Grab Your Tuna!

stevienickstophat · 18/03/2015 16:23

This is a thread about reclaiming exercise for those of us who never felt it was for us, or who lost our confidence after childbirth or illness or injury, or just lost our way a little bit regarding looking after ourselves.

This thread is about realising that getting up off the sofa and moving about a bit can be enjoyable, can be done in our pyjamas and can be fitted into lives that are too often lived for the benefit of other people.

This is a thread about firming up our wobbly bits, strengthening our bones, making our joints flexible and lifting our moods, so that the rest of our lives are that little bit easier and more enjoyable.

So, grab your tuna, wrestle yourself into your sports bra and watch out for the Little Differences!

Warm up, UF burner, Fat Burner, tone and sculpt and some stretch all done.

pants I think the warm up comes 'free' when you download fat burner whivh is the first workout after warm up on the dvd menu. If you have got the whole thing, have a look on the menu, it should be there.

cherrytree63 · 29/04/2015 08:06

I've been using the Davina body buff 10 minute warm up on you tube before doing the 7 minutes.

velmadinkly · 30/04/2015 06:22

Rest day from Davina today. I will be cycling to and from work though as normal.

Pantsalive · 30/04/2015 07:24

Found the warm up. Thanks everyone. It's attached to the Fat Burner. I knew there must be one.

So Fat Burner and Fitness Challenge this morning. Hot and sweaty but impressed I can still do something that resembles a press up. Let's see how I feel tomorrow ...

AmazonGrace · 01/05/2015 15:34

Afternoon!

Warm up, box fit, ultimate legs done, which is good as I've eaten like a pig so far today! Still, had no alcohol all week so less calories overall.

Hopefully will bad back on it in the morning!

AmazonGrace · 01/05/2015 15:35

Pants, glad you found the warm up!

velmadinkly · 01/05/2015 18:15

I'll hopefully be back on it tomorrow. My TOTM has arrived and it makes me feel as though I've got sleeping sickness, but I will battle through it.

AmazonGrace · 01/05/2015 21:59

I have the Mierna Coil fitted so don't have periods, it's fab!

AmazonGrace · 01/05/2015 21:59

Mirena!

velmadinkly · 02/05/2015 07:28

I'm not able to have hormonal contraception. If I did, I'd be straight down the doctors asking for something to make them stop. I slept in again today.Sad

I've had a look at the swimming timetables and the two pools in town have lane swimming on this afternoon, so I will try and drag my lethargic arse off to swimming. At least the cold water should wake me up, that is unless TOTM turns a little over zealous.

AmazonGrace · 02/05/2015 10:54

Ahh, that a bugger Velma. You do so much more though, cycling to and from work is a huge bonus and swimming too, between sessions I don't do much. Used to speed walk when we had our lovely dog, she was more knackered than me when we returned home. Grin
Im going to do a session when dp pops out with ds in a bit, wanted to do one this morning but ds is on the Xbox!

cherrytree63 · 02/05/2015 11:29

Hello everyone, hope you've all got lovely stuff planned for the weekend!
Just want to share the good things that have happened to me Smile.
Firstly, I dragged my daughter and her friend (20 yo young fit people) on one of my power/dog walks for about 90 minutes. They were lagging behind and collapsed in heaps when we got back. DD's friend said she was very impressed.
Secondly I managed 7 of the Davinas this morning, although towards the end I was doing less reps.
Thirdly I weighed myself and I am 10 1/2 stone, from a starting weight of 11s3lbs.
Onwards and downwards Grin

AmazonGrace · 02/05/2015 11:47

Cherry, that is FANTASTIC!! A huge well done to you! 7 sessions this morning, wow!! Well done on showing the youngsters how it's done too Grin

Finally had the house to myself, warm up, box fit and ultimate fat burner done. Wow, ultimate dat burner sure gets the heart racing.

Shower time now before chaos returns.

cherrytree63 · 02/05/2015 13:32

Thanks Grace. Smile

YonicScrewdriver · 02/05/2015 17:05

Well done cherry!

I did 30 mins exercise bike this morning and restarted my food diary.

velmadinkly · 02/05/2015 17:13

Nothing done today.....I might go and do a nordic walk in a bit (i dosed off on the settee). DH has just got in from shopping, so DD won't have to come with me.

Well done cherry 7 sessions! That is fantastic.

AmazonGrace · 04/05/2015 14:53

Right, house to myself for a bit so before I change my mind I'm going to get changed and do a couple of sessions, slacked a bit over the last couple of days! My thighs aren't going to tone up sitting on my arse!

AmazonGrace · 04/05/2015 15:45

Three sessions done!!!

Warm up, ultimate legs, box fit, tone & burn! I felt the burn!

Off for a shower!

Cherry, I salute your 7 sessions.

AmazonGrace · 04/05/2015 15:46

Bloody feel great though Grin

velmadinkly · 04/05/2015 17:30

Swimming today for me.

I signed up for my free 5 weeks of 'get fit with davina' to see what it is all about. Basically it recommends some exercise and a weekly menu. She has a way of 'assigning' food a calorie load. I'm not going to follow it because it means buying in all different foods and she recommends on 1 tea or coffee per day. I would honestly rather drink my own pee than not drink a few cups of tea at work. However, some of the recipes and menus are inspiring me to mix my meals up a bit.

I will do davina tomorrow morning.

stevienickstophat · 04/05/2015 17:35

Hello!

I've been doing Couch to 5k along with the odd bit of Davina, also brisk 30 minute walks in my lunch break.

I've cut out refined sugar for the last week too, and I'm chuffed to say that I've actually lost 3lb this week!

Grin

Another good side effect of Davina is that when I started running I found it way easier than in the past when I began from a standing start. I found it easy to run for a minute when in the past I really struggled, so my fitness has clearly improved.

Some really impressive stuff on here. Well done all. Things are really busy at the moment around here but I think of you often, jumping around your living rooms Smile

Helllo Stevie Grin good to hear from you! Glad you've checked in. Well done on your couch to 5K!

Velma, I keep looking at the card that came with the DVD and thinking of joining but I'd be struggling only having one cuppa a day Shock Might just take a look though.

YonicScrewdriver · 04/05/2015 17:42

Another 30 mins on exercise bike today Grin

stevienickstophat · 04/05/2015 18:18

Another new discovery I've made is Madeleine Shaw's Get The Glow recipe book. There are some gorgeous things in it that are so yummy that you don't notice they're healthy. If you don't want to buy the book she has a great blog.

Ooh I will take a look at her blog.
