Hi everyone, new thread started! Grin

OP posts:
lastqueenofscotland · 09/05/2015 13:38

7.26 miles along the river in the sun today.
Chilled out day well earned now!!
412.97 (i think? my maths is roooobish)

cinnamongreyhound · 09/05/2015 15:29

Good luck EdithDickie although you will have already done your first lap by now Grin

parkrun to add from me, I was 5 mins late but from my time I was 12 seconds faster than last week. 416.97 including there and back.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 09/05/2015 19:58

Hope all is going well for you and your team Edith

I missed parkrun this morning because of a mix up (not of my making). But every cloud has a silver lining, instead I had a lovely 4.9 meander along the river in the evening sunshine.

412.87

familygermsareok · 09/05/2015 23:12

Good luck Edith. Hope all is going well. Thinking of you with deep admiration as I climb into my nice cosy bed.

Adding 3.8 intervals from Fri early morning.

416.67

AggressiveBunting · 10/05/2015 07:06

Hmm, what's going on with this adding up then? Think transposition error by ohone Correct total is therefore 430.9 including 5.2 miles from me this morning. Had a couple of lazy days so thought I'd better give myself a kick up the butt and get back on it.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 10/05/2015 08:26

Oh yes, guilty as charged! SorrySmile

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 11:13

Does anyone remember a while ago we discussed musty smelling kit and how it was due to fabric softer? Can anyone who does remember, also remember the cure? I'm washing mine now without to see if that helps!

runtothehills · 10/05/2015 11:24

7 miles from me yesterday and another 9 from this morning, was aiming for longer today but had to cut short as weather up high (over 600m) was awful, driving wind and rain, brought back lots of horrid memories from 2 weeks ago!

Family yes it is the Lairig I'm doing end of June. Knee is behaving a bit better so aiming for first LSR next weekend, starting at about 18 miles. Have a hill race before then on Thursday, though this is just a quick short one.

Cinammon well done the PBPB Grin

7+9+430.9=446.9 (have to write out the sum to make sure I do it correct!)

emummy · 10/05/2015 11:40

Good steady 12 miles from me this morning, grey and drizzly again, hope it's not hot and sunny on race day, I won't know what to do!
cinnamon my kit is always washed without softener, it says on the label not to use it as I think it damages the sweat wicking? It doesn't smell musty but it does have a particular smell! I do try to hang it outside when I can to help, but the weather has not allowed that recently!
runtothehilles, I'm almost scared to ask, what counts as a quick short race for you?!

458.9

AggressiveBunting · 10/05/2015 12:15

I soak kit in cold water and white spirit vinegar for a few hours before I wash it. Apparently a 40 degree wash isn't hot enough to kill the bacteria, hence my kit is stinky. Since I started the vinegar thing, I've noticed an improvement.

Anglaise1 · 10/05/2015 14:15

9 miles from dog run and session with the club, 5 x 1000m in 4m20s.
Can't help with Cinnammons question as for some reason I rarely sweat so normal washing is enough for my kit.

Anglaise1 · 10/05/2015 14:15

467.9

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 16:08

Thank you AgressiveBunting, will try the spirit vinegar. It's not sweat that it smells of Anglaise1, more like something that has stayed wet too long before it was totally dried (kind of like a damp flannel).

familygermsareok · 10/05/2015 16:28

Wow, runtothehills the Lairig will be awesome to run, I have walked it a couple of times and it is so stunning there. Glad your knee is better and enjoy your hill race, hope weather is kinder than today.

6.2 from my 10k today.
And thank you to all you lovely people for giving me a confidence boost. I got my PB and am so very very very chuffed Grin Grin Grin.
It did make such a difference in the race, I was disciplined at pacing myself and even managed a proper sprint finish and overtook 3 men in the last 100 metres.
I had to dash away afterwards to watch DS1 who was playing in a big Cup Final for his Sunday League footie team. I got there at half time and we were losing. All the other parents were a bit glum but I kept breaking out into huge inappropriate smiles and was buzzing inside Blush

How did your event go Edith ? Hope you had a great time and are getting a well deserved sleep now.

467.9 + 6.2 = 474.1

familygermsareok · 10/05/2015 16:34

re kit, I don't tend to sweat much either but strangely I have noticed that some fabrics smell a bit funny if they have been dried outside in sunshine. I usually prefer outside drying but I usually dry my running tops and similar fabrics inside for that reason. I don't use fabric conditioner and only wash at 40, never get musty smell( well, not that I've noticed!) when dried inside but sometimes do when dried outside.
I know that sounds a bit odd Confused

HalleLouja · 10/05/2015 16:40

About 5 miles here. Had Garmin failure and a fall. 479.1

twobambinos · 10/05/2015 16:56

I posted earlier but it never appeared. 489.1 ten long miles half next week and blisters and very sore pelvis.

Cinnamon I don't think you are supposed to use fabric softener at all. Also I find sometimes its the machine is not clean and they say using bio detergent works for that and I def find my clothes are smelling a bit fresher with the bio instead of the non bio. Congrats on the pb you really are an inspiration

Knackerelli · 10/05/2015 17:22

494.1

Did 4 miles really slowly as still suffering from a really evil cold. Was meant to be starting my HM training too. Sad

Oh no halle are you ok? Were you hurt? I forgot to start my garmin today!

suzannecanthecan · 10/05/2015 17:31

11.07 from me
505.17

I used a different route, it felt like a slog, I prefer my tried and tested routes.

Are you ok Halle?

Anglaise1 · 10/05/2015 17:48

Family congrats on your PB, after all your doubts too! Fantastic. Especially overtaking men at the end. Men don't pace themselves as well as us girls. Halle I hope you are OK after your fall and that it wasn't too serious. Bloody Garmins, mine failed during my last HM.

EdithDickie · 10/05/2015 18:13

Just checking in to add 30 miles from my 24 hour event. Very tough hills and uneven terrain, really tough, had to watch your feet all the time. 30 miles! I am soooo proud of myself! Grin

EdithDickie · 10/05/2015 18:16

535.17

twobambinos · 10/05/2015 18:30

Wow Edith well done.

Hope you are ok after the fall Halle

orangeflutie · 10/05/2015 19:34

I had a good 6 mile run today, taking in bluebells. Everything looks so pretty at the moment. I also have 4 miles to add from Thursday.

Well done Edith, and Halle also well done, hope you're ok after the fall.

Sazorchard31 · 10/05/2015 20:08

Congrats on your pb family that's fab!

Edith amazing on your 30 miles, that's incredible!!!

I've 6 miles to add today, was a horrible run and use did not enjoy it at all, but it served its purpose as ive been out for a massive tea. 551.17 including oranges miles.

Hope you ok after your fall Halle
