Hi all, I've just realised I maxed out our thread by posting the 1000th post earlier so I thought I should start a new one!

Hoping you all find me here...

Hey guys.

I'm still Grining at "I find Insanity a bit slow" "Then you aren't doing it right". I do know what you mean, though, Purple, about finding it a bit... inefficient, time-wise. I have half-thought about skipping the stretch section but tbh am so bloody relieved when it arrives that I just enjoy it!

spooky well done on keeping up the fast days - keep going! I don't think I could cope with so few calories (I get so irritable on 1200 let alone 500!) however, can see that it would make it more bearable not doing it more than one day in a row.

Sarah new bikinis sound exciting. Good motivation!

Have been doing quite a lot of PiYo recently and really getting into it. I'm finding it's actually getting harder the better I get at it - in a good way, as in now I am getting more flexible and have improved balance, etc, I have a better range of motion and can hold the positions better, so feel the benefit more.

Hi to everyone else. xx

Spooky - that fast day must be hard! Well done for having that sort of will power.
And poppy - staying up until 4am making biscuits??! Omg.
Have been doing some short runs over the last few days and found total body circuit online so did that today. I managed all of the press ups which amazed me!
Hope you're all well

HawkEyeTheNoo · 14/07/2015 22:56

So.... We bought T25... Due to a really shitty thing happening to me at work resulting in me going off sick, DP started it last Monday without me, I started it yesterday on my own ( admittedly in pants and a jammy top and slippers.. Not sure how seriously I was taking it but hadn't eaten more than a massive bag of peanuts since Saturday - honestly I was concerned I would faint - erm) well I managed a whole five and a half minutes before quitting!! I'm clearly a fucking fud and no way am I getting a beach body for October!! No wonder DP isn't dtd when he's face d with a squishy squidhy toad!! Grr so pissed off (not enough to put the DVD on tho) I've started the second bottle of wine!

yumyumpoppycat · 15/07/2015 16:07

Hi Hawkeye maybe give it another try in your trainers Grin Don't write it off though and leave it to your dp, try again when your feeling more in the zone.

I fancy doing piyo a bit more Jackster, great that you are feeling more flexible.

Are you having a break from insanity max30 too purple, it is pretty hardcore day in day out isnt it.

Sarah well done on getting back to mfp.

Sarahlouboo · 15/07/2015 19:18

Thanks Yumyum, just waiting for the voices in my head to simmer down - why can't I have some chocolate, omg I have nearly eaten all my calories, I'm hungry, wah, etc etc!

Hawkeye, oh heck hope the next attempt goes better! Report back! Maybe start with Speed 1.0? That's nice gentle-ish intro.

Purple - well done on the push-ups! And well done Jackster on the increased flexibility. Goes to show that the same workout can get progressively more difficult the fitter you get - goddamnit!

Hi spooky and anyone lurking!

Did gamma extreme circuit today. Satisfyingly sweaty but it was a chore today. But it's done!

EleanorAbernathy · 15/07/2015 23:37

Does anyone else think Insanity Cardio Recovery is REALLY BORING?!
I swapped my days around a bit this week and did it yesterday as I was really knackered after a night shift and couldn't face jumping up and down, and was really bored. I HATE squat holds. And the only interesting bits were when DP decided he wanted to walk past every time I was doing a balancy thing and make me fall over.

I must admit it does make me feel well and truly stretched though! Back on it today and did Plyometric Cardio, followed by 3 hours of tidying up the jungle of a garden outside so I'm properly worked out today! Grin

I think I can sort of see the beginnings of abs under the flab if I twist the right way, and I've lost another pound - 4 left to go!

HawkEye - eat some food, put some trainers on and try again? Not straight after the wine though, that would probably make me puke! I'm having a gin and tonic (or two) tonight ;)

Sarahlouboo · 17/07/2015 06:58

Hi Eleanor, can't really comment as I have never done Cardio recovery, I remember DH saying it was a bit like yoga (he has never done yoga to my knowledge so he might be way off!)? I find yoga deadly boring, I like to be jumping around or lifting heavy stuff but I wish I could get into it as its meant to be so good for you. What's Piyo like?

I did the dreaded T25 Total Body Circuit yesterday. It's still nasty! Think I am gonna chuck that in the mix a couple of times a week with gamma until I get Max 30 as something so horrid must be good for you! Bikinis arrived and my tummy area needs work. My arms and bum look a lot better but I can't help feeling that at least I was in proportion before (chubby all over!) and now my tummy sticks out - literally! I did try them on after a massive lunch though! On the plus side I have lost 3lbs but that must have been water weight (but it all counts!) Onwards and upwards.

yumyumpoppycat · 17/07/2015 11:17

Eleanor - I wont advise as I would be tempted to just skip it!

Sarahlouboo try going wheat free just before your hol and then while on hol, that makes a mega difference for my tum - save the carby stuff for the end of your hol when you have a tan ;) Also there is some damage limitation doing that too.

I am going to try and eat healthily and not graze over the hols as no holiday plans or big events coming up so might as well concentrate on kwalatee time with kids, house redecorating and work. People have been commenting that I have lost weight so feeling validated enough to put it on hold ;) tbh I think people were commenting on weightloss because I had my hair cut Confused

Did a barre workout today and have a Cathy Friedich low impact dvd (which looks pretty hardcore) to get started on tomorrow (she was mentioned in max 30 and p90x3 reviews). Keeping it low impact and being a laser and not exercising has more or less sorted knees other than on loft staircase. Hopefully I will reintroduce insanity max 30 in a few weeks.

yumyumpoppycat · 17/07/2015 11:22

Piyo is reasonably challenging there were a few short workouts I really liked, you might find a couple of the workouts too boring long though sarah.

spookyskeleton · 17/07/2015 13:11

Hi everyone

I always find that my stomach looks flatter on holiday as I tend not to eat wheat whilst I am away (there is no wheat in a big fry-up Grin and I live off meat and salad) I should really go wheat-free at home as I know it makes a difference...

Eleanor I haven't done any insanity workouts as I am not hard-core enough for those but I do like the sound of the cardio recovery one as I love yoga and stretching (I absolutely love the T25 Stretch DVD) - I am going to check it out on my Russian FB site tonight and see what it looks like.

Having said that, I don't like Piyo even though I thought I would really enjoy it - not enough yoga in it (in fact there is hardly any yoga in it!)

I am slowly ploughing through my Combat/T25 hybrid - did Speed 2.0 yesterday and am doing Dynamic Core tonight. On another fast day so trying (unsuccessfully) to keep myself busy at work Hmm...holiday is 6 weeks today.

Yumyum hope your knees stay pain-free Smile

Purpleraindeer · 20/07/2015 12:26

Argh! Wrote a long post this am and somehow my phone has eaten it. Never mind. Summary is:

  • am back from holidaySad
  • will restart max30 this week Grin
  • despite eating nonstop I seem to be the same weight and fitness level as when I went away as I did loads of running on hols. I love running at the moment!

Hope you're all well.

Sarahlouboo · 20/07/2015 15:39

Hello everyone and thanks for the advice re wheat! Anything is worth a try! I did try on my bikinis before stuffing my face the following day and looked much better!

Welcome back Purple as well done on staying the same! I like your news bulletin style of reporting back so in the same vein

  • I did very well last week an lost 4 lbs
  • I drank loads at the weekend and didn't exercise (unless you count a bit of swimming with DS, I did lengths while he queued for the inflatable!)
  • I have eaten my own body weight in custard creams today
  • I have probably undone all my good work Grin
Sarahlouboo · 20/07/2015 19:18

Gamma speed 3.0 done to atone for my sins. Not as bad as I remembered but that's not to say it was easy peasy either!

YouBastardSockBalls · 20/07/2015 19:21

Hello all!

Starting T25 in approx 10 mins. Can't be fucked at all but DH says that once I get going I'll look forward to it. So I'm giving it a week.

I'm a size 10 but a very wobbly one. Don't know what I weigh. Only that it's more than I used to....!

Wish me luck!

spookyskeleton · 21/07/2015 07:30

sockballs how did it go?

Love the summary style so am going to copy it too Grin
-did combat yesterday which was great

  • running tonight (hopefully)
  • fasting today Sad

Sarah how can you even do speed 3.0?? Still have nightmares about 'burpee hell' Grin

purple welcome back!

Purpleraindeer · 21/07/2015 07:46

Hope you enjoyed your first t25 sock balls. It's definitely addictive, especially when you start to see results.

Am now so intrigued by gamma speed 3.0 I've found it on vk (thanks fullsteam wherever you are!) and am going to try it tonight! Exciting! Grin

Enjoy your run spooky. It's lovely weather here so I bet you'll have a good one. Good effort doing it on a fast day too.

Sarahlouboo · 21/07/2015 13:23

How did it go sockballs?

Spooky, good luck with fast day, bet you are shrinking before your own eyes! And running too! Good effort!

Purple - great, let us know what you think of the burpee marathon madness that is gamma 3.0! Spooky, I think you should do it again, I bet you will find it easier than before. Maybe not on a fast day though Shock

I really fancy a run today but I have to get turned around sharpish tonight as I am going out for tea so I think t25 or even a bit of JM 30 day shred for old times sake.

YouBastardSockBalls · 21/07/2015 15:15

I didn't do it. Didn't get children to bed till 8 then it was 9 before everything was done.

I'll do it tonight though!!

spookyskeleton · 21/07/2015 16:04

sockballs I totally understand - even though it is only 25 minutes, I often struggle to fit that in with all the activities the kids do Confused

Sarahlouboo · 21/07/2015 19:30

Hope you get a chance tonight sockballs. Some nights it just isn't going to happen!

So it's quiet on here at the moment! Hope everyone is ok. I did Gamma Rip't tonight. Still can't do arm jack press ups! Catch you all tomorrow.

yumyumpoppycat · 21/07/2015 20:07

Sarah I haven't posted as feel like I am bringing the thread down with my excuses but actually we all go through phases months like this, so here we go ...I fell of a ladder yesterday and have bumps and bruises all over the place (this is actually true, but i prob could exercise!) Was supposed to go to pilates this eve but got too caught up with work. Tomorrow I am on it!!

Hope your kids play ball this eve sockballs!

Purpleraindeer · 21/07/2015 20:50

I can't do jack press ups properly either Sarah! Did gamma speed as promised. Woweee that is a good ab work out! Couldn't keep up on all of the burpee things but enjoyed it. My resolve was sorely tested when ds woke up at the 20mins mark. After sorting him out it was tough to get motivated to do the last 5mins but I did. I remembered I needed to report back here and didn't want to admit to you lot that id wimped out Grin

Will try to do something else tomorrow night too but it is difficult to motivate myself to do it when I know ds will interrupt again!! Baby jet lag is annoying!!

Have a good eve all.

Purpleraindeer · 21/07/2015 20:51

Oh no poppy! Hope you're ok. Sounds like you were lucky to get away with just bruises. Tomorrow is another day.....

YouBastardSockBalls · 21/07/2015 20:59

Please tell me it gets more enjoyable....!

spookyskeleton · 21/07/2015 21:32

poppy we all have periods like that! I am constantly coming up with excuses why I can't go running with my friends yet when I do go (like tonight) I really enjoy it. It is just dipping your toe back into the pool!!

purple well done on getting through speed 3.0 - have I mentioned before how much I hated it Grin

sockballs I assume you have done alpha cardio?? Yes it does get easier although Total Body Circuit is far worse than alpha cardio Wink speed 1.0 is a breeze as you get lots of stretch breaks!
