this chemo is hitting you a bit harder Sad

Eleanor love the image of your cat skidding along the treadmill Grin

EleanorAbernathy · 28/07/2015 18:32

When I was doing month 1 of Insanity I thought Shaun T was nice and encouraging - how wrong was I!

I've just done my second of the longer month 2 workouts and am sitting hear dripping with sweat and trembling like a kitten, clutching my protein shake for dear life -and have realised that he is actually an evil sadist who is obviously trying to kill me.

Although on the bright side, my triceps now hurt enough to distract me from the sore legs yesterday's workout gave me! Is it rest day time yet....?

EleanorAbernathy · 28/07/2015 18:33

here not hear - that was so hard I can't even spell now!

EdmondDantes · 28/07/2015 18:49

Hello Everyone.

Thought I would come and join you. It seems that you all do hybrids and I thought I could learn some stuff from you.

Currently working through BB Max30. Starting the second month. I still get blown away but certainly after some of the participants. Previously done Insanity ( loved and hated in equal measures) and would like to have done PX90 but pull up bar does not work in my house and really wanted to do the do that component.

Would love to over time know more about PIYO, simply as most guys are not the most flexible and thought it might be useful and will use it once I start back at the gym properly.

Do people use their BB coach at all?
Do people find the BB DVD shit quality and Scratch and nump easily?
Anyone used Booya fitness website?

(Apologies I have not read all the previous history so just a general congratulations to everyone)

Ed

Purpleraindeer · 28/07/2015 21:09

Eleanor- well done you for getting stuck in to month 2. I've done one of those work outs and I couldn't believe how looooong it was. I had the same experience with max 30 - after the first workout I had to lie on the floor for 5mins! It did get (marginally) easier....that rest day will be well earned when it comes.

Welcome ed. I've never used the beach body coach. I get all my motivation from this thread Grin how are you enjoying max30? Am not really doing a hybrid - I just randomly do work outs I fancy. Did t25 tbc tonight. I rocked the burpees no problem but yet again crashed out on my nemesis the oblique knee push ups. I HATE them!! Am going to try doing gamma speed 3.0 tomorrow. Yay!

spookyskeleton · 28/07/2015 21:50

Ed welcome Smile again, I haven't used the BB coach. I am just winging it as I go along - am currently doing a hybrid of all T25 workouts (apart from Gamma Speed 3.0 which is just evil Grin).

I did try Piyo but was quite disappointed in it - not my cup of tea at all.

purple am dreading my first TBC as I haven't done it for a few months but remember it was hideous... Am wondering if it might not be as bad as I remember??

Did Upper Focus yesterday, day off today and either a run or Abs Intervals tomorrow.

EdmondDantes · 28/07/2015 22:06

I have never used the BB coach. I am not sure what they do. ( Apart form a pyramid scheme of selling)

Spooky - Was Piyo too soft? Not hard enough for you?

Max 30 - I love. It does everything i want it to do in 30 mins. It has massively increased my ability to do WOD style workout when i get to the gym (Lunges, burpees chin up etc) as I do it 3-5 times a week at home where previously i would go the gym 2-3 and do either a weights or cardio session.

Does everyone on here just do the exercise and not worry about diet? Since seeing an article that my so called healthy activia yougurt had more sugar than 1 1/4 dunkin donuts I have paid more attention to sugar levels in all food and had better results (Apologies if sounds like a gym bore)

Sarahlouboo · 29/07/2015 07:18

Hi everyone and welcome Edmond! Well done on starting month 2 of insanity Eleanor! Sounds scary Shock but bet you feel amazing (or will do soon). I have been feeling a bit bleugh, done a couple of different T25s, none of them are any easier for going back to but I modify a lot less than I did to begin with. Did rip't circuit last night. But...v.excited as think my max 30 will arrive today! Need a different challenge and something to perk me up (or finish me off?!)

Sarahlouboo · 29/07/2015 07:19

P.s. Spooky if you can do tbc you can do gamma 3.0 Wink and good luck Purple!

spookyskeleton · 29/07/2015 07:20

No piyo wasn't too soft for me (I am not that hardcore or fit so I still modify with T25 GrinBlush). I love yoga do thought I would like it but there is hardly any yoga in it. Have tried Pilate's a few times and never really enjoyed it and piyo is just like Pilate's. It does have difficult moves in it though so maybe worth a try?

I am currently combining my exercise with 5:2 diet and it seems to be working for me. I am a total sugar addict which makes, eating healthily difficult Wink

spookyskeleton · 29/07/2015 07:21

Sarah no no no! Speed 3.0 contains every form of burpees known to man and I cannot do burpees Grin

EleanorAbernathy · 29/07/2015 10:33

eek Spooky burpees are the bane of my life too, there were SIDEWAYS ones in Monday's Insanity Shock

Hi Ed - I'm just doing Insanity at the moment not a hybrid. I don't use a coach, that's more of a US thug I think, I've got a friend in Ohio who does it though, she's added me to her Facebook group. I think it's basically a pyramid selling type thing, my friend posts lots of motivational quotes, and tries to sell the programs and get people to buy Shakeology.
I thought I'd be quite good at selling it if it was more of a UK thing, then I read my last post back! Grin

My friend also gets to try the new programs before general release - the latest is another Shaun T one called Cize, where he teaches you dance routines, it looks fun.

I'm loosely following the principals of the diet, several smaller meals, high protein, low carb and lots of green veg - I have so far lost 5lb and 1.5" off my waist. :)

I don't hurt quite as much as I thought I would today, so on with month 3 later - I may be less enthusiastic after mind!
